OOOh TP2 > Universal is fun in a different way. I don't like their big coasters but it is fun anyway. I recommend if you go to Universal stay onsite!!! Just for the FOTL thing. It is very worth it. We have stayed at HRH once and Portofino Bay twice. I loved PB! The Pools where beauitful. But I think they might be doing a rehab? The dis has a great site here for US. Don't miss that. Happy planning!princess:

Hi everyone:goodvibes
I finally feel like Im getting better...YAY!!!!:cool1: The Doc wants me to take it slow though...and I can see his point all right...I seem to get tired very easily....so I have to take it easy:flower3:
Thank you every one for your concerns and well wishes as I was recovering:grouphug:

TP2- Im reading your posts...and I was just wondering.....did you look into the 40% room only discount Disney is offering...
Honestly....Uniiversal will be just as hectic for your hubby as Disney would (if he`s just looking to veg)...and I think (not sure)...but alot of the rides are geared to older children ...I havent been to universal in years...but if the girls are yearning for Disney....mabe since the airfare is a given.:goodvibes ..you can check out POP...or the AS resorts. (with the 40% off)....they say the pools are great:beach: ...mabe your hubby might like thatpixiedust: Just a thoughtpixiedust:pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

MKY- I was checking the transportation boards...and it seems that the consenis is...that "Dollar" has the best deals going for this year...I think mousesavers has some codes to use too:thumbsup2 We usually use National and Alamo too...but we found that all car rental co`s this year are higher
Im pretty much done in that catagory...got our airline tickets...and we`re going with Avis this year...because we have rewards vouchers we can use only with them.....(the vouchers brought the cost down) so we were lucky there....good luck finding a great car deal !!!pixiedust: pixiedust:

MKY: Thanks for the info on Universal. I will do some more research. I wish I had info for you on car rentals. That seems to be the biggest source of confusion for me with the pricing. So many codes out there, it is so hard to know if you are getting a good deal or not.

Tomar: I am so glad to hear that you are finally feeling better.

I don't know what we are going to do. I think DH just wants to steer clear of Mickey, not necessarily theme parks. He suggested Busch Gardens so I know he is willing to go, just not everyday like we did the last 2 years at Disney. I agree though that the girls may be too young.

Hi everybody, i'm new to the thread but am so excited about going back in August, trying POFQ for the first time, was there last August in the Poly, so not quite on the same level but I'm sure I'll be happy anywhere as long as i am at the World. I'm also bringing 2 newbie friends with me this time, as i will be celebrating my birthday and i wanted my best friends to be with me. I made all my ADRs and got everything i wanted, trying LTT and biergarten for the first time, as well as some tried and tested favs like raglan road, ohana, crystal palace, mama melrose etc.
BTW, anyone thats interested in a little party, i am hosting a meet at the Adventurers Club on 8/24, about 9pm. Anyway happy planning to all, and good health to all (sounds like some of you could do with a little:wizard: right now to get well.

Hi fizz13
I feel the same way as you about being at the World
I will be there with my wife and daughters and 2 friends
Aug.18 to 25 we are celebrating my youngest daughters
graduation from college.
We are staying at the Poly and we plan on going to the Adventurers Club a couple of times. It is definately one of our favorites along with the Rose and Crown . I have always met alot of interesting people from England and Scotland there!!

Who knows we might be able to make it to AC on the 24th.
I think we are eating dinner that night at Fultons Crab. Which is next to Pleasure Island.

Have a great trip,
Monty

Hiya everyone!:surfweb:

Tomar, hope your recovery is in full progress. Take care of yourself! You have to rest up, your trip is what 4 months away?:yay:

TP2:bride: , Hope your planning has started for somewhere. I am not much help with Busch gardens. Last time there was years ago. I had a major asthma attack, when we got home my Allergist pointed out I have a severe mold allergy and busch gardens is no place for me to be visiting. (next to brewery) Also stay out of Milwaukee for same reason. :rolleyes1

EE22, :teacher: Hope school is going well. You should be near spring break? Is your room still decked out with eeyore and friends? Or did you take it down, so as not to think of disney?

We have had alot going on here. Vader:darth: Graduated monday from puppy school. :cheer2: So in May we will be starting Intermediate obidence training. He is now 55# and almost as tall as me.
It was soooooooooooooo warm here today. Get ready my East coast friends we are sending you some great weather. Sunshine & 50!!!! I have seen shorts and no coats, and 1 open convertible. motorcycles are out in numbers. :cool2: Us northerner's are sooooooooo ready for spring to sprung. :flower3:

I noticed my 2 trips are almost 100 days apart. My counter :hourglass finally is in the 150's popcorn:: I am so antsy. I need a disney fix.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! mky:wizard:

I'm so glad you are feeling better! My husband now has something... He has been coughing bad for awhile.. and since this morning.. his throat is hurting and his throat is really swollen and red. I'm not sure what it is.. but I told him he better go to the doctor. So, he is.. he's off on Tuesday, so unless it gets a lot better quick... he's going. I'm starting to feel bad too.. I hope I don't get it!

Hi all.:goodvibes Life has been way too busy!!

MKY: my room is still decked out in Disney, but soon I have to pack up since they are going to demolish the hallway right down from me:scared1: and I don't want dust all over everything.

Think Happy Thoughts for me tonight since I'm going to be Cher in the Variety Show. I hope I don't fall off my 4 inch boots on stage. I'm not sure how they talked me into this again this year.:confused3

Happy Countdown!!

