June/July/August 2006 Code watch

HI Guys :wave2:
First , let me say "Happy Mother`s Day" to all the MOM`S, that are diligently posting some news on this thread, Morning, Noon, and Night !! princess:
You ALL deserve the very BEST Discount Rate that Disney has to offer ! :goodvibes
My DH and I have been discussing this waiting for an AP code (or the lack of), for the YC ressie we made for 2 nights in July, before our DVC stay on our points.
In all reality, I just thought it would be too late to ask, but I called ms today, and low and behold, we were able to make a ressie at the BWV for the 2 nights in July we needed before our stay @ SSR.
I`m not gunna have to do this wishing and hoping everyday for myself, BUT, I certainly will for all of you great people on this thread !!!
I will be here now and then, though, checking to see if you guys have gotten your hearts desire :cloud9: , as I hope you will :thumbsup2
All the Best of Luck for a Summer AP Discount Code!!!! pixiedust:

Lucky you :yay: Congratulations, it never hurts to ask. :thumbsup2 Sounds like a great trip. :cheer2:

I was just reading some postings on "Intercot" and there was a posting from 2 people saying that they received a telephone call from Disney to upgrade to OKW or SS if they moved their trip to August/September. One was booked at Pop Century and the other at ASMo. Both had trips for the beginning of June, 6/7 to 6/14.

Can the value resorts be that booked at the beginning of June? Why is Disney pushing the free dining package for August/September so much? I really think that this thing about Sunday from Disney is to push the free dining package. Are people that worried about Hurricane Season (especially the month of August) that they're not planning vacations for August/September.

There was another poster that said that she called to plan her trip for July, and the CM told her to hold off because July AP codes were going to come out, but he didn't know when.

Hopefully Disney has another package that they are planning to offer for the month of July and the beginning of August, but don't they usually offer package deals if they can't book?

I really enjoy reading the posts on this site. I am learning so much from everyone about Disney vacations that my next one should be much easier to plan.

Good luck everyone. Hopefully the codes are out soon.

:surfweb: I just read this same post (over there ;) ). It was very interesting. Makes you wonder why. Disney is pushing the free dining and sounded like they are going to a Home away from home resort for the price of pop century? That should cut into the disney profit somewhere. Also with disney putting up resorts on priceline, makes you wonder: why there is no discount out of make ap people happy? :stir:

Everyone hang in there. :grouphug: Stay hopeful.

I am a worrier and I know there are lots and lots of people just like me in the world. Because of my personality, I would never book in August and September especially after last year we were flying the day the first TS was heading into the Gulf. It was only mid June. I've had friends in FL for years and others on vacations at Disney dyring a hurricane or on a delayed cruise due to a hurricane. My grandfather lives in Hudson (on the other side of the bay from Tampa). I'm a mess when storms go through. I'd never live through the nervous fit I'd have if I had a vacation planned and I'm sure there are many like me out there. So...given what happened last year, I'd wonder how busy it will be especially in late August early September when schools are starting. Along with free dining they are also pushing for the preschool crowd too. I haven't seen any ads for the free dining yet in either and it's suppose to end June 3rd. Perhaps they will extend the date?

I just tried to access the Florida Residents page, and got the message about it being unavailable at his time...maybe tonight is the night, maybe they are updating......we'll see :confused3

