I am considering cruising in June. I am a teacher and this time of year works best for me. Can anyone tell me if the end of June is considered peak season and how hot is it while at sea? Any info would be great!

Ah, the best three things about a teaching job - June, July, and August!

Peak season? If you go by the cruise fare, June is about as high as it gets. Temperature hasn't peaked, seas are relatively calm, lots of demand by families wanting to get started on summer vacations. I think it is a great time weather-wise to travel, very warm but not too much (and the ocean breezes abord ship and on the beach tend to take care of that anyway).

Hi, I'm a teacher as well and we have gone the past 3 Junes on the Wonder (2) and the Magic (1). You can definitely get cheaper rates than in June, but it is still worth it.

Unfortunately, the Magic won't be there next June, unless you are willing to fly to CA. They have not put out the June 2006 dates yet.

I did find that the earlier you go in June, it is slightly cheaper. Our Magic trip 6-12 was less than the Eastern trip going out on 6-26.

Remember, the earlier you book, the better the deal.

My only problem with booking too early in June is that I live in new england so we never know how many snow days we will be making up come June! Thanks for the input.

We were on the June 19th Western. Can't say about the Peak season, but I certainly believe it probably is.

Weather was absolutely wonderful, not a drop of rain although we did have thunderstorms around at times, mostly at night. The swells the first 5 nights were 1-4 foot and the final two nights were 4-6 foot. Incredibly smooth.

Key West was by far the worst for heat/humidity. Either that or we adjusted to it all and paid more attention to our hydration. After that, the temps stayed in upper 80s to low 90s (in Cozumel). Humidity varied, although the "Report from the Bridge" showing on TV in the stateroom insisted that it was dead on 70% for the entire cruise day and night, every day of the trip. Not a chance that was accurate.

Either we lucked out on our first cruise or it's a wonderful time to go.

We did the Wonder at the end of last June and the Magic at the start of this July (western). Both were wonderful weather-wise, but rates are high. I teach too, so I feel your pain--it's hard to book if you worry about make-up days.
In 2006 I am considering July 8, but am also considering Aug. 5 since it wouldn't interfere with the kids activities, which end in late July (swim team and summer theatre).

Just so you can compare, I checked on a few dates for next year. I looked for my family of 3 in Cat. 11.

May 1 $1950
May 22 $2300
June 5 $2700
June 12 $2870
June 19 or 26 $2940
July3 or 10 $2870

It looks like the end of June is the highest. Sorry!

We took both of our Wonder trips around June 19, it is hot, but for the most part not bad. I only like to swim if it is hot! Last year, walking around Nassau at 2 in the afternoon, it was pretty bad though. Our morning excursion was wonderful, but to walk around on the pavement at 2 was a different story.

Robin, I love the countdown clock!!!! I hope I can book for June 2006. I don't think I could watch the timer for it though!

for taking the time to post those prices and dates. Maybe we'll stick to the parks as that time is listed as regular season!!!
