June/July/August 2006 Code watch

I read something posted here that Disney reservation workers were told to work extra hours starting this Sunday into next week. Why would Disney being doing that. Could they be planning on putting out a last minute code for June and people will be calling in to make changes?

Does Disney usually advertise their discounts in the newspaper? I live in New York and I've never seen any package or discount from Disney advertised in the Daily News and I usually read it every Sunday. I can't believe that Disney even advertised their August/September free dining in the AARP paper. They don't even have an AARP rate - do they think that a lot of seniors will book the August/Sept. free dining?

Maybe Disney will be advertising the free dining so more people will hear about it. Unless you are a computer person and check out Disney's website or subscribe to sites like this you wouldn't know about the free dining package.

Since when does Disney offer back to back packages? What kind of package can they be offering for July 5th through 8/12 that they would advertise in May since they're not even putting out AP discounts? This is my first time planning a Disney vacation and I am looking at everything Disney that would save me a little.

I was thinking about getting AP's because I want to plan another vacation in December if possible so AP's would be worth it for me park-wise.

If they do issue AP discounts can I call and have it applied to my room only reservation and then purchase my AP? Right now I have 10 day tickets with the water park & more option. I was considering changing them to AP's.

If I call and change them to AP's will they mail me a voucher and can I use the voucher when I check in? Will they wait for me to activate the AP when I check in because I don't want to pay rack rate.

Thank you for any info.

The most repeat customers are FL residents and DVC owners. Not the "I'll buy an AP if my discount comes out or maybe I'll just get one if they ask to see it at check in". I would wager that there are a lot of people here that don't have an AP and won't buy one unless they get a discount. No hit for Disney there. :rotfl:

We buy our passes for what they were intended for. Park admission. Anything else is simply an added bonus! Lack of AP rates won't stop me from being an avid AP holder. We love WDW and go as much as we can and we are not DVC owners or Fla residents either. I think Disney makes the most money off of folks like us that go to WDW whether we pay rack rate or not.

Have to agree with CarolA and DaisyD, I think most people who buy Annual Passes buy them for the entire family for ticket admission. I know we do.

I bought AP's for the family (3) because we will be at WDW 3 times between June 06 and June 07. I would like a discount but I bought the APs for admission. I made reservations at the resort where I feel comfortable paying rack rates. If a good AP rate is released I'll have zebra domes everyday, if not it's beignets for breakfast and I'll still have a wonderful time. :cool1:

Well I don't read the NY papers, but Free Dining has been advertised in the Atlanta Sunday paper. I have also seen it in USA Today and as a pop up ad on Fodors.com. So they are pushing it.

I personally don't think Sunday will be AP rates. You may be right it may be a big push for the Free Dining with ads in the major papers... AP rates don't get ads!

I agree that AP rates dont get sunday newspaper print...BUT the general public codes, for room discounts and other packages, do. I have seen the general public codes in the past for just room discounts. However, never have i seen them start to post on a sunday. Usually they have already been public knowledge on here or other internet sites.

I have a hard time believing they will release a general public code rather than an ap code as well. It may be some sort of package, but not just a room only code. Why would they? But, they have done really strange things sometimes.

I have never not seen a Florida resident rate in the past 7 years and so far that isn't out as well. I for one think that Disney still needs to offer specials for those of us who visit constantly. The MYW tickets with free dining isn't worth it for someone like me who has a Fl resident annual pass and the DDE. It will be interesting to see what happens.

We will buy AP's regardless of room discounts. We are DVC owners and we had initially planned on spending our first weekend at the AKL on the concierge level and our ending weekend at the Poly. Since, AP rates don't seem forthcoming I canceled our first weekend and added on the nights to our DVC ressie. We will keep the Poly ressie regardless of discounts.

We will be returning two more times on our new AP's for a total of 27 days on them so we will purchase no matter what.

I'm with you on this one. I can't remember the last time we went to WDW and didn't have a FL resident rate.

When was the last room only code for the general public? I miss getting a little deal. :)
Lets get some codes in here! :woohoo: :woohoo:
June anyone? :smooth:

I have a question. I already have my room only ressies with AAA discount. i plan on buying my park hoppers sat at the disney store. If disney were to come out with a package on Sunday would I be out of luck??

:surfweb: :stir: Good morning crew! :grouphug:

Just checked all major site including passholder and nothing new. Maybe disney will sneak it in this am, and surprise everyone since we are focusing on sunday? :rolleyes1

Ok, pass the donut's and milk. I need some energy, got a nice migraine going this am, and the computer screen and thought of going to work is killing me.

Tinkerjo: No technically unless your booked with a 45 day (book online, or special package), cancel policy you should not be out of luck. You would of course have to upgrade your park hoppers / tix to ap's if that is the discount you want. other wise they should be able to apply the code etc... . to you exsisting ressie. Unless the resort you have booked is already out of the discount's. In that case, I usually switch to an alternate. IE = instead of aaa discount at poly > switch to ap rate at cr? If it is available with the room and discount. Sometimes certain resorts are not offered with a discount or they have no avialblity.

Everyone :grouphug: good luck this am.

Morning!!

I don't feel much luck today, but I think it's the weather. Cold and rainy here today. Ick!

mornin' :surfweb: I don't "feel" it today, but I'm here. I figure we'll know more Sunday....... :confused3

HERE! I am paying bills other than Disney this morning thinking how nice it would be to get a discount............. :cloud9:
But I have to admit I am not too confident on a Mother's Day release. Wouldn't there be less CM's working that day? Not to rain on the parade but just thinking out loud.

Front and center, and amazingly, awake!

About Sunday, do you think it could be the Florida resident special, the play 3 for $109 or something similar? Doesn't that usually come out in the summer as school ends?
I can't really remember.

How did the word get out that Sunday is a possibility?
I kind of remember seeing it about 40 pages ago but can't remember.

Well I hope it's something extra special and just for us summer folks. That would make the BEST Mother's Day present no doubt!
