June 3, 2006 - Disney Magic Western Carribean

I guess I will start off. This will be our second Disney Cruise. It will be myself(37), my wife Wendy (37), our daughter Nicole (11) and our son Will (10).

I know it's along way off, but I already can't wait.

There have to be more of you out there. Let's get this started.

We will be cruising for the 3rd time on DCL. This is a graduation present for our DS (18). He will have graduated the weekend before. AND a belated birthday gift for our DD (15) who will have suffered through her brothers graduation and having everything be ALL ABOUT HIM during her special week.

We need to keep this thread at the top. My kids have enjoyed conversing with others prior to our cruises. They remain close friends with those they were in contact with.

Welcome. I know on our last cruise, we talked for months prior to our cruise and then met on deck seven on the first day. It was great putting faces to all the people.

I changed our sailing date to this western this morning due to a change in my graduate school meeting dates. I (Shawna), my husband, Bruce, our children, DS (6) and DD (2), will be sailing with you all. In addition to our family, we have three other cabins booked for my parents, my in-laws and my brother-in-law. We are looking forward to a magical journey. For Bruce and I this will be our second sailing. We enjoyed our Eastern cruise in July 2004. I'm looking forward to talking with you all as the months pass slowly by.

Just booked last night!! We had a 4 day booked for May 28, 2006 and decided to go for broke (literally) and enjoy the 7 day June 3rd instead! We will be in adjoining Cat. 10's. It will be me (Leigh), DH (Mike), and DD's Jessica (13), Mallory (11), and Christie (9). Any of you have some imaginative ideas about how to save money for the trip? This will take my whole salary as a part-time church secretary and then some! I set aside the money last year for our Land/Sea this past April and it was so worth it!! This time we are all about relaxing on the ship. I can't wait!!! Leigh

Welcome Leigh. It's great to have you aboard. I am currently a little depressed as my 1 year anniversary of our 1st Disney Cruise approaches and I still have over a year to go till my 2nd. But for me, planning is half the fun of going anywhere.

Just booked the June 3, 2006 cruise 2 days ago. We did the eastern in 2002.
We are Sue and Dan with DD-22, DS-19, DD-15 and DD-7. But, I guess they will all be a year older by then! We can't wait.

Hi Baloo and everyone else,
I'm also a single mom with daughter who's 8.
This will be my 2nd time on the Magic. First time was with the cheapo fall prices when dd wasn't in school yet.
I keep debating if I should go or not. These summer prices are .
Keep thinking about all the other places in the world I could go with that amount of money.

Hi Everyone. I am also on the June 3rd as single mom with two daughters 8,11. We did the land and sea in August 2004 and absoluletly can't wait for June 3rd (236 days). We are so excited to get to go to the new islands. We are excited about excursions but think we might want to do some shopping too. As a single mom I feel a little uncomftorable about this -- we will have to see.

Wow, thanks for writing. You just hear so much about the shop owners bugging you and yelling at you trying to get you to come into the stores. Some have described it as "scary & crazy". I would love to be able to get my daughters some mexican dresses. Are your kids excited too? My girls can't wait!! Since our last cruise all they do is talk about going back.

I hadn't heard about that. I don't have any problem dealing with carnival workers (the ones that try to get you to stop at their game booth).....I just ignore and walk on by. Maybe that will help me.
I haven't really told my daughter yet. She was only 4 on the 1st DCL cruise but she remembers a lot and I know she will be excited to go back.
It has been way too long since the last cruise!

Thanks for the information I think I have read to many reviews! My daughters were 6 & 9 on our first cruise and will be 8 & 11 on this one. They are both so excited
