Ok...I've gone through all my settings, and cant figure out why you can't request me as a friend. I don't see anything that would prevent it....

I do have a hotel in NJ for the first night - Hampton Inn Newark Airport. The only big decision we have left is transportation to port, from port to hotel in Times Square, and then hotel to airport. Trying to decide whether to just plan on a taxi or booking some type of private transportation.

Newark is very close to us ~ not much to do there, just plan to stay in the hotel and relax (it is not the best area to go out site seeing but the airport area is not bad) Not sure on pricing but I would price out car service vs. the DCL shuttle ~ do you need names of car services in the area? I can ask my husband who we are using (that is the ONLY thing I left him to take care of)

On the way back to the airport from Time Square you may also want to look into NJTransit (which is not far from Time Sq) they have direct service into the airport, but depending on how much luggage you have that may be more of a hassle then it is worth saving the extra few dollars ...

Keep going, countdown clock! The cruise is slowly floating closer and closer. Less than a month for me (Silver) until excursions can be booked. Would like to go to NASA during Port Canaveral stop, but not for the whole day. Maybe NASA in the morning, beach for the rest of the day. Nassau was fun for shopping and a quick meal then back on the ship for pool time. Castaway Cay: floating blissfully in Serenity Bay, Cookies for lunch and an adult beverage...

My dad is my new cabin mate, traveling on his first cruise. Mom died in November so this is a bittersweet trip for all of us. It gives him something to look forward to as well as some work to do (applying for his first passport at 70+). He's already dreamt about fishing from our balcony!

Recycling fish extenders. Flowered one is mine, Mickey one is for my sister/brother-in-law/nephew. Thanks to DisBoards for instructions. No sewing for me, but I can measure, cut and iron.

Still thinking about a good FE gift, something fun and practical, maybe Connecticut-y. It's a great way to meet people and share some Disney Magic!

Love your fish extenders. How sweet that your dad is going with you. If you haven't already, be sure to include the FE information on our google form.

I watch my countdown ticker on my phone almost daily! I'm working on our FE gifts tonight. I think I've figured out most of them. I also plan to add something "Texas-y." Just haven't determined what yet....

We fly Southwest, and we're doing the 5 night before this one and 3 days in NYC afterwards so I'm predicting we'll both have 2 checked bags and our carryons... I'm an overpacker anyway and that's a lot of days....

I missed the Fantasy's arrival this morning on GMA. No coverage on NYC local news tonight, either. Found this video on YouTube: Fantasy with Ellis Island in the background, fireboat welcome and classic Disney horn blasts. Just think, in a little over 100 days, we'll be there too!

I keep looking for a live feed of the big event with no luck. Twitter is quiet, not tweets from DCL or Samantha Brown yet. Another thread was talking about who would be a good "godmother" for the Fantasy.... Samantha would be great, she's always doing Disney media and travel shows. I'd love her job!
