The discounts for June (the last two years) have been slim. As I recall, two years ago the discounts ended on June 3. I believe it was very similar this year as well.

We opted, this year, to go in July for the first time. We did get a AAA discount at Polynesian and it was deluxe value season, but there were no other discounts AP or otherwise for that time period and the resort was full. Our usual habit is to visit the second-third week in June. Until two years ago we had always been able to snag an AP rate or other discount. Last year all we were able to obtain was a AAA discount. It was better than nothing, but much higher than the AP rate.

My advice would be to wait and see. Book what you want and hope that you are able to get something nearer in time to your vacation with a better discount. Unfortunately, if business at WDW continues to boom, the discounts for the June time period will be few and far between. That, of course, is just my opinion--I'm sure others will have a different view.

We plan to visit next year in June as well. We're waiting on the release of '08 rates for room only and AAA.

I'm with Tess on this one.. and I'll take it a step further.

I don't think you'll see the frequency or amount of discounts next year... that you saw this year.

They discount to fill empty rooms. If the rooms aren't empty --- no discounts.

We always go to WDW the last couple of days of May and stay for 10 days. Last year, Disney ran a "special offer" where we got free ticket upgrades and a slight room discount.

I had already booked our stay and was more than half way through paying for the vacation when the special offer came out. I immediately picked up the phone and called Disney reservations. I told them what I found on the internet. The CM gave me the free ticket upgrade and the discount (it only applied to 2 nights of our stay). The savings to me? Over $300.00! I wouldn't have cared if it was just $30.00. I will take any discounts Disney will give me.

This year we booked an arrival of June 6th. I made reservations for YC in Oct. and was able to get a AAA discount. I then watched these boards every day for months looking for a discount. I was really bummed when there was a discount that ended June 2 or 3. We couldn't go earlier because of school. Well, 3 weeks before our trip AP rates were released for our dates so I was able to get YC for $269.

Very few discounts in June and July this year and last year. None at the value resorts and very limited at any other resorts. I always took my kids out of school, now they do the same thing with their kids. The only other option is August.
