Ummmm.... you might be able to get COFFEE with mine. Oh well, I'd better start saving up.... (or hide in my room in Rome!!!)

By the way, the couple we're cruising with next summer had this plan to be somewhere different this decade on 04/04/04, 05/05/05, etc.

Last year they were in Australia, right now they're on an Alaska cruise. The Med cruise worked out so that the four of us can meet up with our OTHER cruise buddies (who are taking the repositioning cruise) in Paris on 07/07/07.

:sad2: nope we did that on the Mexican cruise. Sheesh! Don't know why DH offered up that one. Nope, it's the last family to join who buys. Or maybe the family with the most kids... let's see that would be... :teeth:

... and BigBlueMan, you can run but you can't hide. My kids know that ship better than they know their own home (they know where the trash is on board!) - they will find you :smooth:

Hi we are new to this board and almost booked- i feel like we have so much to catch up on.

WE will be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary and we are taking the little ones with us ages, 6, 4 and 1. We were in Italy for our honeymoon and always talked about going back for our 10 year anniversary. We did the magic on Jan 7th 2006 and had a great time.

is there a place where all cruise guests are listed along with email addresss? I thought that I saw that someone put this together..

Look forward to meeting all of you:-)

Welcome, welcome Michele to the slacker cruise. There is a list of all of us on the first page. The age of the kidlets is for when they will be on board. I will be putting together a spreadsheet of everyone, including email addresses, favorite sailaway drink, favorite television show, mother's madien name, etc. If you have any questions just ask RJAYL (head slacker). :teeth:

ACK!!! You listed DS as an autobahn driver!!! :rotfl: OMG, he's going to sooooo strangle me for that! I'll sick him on you! LOLOL!

I figured we could use RJAYL's for Barcelona souve shopping, BigBlueMan's in Rome, golfinwidow's in Pompeii - you know, spread the luv around. And the last family to join has to buy the sailaway drinks for the drink. So we will need a credit card or ATM # for that as well. See how good I am at spending other people's money ?

Got it. Although my cards may not be anywhere near me in Pompeii, but out on the links somewhere, so you're gonna have to go chasing for it. :rotfl: Can you believe mine had the NERVE to ask me if there are golfing excursions??? We're in teh MED dear, land of romance, land of exploration, LIVE A LITTLE.

Ok, i'm done. Hand me one of those Slacker Slurpies and I'll be happy.

Speaking of which, I'm thinking tee shirts for the Slacker Cruise, but can't get the dang gopher from Caddy Shack out of my brain, nor can I get Rodney Dangerfield's voice out of my head when I see this thread.

you just "forget" to pack them clubs. I've got two that would rather golf than breathe. In fact, they leave Sunday for the US Open (at least they won't be parked on the couch, "shhhh! I wanna hear this part!" :confused3 )

SLACKER SLURPIES!!! That's it! The official drink! Now, what to put in it .... must think, then experiment. someone said we must have perfection... :rolleyes1

T-shirts are good. I did names tags last time as well. You can't wear the same shirt all week (well, please don't), but you can wear the nametag which conveniently holds your KTTW card so when others see you they can say, "Hi, Cheri" instead of "Hi uhhhhh" (I know she is with the slackers but who is she anyway???)

OKAY now were cooking Slacker Slurpie it is! pirate:

As for ingridients it has to start with 151 RUM! :cloud9:

Working on an "official" web site. (don't get too excited - this is a first-time effort)

Hope to put in links to the stuff we can do (aka excursions) ... under construction. Maybe a slurpie will help get creative juices going :lmao:

Thank Ceri for everything that you are doing-I saw that you added us to the first page. Just to give you an udate on the ages of the kids at the time of sailing based on your recommendaation
DS will be 7, 2nd DS will be 5 and DD will be 2 at the time of the cruise
I mentioned that we are "almost booked" , does anyone have any advice on one cabin "family suit" vs 2 cabins since we are a family of 5 total. We were told that we cannot put 5 in the regular cabin even though the baby only pays taxes of about 259. It is so much more to go to a family suit. If we get 2 cabins it is less expensive but I know we will all end up in the same cabin anyway. CAn anyone help us here? Also, Cheri, where can I find email addresses on your lists? Thanks so much

You can fit 5 people into a Cat 4 Cabin it is the top of the regular Cabin heap! This is the only regular stateroom that will accomadate 5 people. The Suites Cat 1 through 3 would also accomadate 5 persons, but availability probaly does not exist :grouphug:

That being said you might be more comfortable in 2 Cabins you can get 2 adjoining or connecting staterooms (if Available). You get the benefit of 2 sleeping areas & 2 Bathrooms.

Inside staterooms I believe Cat 11 & 12 maybe Cat 10 also(least expensive), or outside (with portal or verandah) staterooms Cat 5 to 9. :cool1:

Availability is probaly not that great for connecting staterooms (not the same as adjoining) but will change as people who have deposits change there minds. I would advise you to book what is available & acceptable and ask to be waitlisted for your ultimate preference in rooms.

A good book to help you with research for your decision is the Passporters guide to the Disney Cruise Line! :surfweb:

I would talk to several Travel agents who specialize in Disney Cruises as well as DCL itself before I made my reservation. Several travel agents offer cash back or On Board Credits! :woohoo:

By the way I am not the Head Slacker as mentioned by an unknown source!

Slacker Slurpie's second ingredient after 151 Rum Pineapple Juice! :stir:

I am Captain Slacker! pirate:

Are there still family rooms available? When we booked about a month ago we had to get two oceanview rooms (connecting)for our family of five. I think it will work out well for us, but our kids are a little older. Hope you get what you want.

Karen

I know some people have talked about going to Disneyland Paris before the cruise, but is anyone else thinking about going to London? I love London and thought it would be a good intro to Europe for my 3 kids (13, 8 and 5). I was just wondering if anyone else was thinking the same thing.

THanks karen for your help- I would be interested to talk with you about 2 rooms for your family of 5- when we talked to our Travel agent there were family rooms and also 2 cabins available however she may have group space. can i get your email address-

Karen,
We are thinking about London, then train to DLP, then train to Barcelona. Of course this is something I'm working on in my mind and may not be a reality once we get our flight and train plans worked out. There are so many things to consider.

My biggest problem is trying to fit it all in a two week vacation. I'm looking into a time traveling device right now.

Me next (after Pam)

We will probably hit London first. I think it is cheaper to fly to London than Barcelona or Paris but i'm not sure.

Apologies, Captain. Rum and pineapple juice it is!

... and I haven't listed email address. Mostly 'cuz most poeple haven't listed their first names, let alone email addresses. Wait 'til you see all of the holes in the "Slackers List" on the web site ( :woohoo: doesn't look bad for a first try, I think)

back to the :laundy: - the men folk are headed to the US Open for the week, something about needing clean clothes. sheesh.
