June 26, 2011 5 Nights on the Disney Dream!!!!

Disney has a YouTube account where they post videos of everything, including the Dream! Search 'DisneyParks' and it will come up. They have a whole playlist of videos called "Follow the Disney Dream", I think there's about 21 of them :D

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Hey everyone,

I was reading nenner1's TR from her Halloween Cruise (located here), and on that page she mentions that she made custom lanyards for all her fellow DIS'ers on LanyardLab. This website is awesome! I checked it out and did a quote for 100 lanyards. They even have the font that is used in some places on the ships!

http://www.lanyardlab.com/quote (This is the page they have for design, let's all do some designs!)

I wondered if we would like to purchase lanyards for our cruise because Jen said that it made recognising our fellow cruisers easier (she printed out cards for everyone with their name and username), and it was also a convenient place for papers, KTTW cards, etc :cutie:

So my question is, is there interest in this kind of project? I don't think my mother and I are able to take on this monumental of a project in terms of making sure we all pay for our lanyards or something to that effect. I would be willing to help with designing the inserts if we wanted to have our names and usernames in the same place (very convenient! ;)). I will post the picture that I get when it reaches my inbox. The text I put in was "Double Dipping on the Dream!! June 26-July 1, 2011".

So, anyone else think this is a good idea? If we decide to go for it (or at least fool around with it!), we can always change the text and colours until we arrive at a mutual decision :thumbsup2

SIX MONTHS TO GO!!

SIX MONTHS TO GO!!

I love this idea!! I saw this in NENNER1's TR also and loved it! Way to go! Oh, and I saw you started a PTR yourself! I was thinking about doing this too!

Can you believe only six months to go!!! YIPPEE!!! We have our pre-cruise stay at POR and our transportation to the port. We still have to get airline tickets and WDW tickets. We are waiting for the YES program tickets to open up for June.

Please, if everyone could check post 297 for the fish extender info. As time gets shorter, I want to make sure I haven't missed anyone!

So who wants to design theme I am not good at that sort of thing other wise I would

SIX MONTHS TO GO!!

Hi all my daughter Sam talked to me about this today. I told her we need everyone's input. It is a neat idea. :thumbsup2

My quote has not come in yet!!! The webpage said usually within an hour, and it has been a day...Perhaps a re-do is in order? I will post pics of as many designs as I can make along with price quotes for each possible amount of lanyards. We do need to take into consideration whether or not we want to make lanyards for the kids/relatives/etc, who wants one in the first place, and the like. Hopefully as more people check back in we can get a list going should we decide to go for it!

In the meantime, as we wait, if you want to participate, please PM me with the number of lanyards you think you will need. When I get my quote I will calculate the approximate price per lanyard (the minimum order is 100lanyards and the first price break is at 250, I think) and factor in the printing costs for the cards.

:santa::cool2::santa:

I like the lanyard idea. If we all do this, I'm going to get one for each in my group.(3) I may be the only one to wear it but I'd like us all to have one. Great idea!! Do we have a cruise "name" or "slogan"? I like how some of the other cruises have done that. I'm not super great at making things like that up but I think it's neat! :goodvibes

On another note.....I'm SO EXCITED because I have confirmed that the Dream will have an entirely seperate kitchen for those with food allergies! My DS is allergic to peanuts and pea's. I have also found that I should be able to bring a canned good (ravioli) off of the ship for our day at Atlantis! I was worried about what he would eat for lunch that day since I have no way of checking the ingredients of their food. I am going to call AGAIN when we get a little closer to cruise time just to make absolutely sure. But so far I've gotten 2 confirmations on the can good. So I'm feeling much more relaxed now. :cloud9:

The slogan I came up with for our temporary lanyard design was "Double Dipping on the Dream!! June 26-July 1, 2011". It's cute, but, obviously I'm open to suggestions! :p

The food allergy kitchen sounds awesome! Nobody in our family is allergic to food (my mom has a slight sensitivity to bananas, but that's it), but it's a great improvement for those who are when it comes to cross-contamination. Yay Disney!:goodvibes:goodvibes

You can view the lanyard design and pricing here.

The total for these lanyards (100, with badge holders, no safety) is $190. Each lanyard costs $1.90. This website offers free shipping as well, which is VERY beneficial! When we order the lanyards they usually take anywhere from 7-14 days.

This was my original quote, so the second one with thinner 'tube' style fabric and a safety breakaway will be coming in soon. I personally think we should go for the breakaway option as it is safer for the kids who may be wearing them. If it gets snagged on something, the breakaway will come apart.

What do we think? Should we go with this colour or red? All caps? (I think I will design these, too.) We have plenty of time to play around!

I also will need someone to step up and be a leader for us with the money should we agree to go forward with this, as we do not have the time to do everything. If you have friends on the DIS who are cruising with us and have not looked at our thread in a while, please nudge them! We need at least 100 of us (kids included) to pull this off! Personally, I think this is a GREAT price for us to pay, if you kinda-sorta equate the cost of printing I don't think the price would go over $3.00 a piece, which is pretty reasonable IMO for such an awesome souvenir.

Who's with me??

Why did you choice double dipping I don't think everyone is double dipping mike and I are not because double dipping is going on two cruises in a row right

Actually double dipping refers to 2 stops at castaway cay. Two cruises in a row is a b2B (back to back). So many terms to learn when it's your first cruise! I'm sure you'll end up hooked!

I love the Lanyards! I would be willing to help you with this! But I am horrible at any kind of designing! Other than that- I am here to help!

IMPORTANT REMINDER!!!!!!
If anyone is thinking about going to Kennedy Space Center before or after the cruise, it is time to contact your state congressman for free tickets! We did this in June and had no problems!
