Tomar, hopefully we will be healthy in Nov. so we can carry our own luggage, they are all on wheels.;)

mky:cutie:
AWW.. I sure hope that you are MKY pixiedust: pixiedust: Our Luggage is on wheels also....but the first year at SSR...we opted for the help...because we had gone grocery shopping..(too many bags to carry to the 4th floor:earseek: ..even though we had the elevator ...ick)
This year we tried the "Turf Club" for Dinner for the first time...it`s really a nice restaurant...if you guys don`t want to go over to DTD...or just want to stay at "Home"...:goodvibes It`s another option...
And....The Artist Pallette has great sandwiches too if you just want some lunch or a quick meal... !!!

We loved SSR - it is our home resort as well. I found it very peaceful and I loved to sit by the pool at night while the kids had a late swim....:goodvibes

candizfan, thanks for the glowing report too!:) Which area do you prefer? Tomar prefers congress park and I requested that. I like the DTD view too. Have you had a 1 br or studio? Have you ever tried out any other vacation club resorts? We stayed at bwv when it first opened in a 1 br. The room was nice, but put us off DVC till this year trying it out again. The BW had alot of problems when it first opened and we had several issues. Actually checked out and moved to the contempary in the middle of the trip. I see you have been on the magic? Did you like the cruise? We have done the wonder twice and maybe next year, not sure yet.

Tomar, We usually go shopping after we get into the room. I empty the big rolling suitcase, through it in the trunk and fill it with grocery's. Way easier to carry bags. Thanks for the resturant advice, I had not considered it yet.

 Update: Saw my MD today > & I get to go back to work. I have to watch it, and wear the inserts and try to rest it occ. but will attempt it on friday.:woohoo: He says it is coming along and in the right direction so we will see if it keeps getting better with walking on it again full force. I actually have miss not being at the hospital. :confused3 Who knew? So today I frantically tried to find my work id, and pull my uniforms to the front of the closet they migrated back and are usually front and center.

We are still very hot here today, so you east coasters get ready for a great weekend!

mky:cutie:

MKY!!! Thank you very much. :goodvibes WOW!!! You sent like 5 trees of stuff. DD will devour it. You rock!! THANK YOU!!!!

Thanks to TP2 as well with her knowledge of SW. Got some credits for the Reno trip already which we can use for another trip or perhaps to see the Mouse.:cool1:

MKY...you should try SW. It's so close to you, but maybe you get great flights from O'hare:confused3 the corn doesn't have squat! From here to Reno would have been nearly $2000 for the boys:scared1:

It's suppose to be 90 here tomorrow. WOW:scared:

mky:cutie:

MKY- What a great Idea :thumbsup2 Just one luggage full of groceries to get up to your villa instead of a gazillion plastic bags !!! :goodvibes
Wonderful news about your recovery too:banana: looks like your making a great comeback MKY:cutie:

candizfan- by pool ...were you meaning the High Rock Springs pool ? :goodvibes

Hi Tomar@SSR

I like the High Rock Springs pool during the day but in the evening the quiet pool near Congress park, which is very close to the rooms there, is very nice and peaceful. :cloud9:

Plus there are washing machines in the little building so you can throw a load in and sit and relax by the pool, flip the load and not have to go very far, then drag everyone out of the pool. It was like having a timer for how long they could swim. :laundy:

I hate taking a lot of luggage so I always do a little laundry but I like the location being near the pool...must have been the one who does the family laundry that designed this feature since it lets you be near the fun instead of stuck in an alcove somewhere. :sad2: There is even a TV in the room so you can sneak a peak at CNN if you must. :happytv:

There is a whirlpool near the quiet pool as well.

Candizfan- You didn`t mention which pool you guys use in the evening...but yes...the Quiet pool at Congress Park is the only one we`re at ...always :goodvibes We request Congress Park so that`s the one ...with the froggy statues:teeth: I know the Laundry there very well !! ;) I have to say...unfortunately...cause I think I mentioned that I hate to do laundry on vacation...but almost Always have to:laundy:

EE22, wow that got to you quick. No problem & hope it helps. We have been flying united usually but try to stick to about $200 per ticket. That is usually resonable from here. We used to fly ATA from midway, but they no longer fly out of here. If you can get great airfare out of midway, we did the fly, drive, and stay > at the hotel plaza next to midway. It was very nice and a great place for your car. Get the shuttle back and forth. Let me know if you need info on it. It was Very reasonable. We stayed over nite and parked for over 2 weeks, took shuttle and paid like 120? I think. This was about 3 years ago. The lot was Very secure. The hotels where: holiday inn express, holiday inn select, days inn, hampton inn, and a couple others i don't remember.

