June/July crowds compared to Christmas/Easter?

Hi again!

DM and I are planning to visit with my 2 DS's (will be 9 & 11) in the early summer. We've been to WDW 8 times in the past 5 years (inc. 2X at Christmas & 1X at Easter), so I feel sort of prepared. But, I have never been in the Summer.

We're thinking about either the end of June or right after 4th of July for about 5 - 6 days. Plans are to stay at a DD Resort (to save $ but still be on property). Like I said, we have been during busy times. How does the late June/early July time period compare with Christmas/Easter. I know it will be warmer; although it was in the 90's when we went at Easter. Will the crowds be comparable to the holidays? Worse? Or, better?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Crowds will be about the same as Easter. Not quite as bad as Christmas. Weather will be hot, but humidity will be MUCH higher than the Easter visits. You'll want to be prepared for that. The humidity can sap your energy faster than anything.

We went July 4 - 11 2002 and June 20 - 26 2003.

We found that crowds during the July 4th 2002 week were a lot smaller than the June 20 - 26th crowds of 2003.

Also it rained more during the June visit than the July visit.

I wouldn't go during June again. We enjoyed July much better.

OK...definitely not what I expected (or wanted) to hear. But, I really do appreciate your input! Better to be prepared! I'm kind of surprised though that July would be better than end of June. I would think 4th of July week would be worse. Maybe we should rethink this.

We have been in June twice ('02 &'03), and Christmas once ('03). The crowds were comparable at first, but the closer it got to Christmas, the more people we saw. On Christmas Day, it exploded into crowds unlike any we had ever seen.

December has the edge temperature-wise though. Most days it was very pleasant. Late June can be hot, but if you made it through the 90's on your Easter trip you should be fine, just be prepared with lots of water, sunscreen, and a mister fan.

Most of the time the daily showers aren't that bad, they cool things off for a bit anyway, and usually only last for 30 minutes or so. The downpours we experienced in 2002 are the exception to the rule, but even then we had a great time.
