June 25, 2005 Mexican Riviera..anyone going with us?

We are absolutely here and I look at the boards every day. When the first of the year hits and I make the final payment I will probably start obesessing.

My daughter went and picked out her steer for this year. All 300 pounds of him will arrive at the school farm this week. We are also going to raise a heifer who is due to have a baby next spring sometime (right before our cruise). We are off to Fresno State this weekend for open house (my daughter's college of choice) and since she is an A student and wants to major in Agriculture I think she will have no problem getting in. Still trying to figure out how I have managed to raise a farmer in the middle of the city.

I am taking a paralegal course to try to improve my money making capabilities, training to do my 11th marathon in New York November 7th and fundraising for the Leukemia Society and training for a half marathon in Phoenix in January.

My fiancee is traveling like crazy. His job has taken him to the east coast for two weeks, Las Vegas for 3 days and he will go down to LA for 2 days next week! All in October....

We will travel down to LA at Christmas to take a look at places to have our wedding on July 4th, 2005. I have a restaurant picked out and have reserved hotel rooms near the beach. My sister, who is a minister, will perform the ceremony so just have to close the loops. Will try to hit Disney for a day at least!

And so our busy lives continue. I can't wait for the cruise and watch the travel channel everytime I see that DCL will be on. Make my fiancee watch it to since he hasn't been on the cruise line before and doesn't completely understand my obsession!

Happy week all! Stay warm and dry.

Lisa

Glad to see I'm not all alone.;) I check the boards 2-3 times a week looking for any new info, but of course it's still early. Lisa, sounds like you are certainly keeping busy but that things are coming together.

It never fails to amaze me just how quickly the year slips by, omg it's almost Halloween. We are starting a full kitchen remodel soon. In fact, the new cabinets are due to be delivered 2 days before Thanksgiving. Our home will be a disaster area for most of, if not all of the holiday season, but it will be worth it.

Take care all,
Cheryl:wave:

Hi everyone!
I will also be on this cruise and I cant wait. Being able to just drive to the port and get on the ship without having to fly across the country will be wonderful. We will have a total of 4 rooms, my room will include myself, mother and aunt...room 2 will be my cousin, her friend and my 2 godchildren 12 & 8...room 3 will be my other cousin, husband, 2 children 11 & 4... room 4 will my brother and his friends. Most of us live about 10 minutes from Disneyland and my brother lives in Fresno. Can wait to go and each day is a day closer to paradise!

Welcome, trishamg, to our little thread. :wave2: Sounds like you are bringing the whole crew with you, lol.

We are ever so patiently (not) waiting for more info on what Disney has planned for these special cruises and are looking forward to experiencing the Disney touch. We've never felt we could justify the extra expense of DCL before, especially after you tack on airfare for a family of 4.

Only 7+ more months to go.

Cheryl

Hi everyone,

Got a few minutes, so I thought I'd give us a little bump up. Hope everyone is healthy and doing well. We are certainly keeping busy. I can't believe that this year is going by so quickly. Only 6 weeks to Christmas:earseek: , and I haven't even thought about starting my shopping! Happy weekend, all.

Cheryl

Well It has been a while since anyone has posted so I am going to bring us up front again. I saw this thread a few months ago but was unable to post on DIS board at that time. We will be joining you the disney magic cruise out of LA this is our second cruise on disney we took a three day cruise on wonder a few years back I am looking forward on the 7 day cruise to mexico. I will be traveling with my daugh and her children ages 4 amd 10 years old Husband says there are too many children on one cruise for him. We live in Santa Clarita also. Let get the thread going again.

Hey Audrey,

Sent you an email. I'm going to try posting again! Anyway, welcome aboard.

Hello to everyone else. Hope you all had a nice holiday and are enjoying the new year. I don't know about you all, but I'm getting antsy to hear more about what Disney will offer for these cruises. I'm especially interested is seeing what they will have for shore excursions. Looking at other cruise lines offerings just gets me more excited.

Our kitchen remodel is in full swing and I'm looking forward to having it done in a week or two! We have been without a kitchen for over a month now, we are so sick of microwave meals, take out and fast food, it is getting real old! I never thought I would want to cook, but I do, I do!

Take care all.

Cheryl

Just giving us a little nudge so we don't get lost. Looks like we are on the verge of getting all the shore excursion info! Yeah!

Cheryl

Lets start talking again I know everyone is our there so lets start this up again. We are getting there we only have 127 days till our cruise. I can't wait till the first cruise out of LA gets back. There are going to be some changes and I can''t wait to hear what they are. Looking forward in meeting everyone thru email till we go.

Anyone still out there? I was wondering how everyones pre cruise plans are coming along. DH has to work the morning of the 25th so we will be driving down as soon as he gets home. Thank goodness we are only an hour or so away from the port, don't know how I could stand it if it were much farther!

We live in Las Vegas and this will be our 2nd Disney cruise. It will be myself(DW38), DH40, DS11 & DS5.

1st cruise in July 01 was a huge challenge as DS16 mos was a handful with strollers, diapers, high chairs, cribs, etc. His is older now and I am looking forward to this cruise very much without all of the baby responsibilities.