OK--I've been following along on this thread for a few weeks now without posting, so I feel like you will all appreciate this. We have all been calling for the AP rates to come out for a while now, and I guess the CM's are starting to get a little testy from the increased volume. I just called to find out if any CR standard view rooms had become available for our stay in June (we are going to be at the WL and POP from the 16th until the 22nd). When the CM (who didn't state his name as they all do when you call) answered, he seemed a little aggrivated when my first question was "Did the AP rates for after 6/3 come out yet?" (I figured why not ask since I was calling anyway!) He said no, checked the CR, and said that wasn't available either. I then asked if we could just add another night onto the WL, since all other options seemed to be gone. He got very nasty (as if I was bothering him and it wasn't, in fact, his job), and said yes, it was available for the 3 nights. I said, No, I was only adding 1 night, I had two booked there already. He said I KNOW ma'am, I HEARD you. OK, I teach middle school :teacher: , and can deal with bad moods, but really, this is a service industry we're talking about. I ignored his sarcasm and said, "OK, can I get the AAA rate on that night as well?" (because as we know, it isn't always available either). He said, "Ma'am, I aready SAID it was available." At this point, I got mad. I am certainly not dumb, I know I didn't previously state that I wanted the AAA rate. I am supposed to assume that he knew I wanted it applied? I said to him, "I am not sure why you are being nasty, but I am just trying to change my reservation, and I want to be sure I am getting it right." He hung up on me! I don't normally complain to get people in trouble (because I figure that we all have bad days), but this time I called back so fast! I got another cast member who assisted me in finding out the person's name (because apparently, they know who helped you before by pulling up your record on the computer). This one fixed everything without a big deal (the way I expect Disney CM's to act), and told me I should complain to a manager in his department, whom she connected me to! They were very nice, and told me that this would be discussed with the guy and apologized profusely. In all this, I almost forgot, do these people know how much money we all spend there each year, with multiple trips taken (AP rates or not)? Why should I feel bad about complaining? :confused3 Can you imagine if I have to talk to this guy again in one of my calls to check on the AP rates (because unlike some, I haven't given up hope!)? :rotfl2:

After reading your post I thought that maybe you were talking about a discussion you were having with one of your students. :rotfl2: If you call Disney and are currently booked into a AAA rate room for two nights and ask the CM to add a 3rd night that CM is going to automatically check to see if the 3rd night is available at the same rate and offer it to you. To check availability at a different rate would mean they would have to book an entirely new reservation, not something a CM would do. He probably felt as though you were treating him like one of your students and although that is never an excuse for being Nasty...(this is Disney afterall and you expect Magic,) he was probably acting out of sheer frustration as he offered you exactly what you asked for. I know people that work at DRC and there are so many people calling about passholder rates past June 3rd which they have no control over that there is a high level of frustration on both peoples part. Rates only come out once per day in the morning and there is no reason for people to call numerous times per day. I have read on here numerous times that people will call repeatedly and ask different CM's if the rates are out. Why would a CM not want to tell you the rate is out? I don't think rates are coming out for at least June as there is so little availability for regular rates. I am putting on my flame suit now...but don't kill the messenger, I'm just relaying how people feel. :cool1:

Well, first off, this isn't quite accurate. I have added nights and had to remind the CM to get the AAA rate on the room. ALSO, IF the CM was going ahead and DOING so, then he could have RELAYED that bit of information BACK to Michele. Since she had to ask, it shouldn't have prompted any snotty attitude from anyone, and afterall, it is HIS JOB to answer questions and HELP ppl who call!!

Another thing as us AP's holders know, rates have been released at other times of the day, specifically in the evening, so calling more than once to check should not be a problem, but more our prerogative.

And lastly, it may not be that a CM wouldn't intentionally keep code information from any of us, but several of us have come across CM's that we are assuming are newbies and very obvsiouly still learning the system they are using. When we have to coach them on where to look, that's pretty much a clue that this person may not know exactly what they're talking about and calling back and getting another more experienced CM would be wise. Also our prerogative.

With all of our many vacations to Disney, DVC, passes, meals, souvenirs etc... we pay for this service, and we will use it. :thumbsup2

:wizard: morning!

Nothing on the major sites or the ap site. Ap site did add some new pins, and the la nouba offer.

Looking at another gloomy day here. right now its 41, and high will be 49, with rain. :confused3 yuk.

And the answer is: (NO) my cm is very nice. thinks they are pushing free dining and will skip june. (sorry). Said we should see if anything comes out after June 4th date. Last day to book free dining. :badpc:

Hi everyone, just thought I'd add my "good morning" and "maybe tommorow". Don't forget about those posts that point to some kind of "action" tommorow in the newspapers. (Hey - you never know). :cheer2:

Bad news - We just got the Sunday travel section (for some reason this comes in our Saturday paper) and there is nothing new. Same August/September free dining special, same dates etc.

That goes along with what the cm said to me today. "They are really pushing the free dining in aug / sept." Asked me if we are going in aug. why need an ap rate and not do dining? I told him for just a couple of people and our resort of choice it really wasn't that worth it. I got about the same price with aaa & more flexible dining options that we prefer.
