green sky and total calm before they hit. The straight line winds are nasty too in those storms as well.

okay...so I'm not looking forward to spring because we get nasty weather like that too....

I called about our stove...it's not here and won't be here anytime soon with this weather. they are 2 trucks behind since they are coming from St. Louis and they were hit last weekend when we missed it.

The stove guy told me they have upped our snow totals to another 8 inches for today. Just turned off the news...18 inches

I just heard from a good friend that I work with that his house just outside Little Rock got hit. No one's hurt - but he got damage to his roof, trees, etc.

It's nasty outside. They stopped garbage collection for today...now that's bad they are delaying it like if there's a holiday.

EE22: I think anyplace has better weather than you have. Pretty much you can throw a dart at a map of the United States and get better weather.

Weather here is nice, really not sure why we had the power flash. We don't even need a coat. Sorry EE22.

Tomar: I don't think we have ever had weather so bad that restauants close. It is just a matter of paying them to deliver in the bad weather because we don't feel like going out.

TP2...I think you're right. I know in Michigan we had snowy winters, but the summers were not HOT like FL like they are here. It seems that all year we are trapped in the house with the windows shut even in the summer months due to the heat. Some of the best summers were when they were cooler and it was in the low 80's. We've only had a couple of those since we've lived here.

Everything is closed here...even the mall. I think the grocery up the street is open, but we can't get there. The streets seem to be plowed now though and the snow has finally stopped.

I think the storm though is still hitting mky the last I looked.

Well, the weather pattern hit Windsor today. We got about 3 inches of rain over night, followed by freezing rain mid day, followed by ice pellets for my drive home, followed by a huge dumping of snow. Now we have 2 inches of slushy mess under 4 inches of snow that will be fun once it freezes tonight. Skating anyone?

I had to go to my mom's and help her arrange a trip for an uncles funeral...I need to be there since doing things like that over the phone is rather hard these days.

The good news is we got vouchers from Norhtwest when we gave up our seats in March so it was only $178 to fly from Detroit to Ottawa Canada. Funny, we live in Windsor, drive to Detroit to fly to Ottawa and it is $400 cheaper, a direct flight versus a connection in Toronto and managed to save $300 on top of it. I LOVE being a border town.

She is going to fly on Friday since this storm has hit us pretty hard.

Windsor weather is pretty good usually. We are the most Southern tip of Canada (Detroit is actually North of us) and I only close the house up for a few weeks when it is really hot in the summer. But when it is really hot it is humid like Florida here.

I can have the windows open during the day until about mid October and then I have to close them at night for a while.

We have had a few tornadoes over the years but they are not normal here. Lots of thunder and lightning on a regular basis.

Candi...hope everything works out for the travels tomorrow.

Well...we are off from school again. A plow was stuck yesterday and the roads really are not good. The other school in our city had school today and the busses are getting stuck. It is just not good out. There are dump trucks rolling up and down the streets with trying to get rid of the snow. We did get a foot and a city northeast of here had 16 inches and it has to be wicked since it's near the Mississippi and has lots and lots of hills. My friend in Iowa City has school this morning and she said it's just a mess and many of the kids can't even get there.

I hope mky is okay. I saw that O'hare was hit hard.

It was so funny when I was up at the store buying some microwave food...my stove is still stuck in St. Louis...there was an old timer in there..."this is worse than the storm of 54." It was funny. I guess we did break a record for the most snow in a 24 hour period. The city just doesn't have the equipment to get rid of this stuff and they are running out of places to put it all.

Me my DW and DD12 are all going June 24-30..but,we haven't told our DD12 hehehe...We are telling her she's going to camp and we will even say we decided to fly there since the drive will be 4 hours and the flight will be shorter. I guess she may not find out until the plane doors open and she sees we are in Florida! We so sneeky. We are booked at POFQ and this will be all of our first time visiting WDW. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!

Sorry, haven't been on, we have been nuts at work. Evil RSV out there. All the overtime, I want and don't want. Hmmmm, Disney $$$. Otherwise, you guys where right. We got nailed with weather here too. O'hare has been backed up a week. I don't think they will catch up any time soon. Went up to chicago today and the auto show. Thought of Candi. Very nice but the traffic. Honestly; we are 30 minutes south of the city & took 2 hrs at 3pm not even rush hours. I would of stayed and shopped but have to work tommorrow and wanted to get home before the snow starts tonight. It is supposed to be 30 tommorrow and then drop to deep freeze again.

Candi; we are seriously thinking March 09'. I can get OK'd vacation time apr 08 > march 09'. That is the year it runs so will know that we are off soon. So take some notes while you are there. (crowds, weather, special activities).

TP2, I don't think we are going to score any Princess & Pirate parties this year. I am guessing only in the spring? Good luck, with the roof, wedding, and planning disney? I think you made the right decision with the Insurance. As long as you have somewhat of an out, it will not be wasted.

Mouseaddict's, How many trips are you planning? I have lost track. You are so lucky being so close. But you miss out on either Plane fares or a 20+ hour drive.

Tomar, Sounds like mother nature is taking you all under her wing. You deserve a break for a change.

Well, tuesday the 12th I will call disney again and finish our adr's. I am just calling after work. I don't have anything planned the last week that is to die for so, not really worried. I have to remember to add max to our ressie. I forgot when I evened out the dates. I was worried with the bounce back offer they might not let me drop and add a day but they did without a problem.

COLD here this weekend too. Keep warm. How is your foot? Mine seems bothered by the cold weather which makes sense because it's a joint where most of the trouble is.

The big story on the news yesterday was a newspaper carrier (a woman) was walking down the street and stepped where the sewer drain is and fell in and was stuck with snow up to her neck and finally someone driving by saw her and stopped

Hiya EE22!

Yes, the foot condition continues. I have been fitted and am awaiting my new custom inserts. Insurance has denied them so have to fork over the $300+ . But the need is clear. Then middle part of my foot is caving in now. Losing the arch totally. Having some balance issues. So it is affecting most of my body (for some reason). Right now, my knee and hip ache and I even have tendonitis in my arm. Ortho md says totally expected it all. From compensating walking weird. Or, trying to not walk weird. Good news is the bone scan was negative for any fractures. I think it is time to overall the engine and powertrain and get an updated model? On the upside, saw my md today and my blood pressure is now undercontrol. Frankly, I am really getting tired of doctors.

Next weekend, we are going to the doctors yearly ball. Sis( aka "bug"), is being honored and voted "employee of the year" from the doctors. It is a huge honor, and you are invited into their yearly party / ball. So we did some fine shopping: and have am elegant party dress. But worried about the shoes. Found cute party shoes with mid sized heel. Just hope it hold togther for the nite. I have a pair of black ballet style flats that might make it into my car just in case. Anyway, I am so proud of her. She works in quality at the hospital. She has a computer degree and never wanted to have anything to do with nursing / hospitals. She has worked there about 18 years.
