I'm curious what your darling little grandaughters' parents think about taking them on the Disney cruise? I would wanna go too!!

Their mothers are not happy with us, to say the least. They are happy for their kids opportunity, but not happy about not being there with them to enjoy it. But Mary and I decided we didn't need them there to tell us that we know nothing about raising or taking care of kids. They will be in consecutive cabins midship and we'll be on a different deck all the way aft.

We have, however, softened the blow by recently booking a cruise for all 4 of our kids, their kids and/or spouses or significant others. This will be in 2010 which will be our 25th anniversary and Mary & I will be renewing our vows. A number of other family members and friends have also booked. It will be fun!

I know, kinda romantic and all - now I got a couple of friends kinda pissed at me for doing the romantic thing - just can't win.

Yeah, you can't make everyone happy all of the time, and that stinks!! But it sounds like your grandbabies are going to have the time of their little lives....that's why I LOVE grandparents! Most of my fondest memories are times I spent with my grandparents....and I know the same will hold true with my kids. You're making memories for those little ones....no one can fault you for that
