We stayed at Bonnet Creek last October and loved it. We had a rate of $119 per night for a 2BR Deluxe. I just requested a quote for a trip for June 2014 (June 7th-21st). The quote I got was for $190 a night for the same 2BR Deluxe. That seems like a huge jump to me. I know it is in a different season, but is this the price that others are getting for June? I am thinking we may have to look elsewhere. This quote was from VS by the way (and they were the best price when I got quotes last time)

funny you say that.... I received a bunch of quotes for this june (just to price check and budget) was also for 2bdr deluxe thru VS and was about $140 a night...

I asked 2 weeks ago for a price check June 8 2014 for 9 nights and it was $165 a night... and now you are saying your quote was $190! yikes that does seem high ... I was planning on waiting to book until end of year but now I am scared it is just going to keep going up :(

Timeshare resorts are based on points used and that should NEVER go up. Each week/unit size has an affixed point value.

I don't know if I should question them on it or not. Im sure they wont change it, but geez, this is expensive! Im thinking we will have to do Windsor Hills, but DH wants BC.

You may be better off waiting and seeing if you can pick something up when the timeshare discounts roll in. That season is pretty quiet since none of the northern kids are out of school yet.

And I dont blame him for wanting BC. Place is amazing. Have you checked out other renters?

Not yet. The other one I got quoted last time was Ken and Denise...and they were a lot more than VS. I can check with them again and see. Have you ever rented through ebay or VRBO? I have done VRBO for our Hilton Head condo rentals, but have not checked them for BC. I know a lot of people do ebay, but I cant figure them out. They seem to list a specific week and its never when I need. Maybe I could contact the ebay seller and ask if they have our weeks available. I was really hoping this could come out cheaper than what it is looking like!

I have done both and never a problem. I think that right now you are not going to get cheaper since it is so far out. Timeshare pricing is pretty much set by week/season.

So it would be cheaper if I wait a while? I am OCD and like to have things planned out and set way ahead, but I can wait if it will be a big price difference:goodvibes

We stayed at Bonnet Creek June 7-15, 2013. We had a two bedroom deluxe for $112 per night. We rented through Laru Resorts (I found them on myresortnetwork.com, but they have a Facebook page too). We were very pleased with them, and with the resort.

I started requesting price quotes about this time last year, but didn't book until January. Prices from other renters ran a wide range, but several were comparable to this price. I think you can probably get something in that price range from a reliable renter, but it might be wise to wait a while to request quotes.

The more in advance you book, the more you pay. Bonnet Creek prices have been moving up as the economy gets better, more people learn about the resort and Disney keeps raising their prices, but the best thing to do about quotes you consider too high that is to say no thanks --- that will cause the price to drop.

Great info! Thanks...I will check out Laru and request quotes closer to booking:goodvibes

Also try TUG. Its for timeshare and you can get some good info and advice.

True, but the dollar value of those points can and will change....

This.

Ultimately there are a few factors that come into play when you are renting points for Bonnet Creek.

1. The owner's Cost per point. This would be the cost the owner is paying for the points each year. This could include their annual Maintenance fees and/or the original cost of acquiring their points. For brokers, it could just be the cost they pay to the owners they are renting the points from.

2. Any status discounts the owner could qualify for and use. VIP percentage discounts and free upgrades can be used to lower the point cost for a unit.... however Wyndham has a nasty habit of changing the way the VIP system works so this is always subject to change. As a resort gets more popular it could also lower the availability of discounts and upgrades [without using other tricks that raise the risk or potentially cost more points up front].

3. Supply and Demand... As the resort gets more popular, an owner can charge more to rent the reservation because there are more people wanting to stay there.... and they can find someone willing to pay the money.

4. The surrounding marketplace. Even if the owner's costs only go up slightly each year from MF increases, Disney will continue to raising their nightly rates by massive amounts based off what they feel they can get. Since the small value room at a Disney resort could now be selling for a rack rate of $160/night, it makes it much easier to rent that Bonnet Creek 2bdrm for $150/night. The Perceived value increases as people see Disney raising their rates for smaller rooms, so owners can then raise their nightly rates (and increase their profit) because the renters see that it's still MUCH CHEAPER than to stay onsite at Disney.

we stayed in june of this year and paid 125 a night total for a 3 bedroom unit

I used Farrell vacations this past June. I got quotes from vacation strategies and maybe vacation upgrades but Farrells had the best price for that time. But a few months ago we decided we wanted to stay in October, we went to Farrells first and it was the same price for Oct as June (139 for a 2 BR deluxe). This time we went with Vacation Strategies because it was cheaper (119 for a 2 BR del). The best thing to do is shop around for the best price.

$119 for a 2 bedroom deluxe. That is a better deal than what my wife and I got for 12 nights in October. We got a 1 bedroom deluxe for $110 a night.

I won a bid on ebay from an owner with a good reputation as far as his ebay score went, but someone I had never dealt with before. It was less than a month before we went. I had family coming down from NY staying at the Hilton Bonnet Creek so I was keeping my eye out for the dates I needed at WBC, and something finally came up. I always get our ressies on ebay and that is a typical price, we have never had any problem so far doing it that way. I never book too far in advance as we are only a little over an hours drive away.

I got a great quote from Laru Resorts too for 5 nights. How were they to work with? We are very close to signing but I haven't heard much about them.
