June 28, 2009 ~ 4 night on the Wonder!

Choose a place for the meet & greet

  • Goofy Pool 3pm first day.

  • Promenade Lounge 3pm first day.

  • I like one of these locations but prefer to discuss a different time.

  • I can't make any meet & greets.

Amanda I gather that you've done DCL before? What cruises have you done? How was the experiences?? Maybe you have info that us newbies could use! :thumbsup2

We just went on in March of this year and had such a great time! If you have little girls... bring your princess costumes!!! Also bring costumes for pirate night! The pirate night show out on deck is the best and not to be missed! Also Disney Dreams was my favorite show too! My other advise would be to buy disney stuff before you go... the stuff on board is really expensive! Not sure what other advise you need... any questions?

Great Thanks!!! Well, we have a boy (5) so it's mostly pirate night we need to worry about. I can't wait! I want to dress up but how much probably will depend on DH. DS will have a costume for sure.

Did you have a verandah room? That is what we got. I was thinking it will be nice for me and DH to hang out on the balcony while DS takes a nap.

I'm sure I can think up more questions as the cruise gets closer. :lmao:
Are you driving or flying? We are driving and are staying at cocoa beach the night before. I can't wait to check everything out.... onboard and off!

We are driving... we live 45 minutes away in Orlando. We got two inside adjoining rooms... We take our baby video monitor for the kids room. Yes it does work between the rooms... It is a good idea to stay in Cocoa the night before... that way you can make sure you are at the port on time! =-) Might want to bring something for the characters to autograph.. last time my in-laws got my daughter all the princess singing cards from Hallmark. The characters really liked signing something different then the traditional autograph books. This time we are bringing a princess poster that hangs on the door to have everyone sign.

Oh so you are SUPER CLOSE!! :) My MIL is embroidering a pillowcase with Disney characters and is supposed to give it to DS before the cruise so he can get that autographed. I was going to do the thing where you put it and the marker(s) in a ziplock and leave it with customer service.

He will also have his autograph book handy. I love the idea about the cards and poster!

I can't wait for this trip to get here!!

As for the fish extender exchange, maybe we could get a list of all who is interested and then each person could PM one person with our room numbers. Then the list could be shared with each person who signed up through PM once again. That way keeping the numbers private from any lurkers. (?) DH is having a hard time with just throwing our room number out there.

Who all wants to join in?? I think it will be a lot of fun! :goodvibes

That is a good idea.. but some of us newbies don't have enough posts to PM yet... =-/

Since this is our first cruise ever, I didn't know what the fish extender was? It sounds like a fun idea. My DH also is worried about sharing room numbers but for us newbies I guess we can't PM. Are you allowed to give e-mail addresses to send a list to?? Also I have a question about the fish extender gift exchange is it for all the kids or just the little ones (would teens be included)?

:rotfl2: How many are needed?? I don't remember. I've kind of been here a while.

I would think that everyone in the stateroom would be included. My plan since there are three of us is to have a fish extender with atleast 3 pockets. I'm sure you don't have to do it that way, it's just an idea I had.

I wonder if you can recieve PM's.(?) I will try to send you guys my email addy.

If you guys trust me to do this list, you can email your info to me at ctx306 at aol dot com.

How many of us are interested in doing this? If there are still people interested we should get started on picking out or making our fish extenders! :thumbsup2

My DW, DD 8 and DS 5 and I will also be on the cruise. This will be our 4th DCL cruise. We just changed from a Sept. cruise to June. This way we won't have to worry about hurricanes or pull the children out of school. Has anyone scheduled a meet or started a fish extender list? I haven't read through the posts yet so I will have to get caught up. It is getting close and we are getting really excited.:dance3: I need a tropical drink and lots of R&R. pirate:

On our last cruise it seemed as though each time we came back to our room there would be something in the FE. It was really cool for the children and they would race to the door to see if something was there (we had over 100 DISers on the list). It was mostly small things such as candy or crayons or magnets or other inexpensive Oriental Trader stuff. Nothing big, truly the thought that counts.

We get light sticks and necklaces from Dollar Tree and bring them for Pirate Night. It saves a fortune from what you pay on the ship.

Did you get my email?? Thanks!

I just did. Sorry. I've been running like crazy lately. My sister is getting married on Friday so it's been super crazy around here. I just sent you one back. :thumbsup2

Hi there! Well, we are trying to put together a meet and we are discussing the fish extender thing too. If you'd like to be on the list, send me an email at.... ctx306 at aol dot com. I'm going to create a name/room list for all of us and then either PM it out or email it out.

WHO WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A DIS MEET?

When should we have it?
Where should we have it?
I'm new at this so please give any input you have.

My only idea is that we could do a meet the first day. Either during or right after the sail away party? Is this a good time or a bad time?

Post your thoughts. Let's get this party started!

Hello! We just booked this cruise thanks to some great Florida resident rates. This will be our 4th Disney cruise, third time on the Wonder. We did a Dis meet for our last cruise, but I'm not sure we'll have time on this cruise.

We're going with 2 other families. Though one of my friends kids may be looking for a buddy. She's 6 but loves to hang out with her sister, 9, my DD9, and their third amigo, 9. (Though my DD and the third amigo are turning 10 this Summer.)

I'll have to see if the rest of our group wants to try the fish extenders. As most of you know, if one group of kids gets it, they all need to get it or war starts.

I am very excited to be back on the Wonder, probably for the last time before it heads off to LA. Our next cruise is already booked on the Magic for Thanksgiving 2010.

Hey Can a I get a count for the fish extender list... like how many boys and girls and their ages... I want to start looking for stuff now and I am not sure what I need!
Thanks~

Hello! My DH and I will also be on this cruise. We just booked last week taking advantage of some great Florida Resident Rates! My DD17 will be on a Church Youth Trip (she wouldn't have wanted to cruise anyway) and DS9 will be visiting his cousins in NC (he looks forward to that every summer). My DH has never cruised so I'm taking this opportunity to break him in without the kids. My DS9 and I cruised DCL several years ago and just loved it! Anyone else cruising without kids?

Hello again! I guess Disney is still trying to fill the ship up. I was surprised that I was able to get Palo for Dinner and Brunch. I was also able to get the spa appointment that I wanted for our Day at Sea. I'm still trying to get a Well Being Massage for my DH that fits into our schedule. We have been to Nassau before so we know what to expect. We will walk around the straw market and check out the Rum Factory. We have never been to Atlantis so we will probably hop in a cab and check out the Casino. We live at the beach so we will save our Beach Day for CC. The last time I was there I never made it to Serenity Bay because my son and I enjoyed the Family Beach. We did the Stingray Adventure and snorkled. It was a great day! I'm looking forward to checking out the Adult Beach Area this time with DH and we will probably rent bikes.
