June 29, 2008 - Magic - West Coast!!!!

Aloha,
Hi guys GC is a great hotel.Your guys should try Napa Rose one night. It's the best restaurant in Southern California. It's a lot better that Club 33 I think. We stay at GC the night before DCA official grand openning. Wow that was great.
We are staying at Disneyland Hotel on New Years eve this year. We're using our DVC points. Still trying to get GC.
We are going to DL tomorrow. We got get our fix. Hopefully Toy Story Mania will have a soft openning when we are there.
29 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1::rotfl::banana::woohoo::dance3:
Can't wait to see everyone!!!!

aloha,
hawaiian mickey:yay:

Hey Henry,
Are you watching any trip reports right now? I had 3 going during the Repo through the Canal, can't seem to find any now. I am on a count down with the kids, they are soooo excited, except Hannah doesn't want to go to kids club...bummer. Our backyard is almost done, you guys need to come over and see it.

Well, my kid breezed through surgery on Thursday (eye surgery - he was a preemie) so we are now officially on countdown for the cruise. The funny thing is, I have two more weeks out on the road for work (one in NoCal, one in SoCal - we live in Idaho) before we fly down for DL/Cruise. We will be arriving Thursday morning before the cruise and heading straigh to DL, then to CA on Friday, and Hop on Saturday.

I'd love to try Napa Rose (the concierge tried to talk me into it as well) but with the kid, we don't want to do too nice. He is actually well behaved, but we have our limits. The concierge told us about the kids club, but...

I am still trying to keep costs down, as I can see this getting out of control very easily.

How old is Hannah? My son loves the kids club. He is nine years old. When he was four he would not stay in the kids club. Which was fine. We would go swimming all day. As long as he is happy I am happy.
I am so excited about the Disney cruise. My girl friend is on the cruise this Sunday. She is so lucky. It is her first cruise. I know she will love it.

We normally stay in the Emassy Suites. But, we decided that my mom would like it better at the Grand California. :cool1: She will get tired and need a nap in the afternoon. This way we walk her back to the room and she can take a nap and we can go swimming. She is 75 and will get tired. On the ship we are staying in a level 9 room. So we only had so much money for vacation and so we wanted to do it all and so we cut back on the room on the ship. We almost did not go to Disneyland. It is so expensive. We take a cooler with us and carry all of our food with us for breakfast and lunch. We only eat out dinner. No matter what, we will have fun.:dance3:
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I like your style!!! Napa rose is one pretty penny.

Is anyone decorating the fish extender? I am going to do that only if I have time. My door signs are finished. I now need to work on my sewing projects. At the moment I am still sewing pirate clothing for everyone. We love dressing up for Pirate night.

Hannah is 5, we did the Meditteranean cruise last summer and she and her brother (9) who loves kids club spent a lot of time there. Hannah has just always been a mommies girl and only wants to be with us. We did take her off the boat once in Sardinia, she whined the whole time - back to kids club. Looking forward to this cruise.

Hi,
Does anyone have any ideas for excursions in Mazatlan that a 13 yo boy would enjoy??
I contacted "Mazatlan Frank" - but his suggestion of Colonial City tour and beach resort didn't jump out and say oh perfect for a newly minted teenager (he just turned 13!!)
TIA

What is a fish extender?

A "Fish Extender" - the "Fish" being the note clip mounted outside of your stateroom door - is a decorative hanging that has multiple pockets for notes and treats from others on board. I purchased mine on e-bay.

If I can find the main DIS thread I will post the link.

We have our Fish Extender, but haven't planned any door signs other that the birthday one we get with the stateroom gift for DS's 6th bday the day we board.

I am sure DS (Andy) will see Hannah in the clubs? Maybe she will want to spend more time this trip.

I'm so happy to hear the surgery went well!! Great news ;) By the way...what's Hop?? I can't help but think of House of Pancakes....hmm...it must be breakfast time! :rolleyes1

What Med cruise did you take? We loved the Med cruise. But, we were so tired when we came home. So, this cruise will be more relaxing.

My youngest (6 and is Andrew too ::yes:: ) is very much looking forward to the kids clubs. It's my oldest that I'm trying to convince. He's 12 1/2 and right in between...not mature enough for the teen club (late bloomer and VERY shy), but might feel a little too old for the club. I told him they had the Wii and it perked his interest a little :thumbsup2 Anything to have a 'date' with my husband!!! :rotfl2:

OK... I have been on e-bay, and reading up on the fish extender thing. I understand what it is, but I am not sure if I am supposed to bring little gifts for everyone with one, or what I am supposted to do to participate. I do want to play;) Anyway....We are on deck 2. Will anyone come visit our door?
We are down with the anchor:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Well, this is how I understand it....Everyone on your cruise (from the Disboard or wherever) notifies the other as to which one will have the fish extender. So those who are willing to participate buy little gifts (i.e. Dollar store Disney things, or little items you've learned the kids/adults like) and 'surprise' the occupiers of said cabin with gifts. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...which happens frequently...:upsidedow

Notes and little cards as well as the little gifts. It's mostly for the kids (mostly ;) ).

I understand the "date" thing. :rotfl:

Actually, my Andy is not an Andrew. He is Anderson. Which most people don't know unless I am trying to get his attention. Andy will be 6 on the first day of the cruise.
