Hiya everyone,

The shower was great! [or at least i think so & that is my impression]. Mom got a lot of great things. We had W A YYYYYYYYY to much food.
The house was tip top [which we haven't seen in years] and the boys loved everyone and no crazy antic's. Thanks everyone for your support!

Tp2, last time we did US was before HP > so can only speak about other things. The coasters are INTENSE they are not disney - ic. The water rides are totally soaking rides. They are not scary and are nice but you will be sooooooooooooooo wet we had to leave and return [all the way to the underwear] I am not exaggerating either. We liked spiderman & suess area was cute. We never stayed at RP we did Portofino [twice] loved it. and Hard Rock once and the rooms where tiny. Definately not worth the price. FOTL and early acess is well worth the extra > maybe a split stay??

You guys are getting soooooooooooooooo close! Count downs are dropping.

its been a horrible past few weeks... ive been quite depressed and havent done much of anything... i was cheated on and lied to by my now ex boyfriend.. my mom had to be taken to the hospital spent a few days ther...


due to this.. im trying to get a trip to universal this year. so when i go to disney next year wont have to rush to do universal and disney at the same time..

But I am DONE!!!! Handed in my thesis and took my final yesterday. Today I sat home with a sick kid all day. Of course tomorrow is her recital and Sunday we are supposed to take her into the city to celebrate her birthday. She cried all day long. She is so sad that she is sick when she was looking so forward to all going on. Poor kid.

thanx guys im trying to.. Been trying to keep busy on the weekends... went to see the avengers and Dark Shadows one day, went out to eat with a friend another day... this weekend im having a girls days on saturday me and my friend are going to get mani/pedis then going to see men in black 3....

Sunday me friend Dee, from work is coming over. shes the one i have trip plans with this year we are going to Universal, and next year disney. two reasons for doing universal seperate.. one we wont have to rush disney next year and trying to do universal too we can take our time.. it will be her first times to both disney and universal. and two, i really need to get away from things.. and get my mind off things.. so right now i have my mind on that and the planning for it.. sunday shes coming over so we can pick a hotel to stay at this year, and we are gonna watch the disney vacation planning guide dvd. try to keep my mind on happy things

yeah im trying to... trips are a good distraction, i try to keep my mind on that and what needs to be done rather than bad things.. and so far its helping.. then theres next years trip too i hope he is out there anyways..

yeah it was scary.. we thought it was her heart what with the issues last year and her getting a pacemaker.... i had never heard of someone having it.. i knew ppl could have it.. but since this with mom ive found alot more ppl i know that have it or their husband or wife has it.. its werid

Us > We are going to the wedding and reception tommorrow, i also work 4hrs in am. Then we can't stay late have to drive home from chicago and work sunday 12hrs. Ugh. That is going to be long. I volunteered for the day off > we will see. You never know.
I am off monday. So is bug. She has a nice 3 day weekend.

So DD is feeling better. Has not eaten a thing but at least she is up and walking around. Thank goodness.

MKY: Good luck with getting the day off. Sounds like you will feel like I do if you need to go in and then attend a wedding. I am so exhausted from being up with dd that I have that headache.

EE22: Yes you go back way earlier than we do. But it always seems so early when you get out.

Tomar: So glad that you are feeling well and getting ready for your trip.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes. I am so relieved to be done.

Our trip to IOA is turning into a trip to Disney. I bought 5 4 day park hoppers with water park or more passes. Got a great deal and could not pass it up. Also seems that DD8 will have no part of going there. So I am thinking it may be a day with DD11 and DD13 but we shall see when we get closer.

Hope all is well with everyone. Getting less busy here but of course still crazy with the time of year and all the recitals, but all good stuff.

Now off to plan our days...we booked 10 nights at Bonnet Creek!

I know what you are talking about. First my boss tells us after a couple of years that we can only take vacations in June, July and August. we have 8 people with 3 weeks vacations and there is not enough weeks in the 3 months for everyone to take vacations. Second, he tells us that if we dont take them we loss our vacation time. Of course he is the one that approves our vacations. Third - since he can't afford to take vacations, he does not think we should take one. Get this - If we are granted our vacation time, he wants us to take our company cell phones with us so he can contact us in an emergency, also we have to check in with him daily even on vacation.

We have to work 7 days a week 24 hours a day 365 days a year for him. We have to check in with him when we arrive at work and let him know when we leave at the end of the day. At 54 years of age, i would be a fool to start a new job and who would hire me at the salary i am currently at.

I understand how you feel, I also need a break........It has been a battle for the last 25 years for a day off let alone a vacation.

Hi everyone!

Back from Philadelphia finally. It is a nice city and the people are friendly but the service was terrible. I guess it is the norm. Plus there are a lot of panhandlers.

I did have time to see the sites so I enjoyed that. My hotel was walking distance to most things since I was in the historic district.

Back to work on Monday here since our holiday was last week while I was away.

Our trip to Martha's Vineyard looks like it is off. Our friends can't get the week they requested with their time share so we are looking at other options.

So I am going to start to look to see what else we can do this summer. Since we were just at Disney in May, they want to go somewhere else.

Parade season with the marching band starts next weekend!

RHMH - it can be so hard when you don't have a good boss. I've been there and it does suck!

Is there any protection for vacation time in the US? We have the labour laws here that require me to give everyone who is full time a minimum of 10 days off a year. If you don't want the time off, we have to request permission from the labour board to allow you to work the extra days.

We made the request for one guy who wanted the vacation paid out we decided to make sure everyone takes the time off. Try telling someone who wants to work that they can't because they haven't taken their vacation yet.

Your boss needs a reality check! By the way 56 is not old but I know what you mean.

In the US it depends on where you work.
You really are at the mercy of your boss or the company. Some people at DH's company have to "use it" or they forfeit it and then it's so busy they cannot take it. With all the moving kids around to and fro for us, DH chews through days here and there and has never gotten in that situation.

I will say on this Memorial Day Weekend...the military has it bad as far as being at someone's mercy. I am not sure how military families do it. We owe them a lot!! We were very lucky that my step dad didn't deploy and all that other stuff that goes along with many of those jobs and we never had to move either.
