June 25, 2005 Mexican Riviera..anyone going with us?

PizzyDuster,

That's great news for your son, making the all stars, that is! Puts you in an akward position though. You would lose a good hunk of change, or have to find someone else to take his place, right. DD wanted to take Sign Language this summer at the local comunity college to get a jump on next year, but she wants the cruise more, lol.

Hi all, it's been a little while since i've written. I've been working six days a week and it's just been hectic with school coming to an end and all. I've been watching as the magic makes its way to our Ca. shores and it's been so much fun to follow their progress. They've shown some really amazing photos. June 25 is just around the corner and all in my family are getting excited.I seem to be a little slower about packing for this cruise then I was last year I don't know why but i've promised myself to get started by memorial day [ if nothing else get the suitcases out and dress clothes for formal night].

Has anyone gotten their docs yet? We haven't but it shouldn't be to much longer. My parents will be cruising with us and they were in a gty cat 11 and they have received a stateroom number a few days ago.

Hope everyone is doing well and all your plans for travelling to the ship will go smoothly. Robin :goodvibes

Hey, hi Robin. Okay fellow cruisers....

I've been reading some trip reports and I am wondering ..... Do we have Pirate Night on this Western CA cruise? pirate: I've seen pictures of people all decked out and I'd like to work on that now.

I guess we'll just have to wait for our sisters and brothers who sail before us to let us know all the goodies of information. I'm a planner, so I'm getting anxious.

What are the excursions you have booked?

I am so EXCITED to hear about the new menus. One of the pluses to get my DH to book this cruise was the fact that at least 4 nights we will eat out of the dining rooms. In port or at Palos. The only negative about our second DCL (5/04) cruise was the onboard cruisine. With the exception of Palos we absolutely got bored the third night! We looked forward to eating at port and therefore never really bonded with our servers who seemed to take it personally that we dined off the ship. (I hate to be made to feel guilty :guilty: ) I have read positive reviews about the new menus so I'm getting excited about that part now.

30 days to go... I put post-its on my DD6's cabinet in her room, 1-30. She wants to wake up every morning and take down a post-it so she can't count herself, how many more days to go.

I still have no clue how I'm going from Orange County to the Port. I'm thinking of having my father drop us off but I have no way to know if that's possible. See - :confused3 I'm a planner. I can just picture us walking 3 blocks with all our luggage to the terminal because they don't allow drop offs.

I'll just have to wait :rolleyes1 until our first CA cruisers enlighten us I guess. :confused3

No docs here yet :sad2: Got home this afternoon and there was a small package on the front steps. Started   that is until I saw that not only was it not only NOT our docs, it wasn't even FOR us. Oh well, soon I hope.

We have booked the scuba dive for dh in PV and the jungle expedition for the kids and I. We may have to rethink that one as there could be a problem with dh's dive certification. We have the Matzilan beach escape for all of us, tried for Stone Island, but it wasn't available, on line at least. Booked the beach horseback ride for all of us in Cabo. We will just have to dose ds up with Benadryl beforehand, as he is allergic to horses. Can't believe he wants to do this!

We also booked Palo dinner, brunch and high tea. We are really looking forward to the dinner and brunch. We may cancel the tea, not too sure about that. Anyone done the high tea at Palos? Is it as good as I've heard dinner and brunch are? We have it for the last sea day and I'm beginning to think it might be too much.

My understanding is that we will have a pirate night on this cruise, I'm just not sure what night it is.

I'm also looking forward to new menu items on this cruise, I usually found something that I wanted to try the last cruise but I went to dinner every night with the idea that I would try the one item on the menu that I would be least likely to order from a resturant at home. With that in mind I found some things that I was pleasantly surprised with and others that weren't bad but wouldn't order again.

So, there was a knock on my front door this afternoon and guess what was there? Yes, it was our cruise docs!! So now it begins to feel really close.

