Tomar: I am sure you are aware of this but did you check out the points at BLT? I was looking into DVC and the points chart at BLT showed a party of 5 could stay in a 1 bedroom at BLT, all the others we need 2 bedrooms which throws the cost through the roof. We could stay 2 weeks at BLT in the summer for 500 points. Still a ton of money compared to what we normally spend on the room but with a room discount and just renting through CRO instead of doing points, we may someday be able to do this. Of course GF has a totally different feel and there is something very special about staying there but BLT may be a decent option for a monorail resort.

TP2- thank you so much for the information........yes I knew that the 1 bedroom at BLT sleeps 5....but there are set backs to think about there...first....It`s nearly impossible to get a MK view at the 7 month window (that is when I could make the ressies there, since BLT is NOT our Home resort..)...at your home resort , you can make a ressie at the 11 month window, so it gives you an advantage when the resort is smaller....(never had a problem because SSR is a HUGE resort)...
Secondly....if we were to Rent 500 points.....it is 10 to 12 dollars a point to rent....Hense a 500 point ressie at 10 dollars a point is 5,000.00
For that much ,we can stay at the Grand Floridian RPC (Royal Palm Conceirge)
It would be wonderful to have the Princess experience the World for the first time on the MK LOOP.....we will have to wait and see if a good AP rate comes our way this year....in the meantime....My wish is that the Grand ....................Goes DVC !!!

First ,let me say that Im soooo excited that you were looking into DVC resales .....If you need to know anything, pleeeeease don`t hesitate to ask !!!....Did you get any notification of the "Doorway to Dreams" opening at Roosevelt field on Sat. ?....I heard there will be characters there also !!!!
Your are such a great planner TP, I know that you exhaust every option before you make a decision when you make ressies ...and I agree with you that the way you guys have been experienceing the World , affords you the time you spend when you go.....if you were looking at the resales of DVC...you must have seen that they have some small contracts too....we are hoping to do a small Add-on soon .....to give our 2 DS`s an equal share of the magic when Mr. Tomar and I need a "wheelchair" in the world someday !!!

Remember that Kidani village 1Br sleep 5 and have two baths too. Jambo House does too, but only 1 bathroom.

I am not a fan of BLT from the outside, but DL11 and I did the free tour. The rooms are to die for. I should mention that currently the viewing lounge on the roof top is only for those staying on points. There is much discussion about whether that will stay that way or not.

DVC only saves you money if you continue to go to WDW and stay deluxe. There is a great article on mousesavers about it. I believe it's 6 or 7 trips.

All I know is when I looked into buying 500 points, the price was $50,000 For some reason I thought it was between $15k and $17k to buy in. I guess it all depends on how many points you buy. I hate to move resorts, once I unpack I like to stay put. For now, unless we win lotto or something, I don't think DH will ever buy into DVC. I guess time will tell though.

EE22: It is time to put a for sale sign on your front lawn and move on south. Way too cold for way too long.

TP2- The Cost of buying into DVC all depends on what you are looking at...
You can buy a small resale contract for 5K (50 points)...or....do a buy in at the minimum of 160 points at BLT or AKV or THV (Tree House Villas) for about 15K.......
Buying into AKV (EE22 is right....gives you the option of sleeping 5 and the 2 baths)...that would also be true for the Tree house villas....Its HUGE inside ....
Again, EE22 is right on the fact that if you are going to go to Disney and stay Deluxe resorts...this is for you and your family......on the other side of the coin....like I said in my other post....the great planner that you are ....affords you the longgggggggggg vacation too at the values....its all in the Preference I guess !!
Remember the DOORWAY TO DREAMS ON SATURDAY AT ROOSEVELT FIELD !.......if you need any other info on it....I can find the link I recieved from DVC....If anything....it would be a nice day for the Princesses to visit with thier favorite characters again...!!!

EE22- I agree with TP2- Put the sign on the Lawn !!!!!!!!...Burrrrrrrrr

Church is booked, I bought my dress on Monday... and will be posting pictures of it to my PJ here shortly. I'm excited. Just bumpping up alitttle, looks like all of us have been busy these last few days.....I know I have.....we had the "Great Monsoon" of the East coast, last week.....ALLLLLLL WeeK ! ICK ....it rained and rained, day and night here in NJ.....
I have started on my dental work today....OUCH !...as old as I am ...I am still afraid of the dentist .....lol...but that`s our secret !!
I have to have a root canal on one tooth (the one that broke in the world this past summer)...and I need another molar pulled....grrrrrrrrrrrrr
having said that ....and trying to forget it too......
OK ...let`s have a Roll call now.... :
TP2- How are yu and DH and the 3 princesses doing ...Did you get to go to the "Doorway to Dreams at RF this last weekend ?...someone posted pictures on the DVC thread...looks like a good time was had by all !! Mickey and the gang were there as well !!
