If you had to choose, would you pick June, July or August for a visit? And why? Can be any week from June 18-August 10th... Thanks!

June

Maybe slightly cooler (although that is psychological only, I'm sure)
Fewer tour groups than July, IMO.
No free dining crowds like in August.

All three are hot and humid, but sometimes June has the lesser chance of daily rain (although there was that one June when it rained every single day)!

I guess I'd go with June because not all the schools are out yet, and chances are the weather with be a touch better. It's the start of Hurricane Season, and usually there aren't too many warnings in June.

June would be my pick, also. There is at least a chance for slightly cool or less humid weather. Plus the crowds don't seem as bad. Good Luck!

I have vacation booked for two of those weeks that you have mentioned. I doubt that we will get there (we are going to DLR in November). I was thinking of the week of August 3rd for us. I just don't really want to go the week before the 4th of July.

I thought we could get a WP AP and just do water parks most days and then mix in a SW or Universal day.

It might be time to add on!

What Sarah said -- except the June temps are not psychological...they're a little less hot, and the humidity is a little lower.

Florida weather is hot but tolerable in June, worse in July, worse yet in August, and oppressively unbearable in September.

We went once in June MANY years ago...it POURED BUCKETS for 2 days in a row. :rotfl: We rode Astro Orbiter and our ponchos were full of water in our laps like 6" deep. I refuse to ride that thing now!:rotfl2: Our feet were pruned up for DAYS and our shoes were ruined. Best thing was there were NO lines for ANYTHING. I think there were only like 500 people at MK that day or something. :lmao:

We have gone in July before too but mostly now we go in August. This is because DS swims and summer swim team runs thru the end of July. So at this point we figure we may as well wait for the points to drop from "Magic" to "Dream" season. Our school starts up the very last week of August so we just go usually mid-August so that either all or at least half of our trip spans into Dream season and we're back home a few days before school starts to "regroup". Southern schools (FL) start back in mid-August so the crowds thin out just a little bit by then. Free dining this year starts at the very, very end of August. There HAVE BEEN years that it overlapped our dates & that WAS a pain (harder to get ADRs). Glad that it's back to being after our trip this year. The heat & humidity are pretty much the same all summer IMO so I'd just as soon save a few points.

I have been in late June, July and August and the best weather was August last year. It did not rain once in 6 days. There was a tropical storm in the gulf and it sucked all the moisture out of Florida. at least that's what they said on the news. It was very hot but it was dry

I've been with the kids all 3 months. They're all good, but overall, I prefer August:

June is good, it's not the high heat of July & August, but the rains can be cold. And, for me, it's too early in the summer. I want something to look forward to all summer long.

July was the most crowded and there were tour groups everywhere, however as intimidating as they looked, they were well behaved groups.

August is just right - the rain is warm, the crowds are lighter. I don't mind storms as long as I'm staying at a resort with covered hallways to/from the main building.

Funny you mention this because we were there during TS Fay in August 2008 -the day the main part of the storm was due to hit we went MK and there were no waits on anything. Literally getting off and right back on. Of course we got 7.5" of rain that week which wasn't much fun, but it was better than Cape Canaveral which got 27" of rain.

we've been in the first week of june and the first week of august. it is equally as hot but the june we were there, it didn't rain at all and my yankee skin felt like a chicken in a fryer! the august afternoon rainshowers make it seem less hot, plus we put on our ponchos and sloshed through mk in the rain so it didn't effect our park time much. obviously the pools will be shut down if they see lightening but swimming in the rain is kind of neat too
also first week of august may be a little less busy (early june should be star wars weekend at hs)

I vote June.... we have been twice 3 times August and each time I think what did I do and once in June. June was much better.

We are actually planning on next June. If your school gets out early I would go before Father's day.

I remember our first trip in August....98 degrees and tons of HS groups from Brazil.

Good luck...;)

Another vote for the earliest date in June. We've visited multiple times in June & July and it'd be my first choice, although one year it rained so much our $ store ponchos disintegrated.

We 'had' to visit the last week of July for many years. Unbelieveably hot & humid! Each year I swore I'd never go back then, but by the time the next opportunity came around it didn't really seem so bad...sorta like child birth;)the magic makes you forget.

:thumbsup2

We go every year, 2nd week of June! less heat, less crowds, less rain, less wait time in line! Win/Win!

Can't wait, 48 days to go!

We usually do mid-late August and I don't remember seeing the tour groups??
Mid to late August the crowds thin out because southern schools are in session-and if you hit before free dining I think that makes a difference. It's hot, but we get to the parks at opening and get back to the resort by lunch. Then we head out in the evenings again. As someone else pointed out, I also like having the trip to look forward to all summer! :)

We have done late July as well as mid to late August. My vote is for as late in August as possible. July was awful in terms of crowds and heat. The later you go in August the better the crowds and temps get.