Well I have to go, it's my ds 15 birthday today and so there are festivities to get ready for, talk to everyone soon :goodvibes

How exciting for all of you that are starting to get your docs! :cheer2:
We'll be calling AAA today to see if they have arrived yet and we'll go pick them up.
How many are planning to go see the Magic tomorrow? Are you going when she arrives, sails out or plan on being there all day? I can't get there, we'll be out of town for the holiday but I'll be checking the boards for any pictures.
Michelle

I got my docs today atlast but they say we are leaving at 4pm instead of 5pm what time does it say we are leaving on the doc of the cruisers that have already recieved them?

Morning all,

Well the Magic is finally here! It's been a great journey, watching her make her way to Cali. There are some great shots of her arrival on the live from the repo thread. It just makes me want to go down there and get on NOW. Just four more weeks! :goodvibes

Great to hear you got your docs Audrey. No docs here yet. :sad2: Even though they really aren't exciting in themselves, it just makes it feel more real. I enjoyed our "mini DIS meet" yesterday. Did you find your bathing suit you wanted? I picked up some more green Mickey heads from Home Depot yesterday. Not sure what I'll do with them.

 The kids and I went down this morning...and it was awesome!! Its been great watching the live feed and now to see it here in our home port was so much fun! Just a few more weeks and it will be our turn!

Cheryl it was great getting together with you also. Well the ship is here and getting ready to leave about 3 hours. I am going to watch the news to night on abc 7 and see if they show any pictures of it coming in or going out at 11pm,. The day started out not so nice and I am sure that did not help the cruises that were having to get on the ship today I hope they were heading over to Disneyland to have more fun. I felt that way when ever I have to get off a cruise ship but this time I am the one still having our cruise to look forward to. Well we will learn a lot this week about what we can expect on our cruise in 4 weeks.

I Just saw the ship leave the port at 5:10pm on the news and it looked great just think we will be pulling out of port 4 weeks from today our turn is coming. The ship looked great you could even see everyone on the top deck I remember it well. On most cruises I seem to just unpack during this time for no big deal is made about it but disney has a party and there is the horn well lets hope this group is as good as the last one and keep us posted as they cruise along.

attention. go to allearsnet.com and you can get lots of information about what is happening on cruise every day. they are showing all the movies and what else is going on for adults check it out.

:wave2: Thanks Audrey! I plan to follow the reports. We are packing our house this week so I only have a couple more days to follow along before I am without a computer but I will have to steal, um I mean borrow, my dh's laptop so I can keep up with everybody.

Don't worry Margaret....I'll call you every few hours and update you! LOL :rotfl2:
Audrey, I read that report this morning, very exciting! As I was reading the kids were exciting about the movies, hubby said "wow,a lot of drinking is going on" but then they all said "ok Mom, I know you are excited but we don't need EVERY detail!" hahaha Well I do, I'm just tooooooo excited! :bounce:

:earsgirl: My DH, DD (18) and I will be sailing on the June 25th sailing. This is a high school graduation present for our daughter. We will be visiting DL for three days prior to the cruise.
We would love to meet other Magic guest during our trip.

If anyone has advice about the best way to get from DL to the ship and back to Orange county by 10:45 on Saturday, July 2; please send your thoughts my way.
Martha in AL

we were at the mall this afternoon and was passing the disney store. And went in and they are selling mickeymouse tee shirts for $5.00 each In red and blue . Was getting ready to leave and dd happen to call she just pulled into mall and We met her there and now we all have matching tee shirts for our wellcome aboard picture.

Sourmug - if you go back to the beginning you will see that I am bringing three kids for graduation presents. My daughter(Josephine) is 18, her best friend (Shannon) is 17 and my soon to be step-son (Jon) is 17. My daughter has been on two previous "Magical" cruises and is looking forward to this one as well. If your daughter is interested in corresponding with someone beforehand PM me and I will send you her email address.

Welcome Martha! I am sure DL will have arrangements for those that need to get to the port. As far as getting back, I would just keep checking out these threads to see how everyone else before us is doing it.

Michelle,
You know I will just be around the corner from you so I will be at your house all the time!!!!! ;)

Welcome Martha! We will be driving to the port, so can't help on the transportation questions. In fact most of us here are driving, so we won't be much help on that front, but if you ask over on the main cruise board you may get more responses.

It's exciting to see reports from the first west coast sailing. So glad they are doing pirate night, dd was really looking forward to it, and so was I!