We're also looking foward to being able to drive to our cruise, rather than flying.

The cruise 4 years ago was a big family trip with 12 of us - my brother's family, my sister's family and my mom. This trip is going to be just the four of us + any new friends we pick up along the way!

We are staying at the GC at DLR for two nights after the cruise & driving home on July 4.

Looking forward to meeting others going on the June 25th cruise!! - Joan :wave2:

Welcome Joan!

As a recap, it is myself DW, DH, DD 16 and DS 11 on this trip. We've cruised before, but this will be our first on DCL. We are all looking forward to this trip, experiencing the cruising with the Disney touch and the fact we don't have to fly for it. Time is just flying by and cruise time will be here before we know it.

Have you stayed at the GC before? You will love it, it is my family's favorite DL hotel, by far. Hope we get a chance to chat some.

Cheryl

Cheryl - we have stayed at the GC 3x previously and it is DS11's favorite hotel. The last time we stayed there was 2 years ago, the weekend of the POTC movie premier and we didn't get bunkbeds that we requested; but did get a park view. This summer I have a AAA rate for a concierge level room & I have requested bunk beds with a park view. I hope I get everything I ask for.

Lately when we go to Anaheim we have stayed at the Anaheim Hilton or the PP. Our last stay (President's Day weekend) we tried the Hyatt. I used to work for Hyatt (at LAX) many years ago but never had stayed at the one on Harbor. It was OK; they had a kidsuite room with bunkbeds that the kids loved.

Want to try to get to DL later this month! Can't wait to try the Buzz ride!! :Pinkbounc

Well we are making our final payment in a few days and all we have to do is wait out the countdown till we leave 65 days from today. I found someone at a meeting the other night that will be going on June 10 and even with others writing reviews I am sure it will be nice to hear about it from someone you know. Lets get this thread going again who will be with us on June 25.

My boys (9 & 12) and I are also sailing on this trip. I am so excited! I haven't told them yet, but plan to in the next week or so. We went to WDW for 9 days last May and I have been planning this cruise ever since. I can't wait to hear a few reports on the various excursions. I am planning on having my boys check out the kids' clubs the first day. I'm not sure how they will feel about being separated. But, OTOH, I am worried they will like it so much I will spend the week alone!

We are DL veterans. We have been AP holders off and on for the last ten years.

Hi all. Hope everyone is well.

Yes Audrey, the weeks are just flying by. I will be going to the TA to make my final payment tommorow. She already sent me a copy of the shore excusions along with the order sheet for them.

Welcome, Debbie! I'm sure your boys will be thrilled when you tell them about the cruise. I could never keep something like this a secret from my kids (dd 16 and ds 11). They are too nosey and I can't keep a secret, cept Christmas ones. Whereabouts in So Cal are you? I take it that this is your first time on DCL. This will be our first with Disney, though we have cruised before, last year on RCL and in January on Carnival.

We have a busy schedule the next few weeks with school, work and extra curiculars. We are sooo ready for a break. Laura (dd) is in her High School's production of The Sound of Music this weekend. It is just a small part, but the rehearsal schedule is a killer and she is so burnt out. Hey Audrey, you shoud come see it! They are at the theater at COC tonight and Saturday, curtain at 8pm, and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are availible at the door, only $10, and it shoud be a lot of fun.

Cheryl

I seem to be having problems posting am trying for third time.
this is a test to see if I get on so here goes

well that went thru I will try writing a longer post
First welcome Joan and Debbie I am looking forward in cruiseing with you.

We were on the wonder a few years ago and enjoyed it so we can't wait to cruise again. And NOT having to fly is Florida is a plus also.

Did you know that disney can show first run movies that will be in the theatre when we cruise since they owe them. The remake of Hebie the love bug will be opening the day before we cruise so we can see it on the cruise.

I have looking into excuises and also reading the board about what you can do on your own. The El Cid in mazatlan gives a free day pass to go to their hotel at the dock and if the taxi is not too costly I think we will do that. The 4 year old can stay at the pool all day.
This will be my 12 cruise and I HAVE booked both with the cruise line and on my own. I will keep reading the post and after the first cruise out of LA on May 28 we will get all kinds of information I hope.
CHERYL your daug play sounds great but tonight i have a meeting and we are leaving earily on SAT to go to AZ we have a wedding there on Mon. I have never been to scottsdale,Az and am looking forward to going.
Well ladies lets keep in touch and lets hope I can get this thread to go thru this time. And where are the people that started this tread everyone should have their full payment in now join us again.

Made my final payment this morning. Have a total of 5 (Me, DF, DD, DS, and daughter's friend) in two cabins, my mother and step-father in another and my future father in law and his wife in another. So three cabins total. Looking at excursions now but have a problem with the fitness of some of the family so will have to make choices that can include most. More important will be getting married 2 days after the cruise so I have to finish that planning too!

Made my final payment yesterday as well. Boy did that feel good! :cool1: This year is just flying by. DD play went well, got rave reviews from everyone. I think she's been bitten by the "bug" and will try out for the fall production also.

Hey Lisa, it's been a while. How are wedding plans coming? Got to run and get to work now.