Hi All, DBF and I are headed back to WDW this August!:cloud9: Neither of us have ever been in the Summer and I was just curious about what to expect? How is the weather, the attendance, the rain, etc.? We were there last May and it was exceptionally dry by FLA standards (which made me very happy since I have long hair and I usually have to keep it braided to stop the humidity from making me look like a pomeranian!:rotfl: )-any tips on what to do with long hair in the humidity (besides braids) would be welcome! So anyways, tell me about August!:thumbsup2

VMK- I hope that your DH is better soon...and that you don`t catch the bug too:angel: The Spring will be here soon....and then we`ll be anticipating our trips soon after that !!! YAAY !!:dance3:

I know!! I can't wait for Spring.. It's suppose to be 68 tomorrow! Yay!! It's really cold today though. I can't wait to plant our garden and get our pool done. We took the winter cover off yesterday.. and are trying to break off all the ice! lol And definitely getting closer to our Disney trip!! :D:D:D:D

Hiya everyone!:surfweb:

EE22 :teacher: Pictures Please! Do you sing too? Which song? Which Cher wig?

O>P>Jess :cutie: The upside of August is: Crowds are better than earlier in summer and it is hot. Bad side: I have fairly straight hair here in Illinois & in august I have an afro. I have short hair so there is No help. Sis wears a baseball cap and pony. Lifts all her hair off her neck and helps in the heat, sun, and sweat.

Tomar, :cloud9: Glad you are doing so much better. And yes, stay away from sick people. Your resistance is down and you can  get sick again.

You guys :dance3: get ready for some heat! We just missed 70 today. I have my window open right now and its just getting dark @ 7:30pm. :cool2: Spring is springing! Of course @ 6:30am today on my way to work: totally dark.

Happy planning! mkyprincess:

YAAY !!!!! Spring !!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I just about had enough of this winter....for sure:crazy:

MKY- thank you..Im trying to be careful ....washing my hands a gazillion times a day so as not to catch anyones cold:scared:
Did you find a good car rental for aug.yet?:goodvibes

VKM Chloe- Can`t wait for the warm weather either:cloud9:

OPJ- Summer in the world is HOT and Humid !!! I`ve gotten used to having bad hair days....soooo pony-tails...braids...or hats are the way to go...especially in the parks !!!;)

EE22- I bet you were the Hit of the show !!!!!;)

Happy planning all !!!!

MKY: :hippie: If I Could Turn Back Time. I sent you some pics. Let me know if you get them. I didn't fall off my boots:cool1: I just Lip Sync only...if I sang, people would run...very fast!!:scared1:

EE22:teacher: I loved your pictures!!!! That is way groovy!:hippie: Sounds like alot of fun! I bet your "kids" loved it!

Tomar, I have 2 national ressies running about 50 to 75.00 more than last year. (so far). I read that this seems to be the norm? I usually just like to stay with national cause I can't take (or stand) the high pressure sales some places put on you. They are relatively low key, and problem free. I do need to find a better code or a coupon ? Will keep playing with them.

EE22 or anyone else with "holiday" experience = I need suggestions for thanksgiving dinner. We are flying in on the wed. before thanksgiving, and if I survive that ordeal (ohare - chicago) I will need turkey. Would prefer non-stouffers. Do you guys think they sell turkey sandwiches or something at fast food counters?

thanks for the help! mkyprincess:

MKY- we used National and Alamo last year (Changed cars after the trip to see PP when she was born:goodvibes :cloud9: )
We thought National was great too...but we`re going with Avis this year...for the deep discount with reward vouchers....I`ll keep a look out for National coupons for you:thumbsup2
Sorry I can`t help with Thanksgiving...we`ve never been there at that time:angel:

EE22- Cher never looked so good !!!!!:hippie: :thumbsup2

MKY: I don't have any suggestions for Turkey besides LTT. I think they put out special menus at places around that time, but I don't know if it's just Turkey Day or other days. I'm not much help there. Maybe put in a word on that board to see what the veteran Turkey Day disers have to say. They had turkey at CP when we were there on Christmas Eve this year.

:hippie: I have a massive headache this morning. I'm not sure how I didn't fall off my Cher boots, but I didn't. I only know that my feet aren't meant to wear those anymore. I have had cramps in my feet for two nights now:rotfl:

If I Could Turn Back Time....:hourglass
I'd like too...daylight savings time is killing me this week!!

MKY & all who will be in the world in August:goodvibes - I just read that the Pirate and Princess party will be entended for dates beginning in late August.....we`ll miss it by a few days:sad2: ...but I hope that you`ll be able to see it !!!!:woohoo: :woohoo:

Hiya everyone!:surfweb:

Tommar thanks for heads up. Now we are torn. I planned a few MVMCP for our N/Dec trip but did not figure on this Pirate / princess thing. That will be closing the Mk early (my guess). Maybe change times, my adr's plans? This party sounds llike more for kids than sis and I. I am sure I will be compelled to at least attend 1 to check it out. popcorn::

EE22, yes I did post on the dining board too. But just can't seem to make up our minds as to what to plan? :rolleyes1

Hope everyone enjoyed St. Patricks day! Have a great weekend. mky:cutie:

MKY: What are your choices from the dining board? maybe I can offer something else if I know what you're thinking:confused3

I hate winter...I'm sick of it!!

OT:
GREAT NEWS: DD won regionals for a history project she did and she's going to state in April:banana: our high school's bball team won state yesterday too.:woohoo:
