June/July/August 2006 Code watch

You can agree or disagree with the 92% booking comment...thats your choice. All I know is what Im told...POR is 92% booked for June and if I were to book my trip now..the dates I want would not be consecutively available at POR.

I didn't mean to come off argumentative and hope you didn't take it that way!

POR may be 92% booked but most of the deluxes don't seem to be for the month of June. I always book about a month away or last minute and I've never had so many choices of categories in all of the resorts, usually it's a pick and chose kind of thing.

I actually just hung up again with the Grand Gatherings department to see about changing to concierge at the Yacht Club and the CM said it's been slow and that June is slow for most of the resorts right now. She also said they are quite surprised that discounts, especially for FL residents haven't been released past June 3rd as is everyone in her department and that most of them haven't heard any rumblings that discounts won't be released. Bookings are picking up for August on since they announced the free dining again but June and July on a whole the bookings are down.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I've never had to pay so much and we're heading up for my daughter's college orientation in Orlando and knew it would be much more fun to include and stay in Disney than by the college for our boys so hopefully it works out.

Think about it like this...many people may NOT come in June/July now and instead come in Aug. b/c of free dining, so maybe thats why some of the room types have become available. Hopefully if this does happen, Disney will get the AP codes out to us. :thumbsup2

I just need AP rates for AKL Pool view (June 10th - 18th) so that I can get one of the AKL tickers ;)

HarryLeg,
We are going the same time! :thumbsup2 Need AP rate for a standard view AKL for June 10th-18th, but I would take a pool view ;)

If that's the case....then, I'm hoping we see some bigger AP discounts like in years past. I'd like to see the $59 value / $89 moderate come back from years past....but, I'll take whatever they put out....

We are booked from 6/3 to 6/10 at the AP rate of $74 per night at POP. I'd like to split the stay and go to CBR for 4 nights....but, I don't want to pay $155 per night. I'm expecting around $115 per night as is offered in May....but, hoping for something even better.

If the codes are really coming out tomorrow....and if history is any indicator....then, a few people should be able to get through this evening and get a jump on the official release. It usually happens every time codes are released that a few people get through the evening before the official release and snag a few AP discounts.

Speed :teleport:

CJSMITH, No offense taken :sunny: ..sorry if my post sounded that way.

I think we all getting a bit irritated by this whole thing. I hope that the CM who told me about POR being 92% booked was incorrect. As some of the posters said, then maybe AP rates would be "useful", and bookings are not as filled up as reported.

Just back in from work and catching up on the boards...
Kinggoofy --> I'd also gone back and checked the historical release dates for the summer AP codes and had noticed that both of the two previous years' codes were released on the first Wednesday in May. Here's hoping for a trend!
:goodvibes
We'd recently changed our dates (for fear of missing out on June codes, and to push us into Value Season) from 6/30-7/8 to 7/7-7/15. Our original stay was 5 nights at POR:RS and 3 nights at AKL. We made new ressies for 4 nights at WL and 4 nights at AKL. We booked the new ressies at AAA rates with fingers crossed for discounts because it's really more than we wanted to allocate for lodging. If there aren't codes (!) we'll probably have to switch the room view or resort and downgrade a little. I've gone back through AAA and expedia to see what the availability looks like for June, and it seems that mid June is REALLY booked up at the moderates, but has decent availabilty for the more expensive deluxe resorts and most value resorts. I agree with the person who said that a lot of people will be enticed by the free dining in August and September and might bump their trip up a little. Maybe Disney will anticipate the shift in crowds from June/July to August/September and release the codes?
:cheer2:
I've been banking on Wednesday all week, but that didn't stop me from getting up at the crack of dawn every other day just in case!
:surfweb:
Let's think positive thoughts for tonight or tomorrow. If not, I'm going back to my idea to have us all band together and book a DIS board Grand Gathering at discounted rates!

Trust me...ME TOO !!
( I have a bet with DW...she gets a $100 shopping spree at the World of Disney in DTD if im wrong, and ...if im right, I get not one..but TWO trips to the ESPN Club at the BW when we are there in June. Funny hunch though, she gets the $100 WoD spree no matter what :confused3 )

CJSMITH I agree with you as far as availabiltiy. There was an article in Crains business on april 25th, I believe that is the correct date, which talked about the fact that 2006 travel is the worst it has been since 2002. I can not imagine disney is doing that much better.

"Take advantage of limited-time offers for Passholders. These offers change often, so be sure to check back soon." :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: (From the passholder site)

That there is just funny ..I don't care who you are.

Now 6:18pm cst (1/1/2hr later, since I called ;) ) still nothing just called. And he looked too. said "let me see I can help you with that, nope not yet". :grouphug: Hang in there we got to be getting close?????

Here's a fix in the mean time. WDW is on the travel channel right now :thumbsup2

Still watching :3dglasses & waiting :hourglass

Thanks for mentioning that Disney is on Travel Channel. I just turned it on. We are watching it now!! And we're even more excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Alright, my kids REALLY need to take a bath and I am afraid to leave at this point. Has anyone called in the last few minutes? When we reviewed the last releases from the night before it was always around 7:45pm.

Like-wise, NO CHANGE at 8:30 PM. I talked to CM, Dontae, who was very nice. He checked but nothing new has been putin the computer. I asked him how late theyanswered the phones and he said until 10:00 PM. Guess who will be on the phone again tonight? :rolleyes1
