June vs. July

Thinking about a trip to DL next year. As far as weather and crowds go, are June and July pretty much equal? If we went in June it would be sometime after the 16th (last day of school for us). July we could go anytime. Also, we would probably spend about 4 days, then thinking of a drive to Yosemite or San Francisco.

Any opinions are appreciated! Thanks!

I have been both times (more often in July) and decided I like July best. In June they don't bring the full summer shows on until around late mid June and you have the days right before Socal AP block outs which made for crazy days. The very few last days of June was nice but then you have July 4th around the corner. For us, we will be going in July or early August next year.

Otherwise I agree with Pink. Mid-June can be a little risky because of AP holders (depends on what new things open in June). Late June is better IMO and roughly equivalent to July.

This year the last days for the SoCal Select AP (before those APs were blocked-out for the summer) were June 8 and 9, and June 15 and 16 -- there were reports that the parks were super crowded on those days.

This year the last day for the SoCal AP (before those APs were blocked out for the summer) was June 26. A CM told me that the attendance at DL on June 26 was 64,000. DL was definitely less crowded once the SoCal Select APs and SoCal APs were blocked-out. We were in DL on Sunday, July 28, and Sunday, July 5, and both days had unusually low crowds.

This year many APers wanted to see Dumbo fly in the Magical fireworks. Next March the World of Color show is expected to open in DCA, and it's likely that next year many APers will want to see the WoC show before the summer black-out starts.
