June 25, 2005 Mexican Riviera..anyone going with us?

We are considering a beach day, but aren't sure which day either. DD wants to go horseback riding (DS allergic), DH wants to dive, DS wants the beach, me?? I just want to go!

Went to DL for Mother's Day. It was very nice, not crowded at all. The new parade is pretty good, the parks are all shined up and looking great. Best of all was the fireworks show. It was the best I have ever seen, even better than Fantasmic.

Welcome Michelle,
It's getting down there, I think we are under 50 days now. Who all are you bringing with you, and where are you coming from? We are so looking forward to trying out DCL. Best of all. we don't have to fly, just get in the car and drive about an hour to the port.

Cheryl,
I'm even closer to the port than you...I'm in Pasadena. We have a big group coming...
Me, DH, DD#1(13), DD's best friend(13), DD#2(10), My Mom,Grandmother, Sister#2, Her DH, DS(5) & DD (2), Sister #3, Family Friends that have DD(6) & DS(5) so a total of 16 of us. I have never been on a cruise so I'm super excited....not to mention it being a Disney Cruise! Some of the others in the group have done cruises before but never one like this. We all love Disneyland and are annual passholders so this is just our style. Can't wait...it's almost here!
Michelle

Welcome Michelle
Can't wait to meet everyone it won't re long now.
Our ship leaves for LA in three days and I am sure they will keep us posted as to what is going on as they travel west.
dh is not going with us he likes kids but can't take that many at one time.
I just put a deposit down on a cruise thru the panama canal for next april. So after this cruise I will have something to look forward to.
I have a lot of green heads and am going to try and make name tags out of them I will let everyone know how they turn out.

Well, we finally made some decisions on shore excursions and I got everything booked. In PV, DH is doing the scuba dive, the kids and I are doing the Tropical Paradise Jungle Expedition, In Mazatlan it's the Beach Escape (ds's choice- it's his BD) and in Cabo we are doing the beach horseback ride. Of course these could change at any time, lol.

DD (16) has a request. She would like to know if any of the teens going would like to exchange e-mails or chat on AIM, so they can get to know each other a bit before the cruise. If anyone is interested send me a PM and we can exchange contact info. Same goes for the preteen crowd, though DS (11) doesn't spend nearly as much time online.

We still haven't decided on excursions yet. I'm going to have hubby and the kids sit down and pick something! I know what I want to do because I've looked at the papers a million times! LOL There has been so many helpful tips that I have read in the past, now I need to start making my list and go shopping. Anyone have helpful tips?
Michelle

When do we find out what our dinning rotation is? I want to do a Palo ressie for hubby and I, but not sure what night woudl be good.
Michelle

well after may 28 cruise we should have some of our answers the best think is to book late and if you have something special on the night you have booked it for you can go to dinner with kids and still go to Palo also. Well tomorrow is the big day our ship starts moving towards us.

Hey all,

I've already booked Palo for dinner on the second day at sea, Monday, at 8:30. We have early seating and I figured that if it is a special nite in the dining room we can always do both and just have an appetizer with the kids. They fortunatly are old enough to be on their own for dinner.

Well I've started my cruise shopping. Went out today and picked up some travel size toiletries, some shorts and a couple t-shirts for myself, and various other little things. Still need to get dh some flip flops and I would love to find a nice swim suit for myself but that's not high on my list. I've got to get the kids to go through their stuff and see what they might need. I'm sure dd will want a new swim suit and ds needs flip flops and pants for formal dinner, other than that I'm clueless as they do their own laundry now, yeah.

We are waiting impatiently to hear from the first of the west coast cruisers so we can learn from them. Just over two weeks and the Magic will be here! Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hi everybody, I went out shopping for a few things, ended up finding to many things. So I bought them and will have to decide whether to keep them or take them back. Found a dress for formal night that I love but i'm not sure how it will travel [as far as wrinkeling]. Found a possible pirate night outfit for myself [full swirlly skirt and a top that ties at waist] it might work haven't decided on that one yet. looked for some dress slacks for my son, didn't really find what I wanted so that's still on the list. I almost feel like I should start packing the things I have and I might feel more organized. I looked at the local 6 port cam today at PC and saw the magic docked. I could just imagine the may repo cruisers all boarding and the excitement that everyone is feeling as the ship gets ready to sail our way. I hope they're planning some kind of celebration when it docks in San Pedro. Well my day has begun, hope everyone has a great weekend, talk to everyone later. Robin :goodvibes

Anyone else check out the live from the Magic repo thread? What a treat, but it just makes me want to go even more. Now I'm in the mood for more shopping--forget laundry and cleaning!

Lisa- I passed on the email contact to Laura. Maybe she can pick up a few pointers on what to do onboard. If nothing else perhaps they can just chat a bit.

Audrey, how goes the Mickey head tags? I made some real simple tags by just peeling two Mickey heads off the paint chips and sticking them together with double stick tape. I laminated the whole thing and puched a hole for a clip to go through. Any other ideas? I'm going to experiment some more and see what I can come up with.

what a exciteing day this was seeing all the pictures as the magic left for LA our ship is on its way. A few of the pictures I have taken on our last disney cruise. Well it is going to be fun hearing about their trip across and I hope the May 28 cruisers give as much information I like to prepare ahead of time. We took a cruise a few years ago and someone send me the daily papers and I knew what to expect before I boarded it was really helpfull.

My disney Step-Son is 17 years old and looking to interact with someone his age before the cruise. He is into Anime (don't know if I spelled it right) and anything that has to do with computers. PM and I will forward his email. Thanks, Lisa

they have been posting a lot of good information on the may 14 repo thread.
Tea shirts went in about a hour. I hope that does not happen on our cruise we have earily dinner and shop does not open till 6pm, first nite. Once the may 28 cruise comes back we will have a good idea what will be happening on our cruise. Where we are going to meet ect.

Hi Everyone,

Just stumbled across this forum as I was doing some research for our upcoming cruise on 25 Jun. What a great bunch of people. Sounds like we will have good company. Hoping to hear from the early West Coasters about the excursions.

Wow, reading the thread about the cruise that left Saturday is just amazing!!! It has gotten us very excited for our cruise. I'm still kind of confused about all the meets that they are doing and talks about gifts they are exchanging but sounds like they are having fun. It's interesting about the pins and how they are camping out, wonder if it will be the same way for ours?

Can anyone tell me the site that lets you book your excursions/Palo reservations/kids club stuff??? I can't find it for some reason.
Michelle

Welcome Pinaapple! Tell us a bit about yourself like where you are from, who you are traveling with, ect. We are excited also and waiting for the scoop frome the first couple west coast cruises.

Michelle, it very easy to make advance reservations. Just go to DCL's web site, there is an option called (I think) my cruise plans. You have to register and log in to get to it. You will also need your reservation number which will be on your conformation papers from DCL or your travel agent. From there it's quick and easy to book spa, Palo, excursions and register for the kid's clubs.

I do think we should plan at least one meet and greet, as I'd love to be able to put some faces to the names of the people I've been talking to for so long. Shall we wait until we have some reports from the first west coast cruisers? This is our first time on DCL so I am clueless as to a good place or time to meet.
