June 27, 2013 - Magic in the Med (Venice)

Hello! I have finally gotten around to joining in on this Thread. We are so excited for this cruise and booked it on day 1. We are myself, Sue, my DH, Dan and my DD, Sarah who will be 15 when we leave. We have 3 other grown kids who unfortunately cannot be with us this trip. This is our 7th Disney cruise and our 1st to the med. First trip to Europe for me and my DD. I have been reading through the thread and look forward to meeting all of you.:woohoo:

My DD will also be 15 at cruise time also, hopeful they find each other....

Welcome aboard!

My granddaughter is also 15 on this trip. It is great that there are others in our group the same age.

We sail NEXT MONTH!

OK Cindy, we are not stocking you but we are on so many of the same excursions you may start to think that we are.

The Murano Glass and Burano Lace was now open so I just booked it for the 6 of us. It had been sold out the first time I tried to book it.

Yes , it is nice that there are others her age on this trip. She has really enjoyed meeting new friends on other cruises. Perhaps we can find a way for them to meet. Is there a Dis board meet planned for this cruise?

Yes there is. This is my first Disney cruise and I can't believe how organized people are. If you go to the first page of this post there is a link for Cruise Events that will show you the meet.

Here is the link.

Thanks for informing us about the Murano Glass and Burano Lace tour! We originally wanted to do this and are happy that we were just able to book it now!

50 More days before we leave for Madrid :cool1::cool1::cool1:

30 More days before the kids get out of school :cool1::cool1:

Can you tell I love count downs? :hourglass

Yes and NO, I love summer when the kids are out because of coarse it is more relaxing but because we are in California and we have so many furlow days and our schools distric is so messed up, the kids got out of school June 11th instead of the 22, the kids suffer...

We are counting down school days as well - 17 school days and three exam days. They are done May 31st so they will have a week and a day before we leave as we are heading out June 11th.

I have 25 work days myself - although those aren't 8-hour days but more like 10 hour days earning some comp-time to use instead of vacation days. DH was just approved for a conference in Rhode Island that is three weeks after we get back, so I want to go with him for the week which means I need to have earned enough leave to cover those extra days off I hadn't planned on. My boss said ok, so I'm working now to be off five weeks this summer. This will be the first time we've taken more than 3 weeks off before.

OMG have our FE's done and we love them! Now I'm just worried about transporting them to Europe. Checked luggage or carryon?

If they are breakable then carry on, if not then check them. To make it easier for us we are checking everything. Only purse and small backpack for carryon.

Just ordered the tuxes for my guys! :thumbsup2

They will look so handsome, but the big perk is that it will be one less piece of luggage!
