June 22 Magic (Western)

Happy Mother's Day to all the June 22' cruisers!!
Yes, I am too waiting for that Fed Ex package to arrive. It just makes it all the more real that we are cruising again.
Joannel I am so jealous. Pina Coladas by the pool yum!
We have a subdivision pool but it will not be open for another two weeks.
Cam, so much to do before the cruise. I too need to make a trip to the mall for a bad needed update to my summer attire. I just hate the crowds and during the week am not much for shopping after working. We are in the process of cleaning, moving furniture and cleaning out the junk before my mother arrives. She will be here Memorial weekend until June 20th. My sister and nephew will be here beginning of June. Needless to say I have to be pretty much prepared for cruise before they come.

Glad to see everyone checking the boards. I can't wait to see what the inaugural western cruise people have to say about the cruise this week coming up. Yvonne, hope all goes well with your house guest. Just keep thinking six weeks from today, we will be out on the deep blue sea sipping on a tropical drink and heading for Key West. Keep in touch.........

Thank you so much for all the packing tips! I'm sure that they will be highly used in the next few weeks. In some of my classes(mainly the most boring ones) I have already started a list of things i want to pack! I have to remember to save some room this time for souviners! Last time we had quite a struggle getting everyting to fit! But we all have new suitcases so hopefully we will have enough room. We keep wondering when the doc's are going to arrive? Hopefully soon!Whenever those doc's come, it signals to me that the cruise is close by! Just bought green ribbon last night. Happy Mothers day to all! Counting down the days...

Saw the Disney Ship go by in the MyCFnow web cam. Those people must be so excited to be on the first Western cruise with Disney. 6 more weeks and we will be there!!! Can't wait:bounce:

Hello June 22nd Cruisers!
I am taking a break from doing my lesson plans for my first graders for next week and decided to check the message boards. It sounds like everyone, like my mom and me, are anxiously awaiting the cruise. It sounds like TnRobin is having a great time! The weather is lousy here in Ohio - rain, rain, and more rain! I am taking my mother out for Mother's Day brunch and then shopping for some formal wear! Just six more weeks and no more lesson plans for three months! Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Castaway Cay here we come!

I believe in Disney Magic :earsgirl:and in Bowling Green State University hockey! :)

Just checked the Disboard and it sounds like TnRobin will be keeping us posted. I just checked the Mallory Square WebCam and the Magic isn't there yet. I did read that Robin said that the Castaway Cay Gift in her room was a Castaway Cay Beach Towel instead of the black duffle bag. Can't wait now. She did say that the Formal and Semi-Formal nights were going to be Monday and Thursday, both days at sea. Well have a great Mom's Day, heading to my mother's soon.

It is awesome to be able to see the Magic in Key West Mallory Square Webcam. Just caught the sunset, it was beautiful. We have a teen thread going for the June 22nd cruise. All you that have teens going on the June 22nd cruise, check it out so the teens can chat too. Hope everyone had a better day than we did, it poured rain all day!!!

Just for fun, took a look at the geographic representation of our 6/22 DISers. The following states are represented:
California
Connecticut
Delaware :D
Florida
Georgia
Indiana
New York
Ohio
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Tennessee
Virginia

Did I miss anyone's home state?

Oh how exciting!!!:bounce: Ralph stopped in at AAA last week and just to say Hi and said you know those documents ought to be coming soon. Hopefully our AAA Agent is in the day they do arrive. I am sure everyone should be getting their documents soon. Keep us all posted.

Hey guys check out Dave From Marietta's thread "Front Page News from Key West". Wow, what a great article about the Magic stopping in Key West. This is unbelievable that we will be sailing in 6 weeks. We are getting so excited!!!:bounce:

Hello Everyone!
New to DIS
But looking forward to participating.
We are huge Mickey fans. WDW 10x in 10 Years
With 2 New Years celebration visits(2002,2000)

This is our first cruise. What do we do? When do we do it? With so many choices of excursions... what's the ones we should do and what are the ones to avoid?

John, glad to see you made it to posting on the boards. Thanks for the email and we are all gung ho for this trip. Email me as I said with any questions. We are doing things on our own in Key West and Grand Cayman, but are doing a Catamaran Sail on the Cozumel excursion and our teens are doing the teen catamaran there too. Parasailing and Banana Boat on Castaway Cay are fun. We have already made the reservations for the excursions that we are doing. Well, don't be a stranger to the boards. We have a thread going for the the teenagers too. I think it is Teens on the June 22 cruise or something like that. Well, welcome and it is going to be a great time.

get on beach without paying for it? Are there other activities to do other than what Disney is offering?

We are planning on going with another family (our neighbor)... a mother with 2 boys, ages 2 yr old and 12 yr old. They are excited and ready to go!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

This is great that there will be several kids and teens there...they should have a lot of FUN!!

I guess I should be getting my package from AAA soon...has anyone?

John & Julie - We are probably going to hop on the Trolley on our own and go to Margaritaville, The Key Lime Pie Store, Hemmingway's house, Any other place of interest. You can get on and off the Trolley at your leisure. I will forward you some website on email that I have found helpful.

Hi, John & Julie!
Welcome to our thread! My DH (Howard-- "KeenHo") and I will be on the 6/22 trip without our kids. We all did the eastern itinerary last year and this year is a mom & dad trip. Heck, they get to go to sleepaway camp, right? Howard and I have been to Key West, Grand Cayman and Cozumel on a Celebrity cruise and loved all those ports. Castaway Cay is absolutely wonderful! We are doing the DCL 4 hour jeep excursion on Cozumel and have booked a trip to stingray city on our own. On Key West, we will just wander the island and have conch fritters and drinks at margaritaville. we are still deciding on someplace fun for dinner to celebrate Howard's birthday and will be seeing the sunset celebration for the first time (celebrity left port before sunset :( )
Looking forward to beach time in Cozumel too and there is a great restaurant called Pancho's Backyard. Grand Cayman will include a shopping spree for tortuga rum cakes :D
Have fun planning!

We have not received ours yet...did talked to AAA travel agent and said that we should receive it on the week of Memorial day or the following week...getting anxious...like a kid.

John and Julie:smooth:

We are excited more than our kids are. Hopefully the documents come soon and we won't have anything else to worry about except packing, flying in to Orlando and getting to the port. Then figuring out how to relax and enjoy a drink or two or three or four................Did I say that? Keep in touch.
