Hiya everyone.
Still catching up with everything. Bug did
all day sat. Dad is exhausted. And really missed us. The 2 weeks flew by and totally rested, for our approaching winter.
Still have a few things to do around here, but it will get done eventualy.
mini trip report:
Southwest, was totally easy, on time and got in about 20 minutes early. No probablems. We did Early birds, so had A's for boarding.
National, did emerald aisle, and very happy. No specialty cars or suv's but a nice full selection. We took a brand new [6 miles on it] ford fusion. Had satalite radio.
Polynesian, checked in at 11:30am, and did not have our room ready. Also putting us in a really far building [I did not want request was 3rd floor tahiti and given tuvula]. When requested change could only get 1st floor, but offered to move us to a nice 3rd floor on Sat. Agreeded, but had to do the check out thing at 11am and then in at 3pm. Sat. room not ready till 3pm. Then told a completely different room [section] then we had agreeded to. Ok, went to room. My MKV room = 3 palm trees and a side view of space mt. Castle NO WHERE IN SIGHT. This is when things got bad. Cause calling the front desk = calling TIMBUTUU??? Not the Polynesian. And they have the nerve to tell me I paid a fortune to see a side view of space mt. [which is NOT mk view]. "it is park view, as far as they are concerned." Tried to get a manager on the phone from the polynesian > given a "manager" {not from polynesian} >> who again said its park view. I explained, we agreeded to move, for the other room number not this..... Really did not care, and got the blah, blah, ..... . At this point our luggage arrives and bug, and I are fuming, crying, upset.... Poor thing had his hands ful. He said, let me call the "real front desk" and told them of the tree growth and no mkv from this room.... . I said fine > move us to CR, or GF if mkv not available here.... . I refuse to put up with this. We wasted the whole day packing > getting out and checking back in etc... . He talked to someone, about what room we had agreeded to and now we are here. After a few minutes they tell him, we will check room next door. That room you could see mkv from. So we agreeded. So, once the RIGHT people where involved, the problem was resolved. They also took a few $$ off the bill due to "front desk issues". They desk guy who brought us keys and to talk to us, said they are aware that, that particular room needs to be catergorized as LV and limited at that, not MKV. So if we hadn't know it was not mkv > we would of been in there, when other options where availble.
Poly continued: Very clean [all 3 rooms] beauitful gardens, beaches, and the WORSE resturants and room service on property. Ok, I admit I can eat O'hana's once a trip, but unless you like teriaki [sp?} on pretty much everything kona is out of the question, as is room service cause its the same menu. Even captin cooks's fast food is not normal. Where can you get american food at the poly is a mystery. Sure, its fun if your there 2 days or 4 but 2 weeks, is a pain. Housekeeping was good. Pools a bit cool. The quiet pool had no construction, but was a bit "slimey" the 2nd week I thought it was a bit moldy. Causing me to cough even when we walked by it. Now, if your not allergic you might not notice,
Boats X2 where great. And don't forget AP discount.
Parks, All where fine. ALOT of construction. Now, we all know about MK fantasy land but why have 10 other large projects going on too. Some on mainstreet, Tony's resturant, winnie pooh, small world, star tours, one man's dream. Epcot = we are probably the ONLY people who hate > food and wine fest. It is a drunken mess. Nothing appealing about hoards of people all drinking there way around the world. Now, we are not tea toddlers either. But, wasted people by 1pm??? Pushing there baby buggies??? "the festival is the beer and wine festival". ?? Miss the epcot, you can escape to, cause it is usually sedate, and less people, quietier, serene.
Resturants, If you EVER have a chance to do California Grille GOOOOOOOOOO. We absolutely loved. Have never been and was very happy we went. I timed it at 8pm so as to hit the fireworks. But, we got the dreaded back side room >> And went out to see fireworks on roof, came back to order desert. The room, I would probably request it if possible. It had low lights, quiet peaceful, the main room bright and loud. Seems the "bar" seats have the best view of mk. anyway. Our room, we could see Epcot fireworks, and DTD area, Lots to see. I kida wished, I had a date there that nite.
Very romantic.
Very worth the money. We where there about 3 hours.
We tried a few, that we had taken off our list: Canada, and was very surprised at how nice it was. Excellent service, and food. Mama melrose, also very nice. Our fav. server from GF tea now works there and we got her and she is GREAT. 50 prime time, Great food, nice server's. We don't care for the "show" she got that, and down played it for us. Old fav's, Les Chef's always excellent. Planet Hollywood, dosen't seem like we are in Orlando till we ate here.
Beaches and Cream, OMG. Great ice cream and TOTALLY went out of there way for bug's allergy.
Via Napoli, FINALLY somewhere to get fair pizza in wdw! Yaki N Yeti, OMG, bug wanted to go back. And that NEVER happens. We tried alot of things here and told them on their card, to please take over the resturants at Poly resort.
Not fav's = GF cafe. Icky food changes, and so so service, when 1/2 empty. Plaza cafe [mk] Waiting people and empty resturant???? Poor service, bug got yelled at for not alerting people to her allergy, till we tried to order ice cream. Didn't think it was in the reuben.