Laundry, I hate at the resorts. We actually went over to PORS this last trip, cause CR only had a few machines. Poly we usually do at 3am. It is a snake pit. Saw many large fights break out in there. It will be a pleasure to have the washer / dryer at SSR. We are going to have everything clean, when we move to poly and hopefully can make the last part of the trip without doing any more laundry. If i have to i will bite bullit the "laundry service" for a few shorts, pants, or shirts.;)

Tomar, i saw the frog pictures and they look so cute. But sis is a major donald duck fan, and knows that he is at the "other" pool. So I know, i will have to make a pilgrimage there too. Hopefully it will be warm enough to swim. Maybe I need to send my grocery / luggage idea to deb wills's allearsnet newsletter before someone else does.:confused3 :wizard: It is a felxible idea too. You put your 24 can pop on top and you don't have to carry it, use it as a 2 wheeler. Works great with taking laundry back and forth from laundry rooms too.

Candi, Did you like your cruise? We have not done the whole week thing, cause I did NCL years ago, and hated it. We only have done DCL / wonder cause of disney. Love castaway cay. And prefer the "family" beach, even though we don't have kids. The "adult" beach was actually boring. Everyone sitting quitely reading novels. We lasted about 10 minutes and went back to the kids running around. Have you stayed at Vero beach? We are between the wonder and vero next year. Even thinking if we are tired in N/Dec to take a quick ride down and check it out?

TP2, I finally picked up some stuff from our august vac. and got it out of the way. You probably are all done.

Weird, I finally go back to work tommorrow and it is the 21st. We go to WDW on Nov. 21st. Exactly 2 months. :hourglass We are so lazy I stacked out suitcases in corner, Not going back to the attic.

Have a great weekend. mky:cutie:

MKY: For sure send in that tip!!!:cool1:

If we ever fly out of Midway and need to leave our car, I'll remember that info.

Hi everyone !!:goodvibes
WEll today is nearly the first day of fall...and guess what ?!...Im back to wearing flip flops again !!! It`s like 85 degrees here !!!:beach:
I have NO problem with this really....Im NOT looking forward to the "W" word:cold:
They say the most accidents happen at home....I must tend to agree...I was cooking in the oven a few days ago...and "Viola`"...gave myself a wonderful instant Burn from the oven door !!!!! ICK...it`s really big.....:scared1: We`re taking all the nessessary precautions for it to heal...but...somehow...I think Im gunna be left with the memory of this "UNARTISTIC"...mess on my arm forever !!!:rolleyes1 YUK
MKY:cutie: - Great tips.!!...Ya gotta give them to "AllEars"...Yes.:goodvibes ...Hey..Ya never know...if she publishes them...we might be talking to a new celebrity soon !!!:cutie:

Well 1st day at work, and I get called at 5:30am > Your cancelled and on call today. Guess we are slow. Have like 5 patients and not busy. I kinda wish they would call. :confused3

Tomar, Be careful. Burns are nothing to mess with. I hope you saw your md, or went to an ER. They can be alot of work in healing, and can get easily infected. Sometimes you can't tell from looking at them how bad they are till later, things start sloughing off. Please, take care of this. :wizard:

Enjoy the last days of summer, we have had the air on here all week.

mky:laughing:

MKY- Enjoy your entended vacation today...sorry that you weren`t forewarned ...you might have gotten to sleep later this morning !! ;)
DH called the burn unit of our local hospital:firefight ....where my MD belongs...and it seems that we were doing the right thing (according to them) to avoid an infection...(Keeping it clean and dry..applying Bacitracin ointment 3xs a day).. Im sure I`d have him look at it if something changes...but for now it`s having patience to do this everyday that`s a pain
Thank you so much for your concern though  ....
AND......Happy Plannning for your new trip !!! Did you decide on all of your ADRs yet?:goodvibes

GREAT NEWS!!!
One of the days for Homecoming week is costume day.
Guess who owns a Tigger Costume????:lmao:
I hope it's COLD that week so I can wear it.:rotfl:

Tomar: take care of that arm!!

Sorry you couldn't go in mky:guilty: hopefully soon.

Yesterday was so weird...HOT during the day at work. I was a sweat hog then at the soph game for DS, we had to move to shelter for strong storms moving through and they called the game. Varsity played and it was pouring rain and then COLD at the game. It did nothing for my cold that's for sure.

Hiya everyone:wave2:

EE22, You will look so cute in the tigger costume. :wizard: You have such a fun job. We used to get to wear costumes on halloween then, now they say they are dangerous. :confused3 Not sure what that is supposed to mean. Sorry to hear your sick again. Take care of your asthma.

We got your cooler weather here today.:) No rain, just beauitful in the 70's. I hope wdw in nov. is like that. We where looking at some of our old pictures, and for the mvmcp's some pictures we have on shorts and t's, some shorts and sweatshirts, and a few in jeans 2 sweat shirts & gloves.:confused3 No telling what will be needed. EE22, what where you wearing last christmas? And sis would like to know which park did you do on the holiday? & Where did you eat on the holiday? We are not sure about our thanksgiving plans.

Have you guys read the menu's lately on allearsnet? Seems like all the sit down's have the same foods? steak, ribs, penne pasta, chicken. Just sometimes cooked differently or ethnically. They must be consoladating?

