June/July/August 2006 Code watch

Everyone, I hope :rotfl: , especially those who are holding AAA rates (something's better than nothing).

I dont get it. June and July may be pretty well booked, but how many peiple are going to cancel those ressies for aug/sept thus leaving rooms open(unless they really think they need the rooms) surely they are not turning people away. I done need the dining anyway, seems like a pain to plan your day around meals. We eat mostly in the cabin anyway, with a few cs meals and one signature dinner. A room only rate or a an ap rate would be great! Sure stressful waiting though

Lots of "ifs" involved here...

*if - you can find a DVC member to rent you points, $10 is not written in stone. Popular resorts & times will rent for more...check out the DVC rent thread for pricing ideas.

*if - there is availability...again, popular times/resorts book up 11 months ahead of time.

*if - you can obtain the size Villa you need (studios & 1 Br's only sleep 4 + infant). They are very strict about issuing resort cards for max occupancy.

*if - you're comfortable w/the idea of a DVC owner making a res. & placing your name on it. You can verify it but, there is a degree of trust involved & each "seller" has their own criteria as to payment terms.

WDW has their own supply of DVC villas that they rent out ala regular resort rooms, at a much higher price.

Don't forget points are much lower Sun thru Thurs @ DVC.

Good luck

Ok to me it looks like buying DVC points is a good deal. I entered my dates in the points calculator for 10 nights at OKW it is 386 points. I don't know how to do it but if this is how you just rent that many points (if you can get that many) at $10.per it would be $3860. Doing it on the Disney website it is $7020. Did I do it wrong????? :confused3

I am currently planning a trip for July 5 and hoping for an AP discount. I called and spoke with a very nice CM and he priced out a new trip for me August 15 with the new code. I explained my situation and asked if this code meant no AP rates and he said ABSOLUTELY NOT and kindof chuckled. He said that AP rates are only out until June 3 (no der!) and that future AP rates will definately be released for after June 3. The summer won't be skipped. I felt MUCH better after speaking with him.

Now my question, it is hard to compare because I am not sure what kind of AP discounts we will get but I am originally planning on staying at AKL from July 5 - 18. We booked a standard room for the $205 per night. The least amount for an AP discount was $75 so that is what I am planning for figures. That would make the room $130 per night x 11.5 % tax + $753 for 10 day MYW base tickets + $750 for food (we have the discount card and eat b'fast in room) = $3387.35

The new code would be $2056.40 to stay at POR for 8 nights (maximum for package). This includes the 10 day MYW ticket for my party. I would just have to add 5 nights with AAA discount for our additional stay, grand total $2790.91. I am wondering how many days I can still use meal vouchers beyond the original package. I am also losing the deluxe and getting moderate, so I am not quite sure if I am really saving.

If you mean the free or paid Disney Dining Plan, DDP, it is attached to your room key. It expires at Midnight on the day you check out of that reservation!

LOL!!! Kiesh thanks for all your helpful info but I am not doing it.Somewhere in the postings someone mentioned it and I had already looked into at the DVC thread so I had the info so I was just posting it!!! As I said I didn't know how it actually worked!!! Anyway we have discovered that we have ties to someone that works for Disney and is getting us a discount so I am very excited and will find out this week about what it is !!!! Again thank you I did not know all the stuff!!! LOL!!! :cool1:

Thanks for the info. It really does not work out for us then. We are not the biggest eaters and we already have the DDE card from last year. I am going to hold out hope for an AP discount to come out before this promotion expires in June.

Lucky you, hope your family has a great time!:thumbsup2

same situation here -- except I am a DVC member with the DDE card and wanting to add on a few days prior to checking into BCV -- the wait continues :hourglass

one good thing, if a bunch of people plan for Aug, then that will mean fewer crowds in June and July!!! I can live with that.

Not as many as you might think

Schools in the south start back in AUGUST! So "changing" your dates is not that simple. Most of my friends will NOT remove thier kids from school for a week at Disney.

Some people need to get their priorities straight.;)

are these discounts that we are waiting on for everyone ? what sites should i keep my eye on to see when they come out ? is it cheaper to book on disneyworld.com or to call the hotels ?

Absolutely nothing new today - so sad, too bad.:bitelip:

Why in the world would they release pkg for Aug/Sept before AP rates? Really, haven't noticed any movement in availability for the days I'm looking @ in June.

Do think if anything willl be forthcoming (AP 1st IMO) it'll be later this week or early next.

If I am arriving on June 3rd for 7 nights, would that make me eligible for the current through June 3rd AP discount rates?

And can I find out online if the AP discount is enough to make purchasing an AP wothwhile? Or can this be done phone only?

thanks.

It should work for a check in date of 6/3. Here are the AP prices and AP discounts. See how much you save with buying an AP over a MYW ticket.
AP:441.98
PAP:574.06

Travel dates: 4/23/06-6/3/06. Discounts are $25 off Value resorts, $40 off Moderate resorts and $100 off Deluxe resorts. Book by 6/3/06. Use code EZN.

So what is everyone thinking about AP codes now with this free dining coming out? :confused3 I am so concerned that discounts won't be that good and I just booked something for August. My husband thinks I am crazy and we should keep our original plans but I keep feeling that maybe there won't be anything that good for July and I should just abandom my original plans. Anyone else feel this way? :scared1:

We already have airfare and DS will be in football in August so we're going when we're going. :teeth:

They offered AP rates last year during the free dining promo too.

I called today and the CM didn't seem to think that they weren't coming out just that I had a long wait still. 3-4 week in April. :badpc:

I'm just trying to remember back to the days when I didn't know about codes and paid rack rate and went to Disney as happy as a lark :cloud9:

:confused3 how about a general public code for July and August???? :confused3