I got to work today. :yay: We where very busy. Heavy on bad stuff. :cool2: Looks like i didn't miss much.popcorn:: Foot did way better than I thought it would. What a relief. I cannot thank you guys for your support enough! What special friends.

:hourglass We are in the 50's!:smickey: :smickey: :smickey: :smickey: :smickey: A 5 mickey salute!:surfweb:

Hope everyone has a great weekend! mky:cutie:

Hi Guys:goodvibes
The arm was in pain today...Used a ton of bacatracin ointment...covered it...and proceeded to cook for alot of the Tomar crew this evening...;)

MKY- Your sooo very welcome... we all feel the same way about you too !!:grouphug:
I can`t seem to get any of the menus up on all ears tonight...I was trying to see what the new Italian restaurant "Tutti Italiano" is all aboiut in Epcot....HMMMM I wonder why ?:confused3

EE22- Take pictures of your cute tigger self ...OK? :goodvibes

When we arrived last year, it was warm on the first day and the second and DD and I wore capris. I know on Christmas Day I wore capris and the rest were in shorts. That night we were all in jeans and sweathshirts...it had rained all day. DS was still in shorts. Otherwise we were in jeans and sweatshirts for most of the time. We'd take off the sweatshirst once we were out and about and we'd be in t-shirts and then back in sweatshirts by the night time. DS wore shorts the entire time, but he's a human furnace. He was in Heaven. He just dies in the summer. Last year was strange though I believe...El Nino or something...don't think I spelled that correctly.

Christmas Eve we were in MK...ate at CP for breakfast and dinner.
Christmas Day we ate at the Grand for breakfast and dinner at Boma.
We were in AK that day.

Best advice I can give you...if it starts to rain and you have on jeans...start rolling fast or you will be soaked to the knees in no time and cold and very wet.

So glad your foot is better mky!!! I hope the Magic is there for WDW this time too with no foot pain.

I LOVED the 7 night cruise, I wouldn't have it any other way. I would find the short cruises too short since you don't get much out of the first day and nothing out of the last day. I love all types of cruising but this was a really great trip.

I also love Castaway Cay. The kids rented one tube to share and did a free trade to the floating mat, so the whole day only cost me $6. We did get very burnt that day. It would not have mattered if we had a sunscreen IV going, it was hot and breezy and the kids were in the water the WHOLE day. It was the very first time they have ever been burnt, so I was able to keep the guilt meter from hitting the top. I did try to prevent it but 6 applications were not enough.

The shows on the ship were incredible and I loved the whole trip. I found the food a bit too fancy for my taste but I did not go hungry.

I had left DH at home for the week and took my mom for her 75th birthday instead. I am very glad he went along with the plan because my mom is having health issues now, so I am greatful we had such a good trip.

I booked the next cruise while we were onboard so that we can take DH with us next time. I have Dec 2008 booked but I want to move it to Mar 09 once they open up for booking that far out.

Tomar@SSR - yes it was the quite pool with the frogs that I liked at night.

:hippie:

Tomar, keep an eye on your temperature, want to head off infections. It may hurt some from the healing process, the skin sometimes gets tight. Make sure you are moving your arm some. Hard to tell not seeing it. Burns are the worst for healing.

Candi, We are pretty close on our disney cruise fav. We wheren't that crazy about the food either. Our 2nd cruise, we felt we missed too much during meals so we actually skipped the dining room's and just had room service or ate at the counters. This freed up alot of time, to get to see other things. We are usually in the 1st groups out to castaway cay and the last ones returning too.

EE22, Hope your cold is better!:thumbsup2 Your car ride was really something, so glad you guys are ok. I looked up the shoes too. I have seen some of them in uniform books before. We are not allowed to wear clogs, but the regular shoes are ok. Thanks for the holiday info.

TP2, Loved the pictures. Your family is so cute. Girls are beauitful. I actually never had a picture this year from disney.:confused3 Must of been the boot?:confused3

For your own pictures, what do you guys recommend for your digital pictures? Sis computer is packed with pictures. We do the disc but, I told her, I thought there was sites for them.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. mky:cutie:

MKY - I had not thought about skipping dinner to do more on the ship. The kids loved the formality of the dinning experience so we did not want to miss any. But I will keep that in mind for next time.

We were close to the first ones off the ship at Castaway Cay and one of the stragglers getting back on the ship as well. Might as well make the most of it eh?

As for my digital pictures, I have all sorts of methods. I use Costco to print my pictures, and you can share albums with friends. Plus it stores the pictures for you on the site.

I use my computer space and keep at least a year on the hard drive. I burn the older ones to CD. Plus I still print photos and keep them in albums, just not as many as I use to. I like the computer to use the pictures as a screen saver so that you see them once in a while.

I want to get one of those computerized photo frames that stores your pictures and scrolls through them.....WAY TOO COOL. I am thinking of asking for one for Christmas.
