Greetings all! We just returned from Florida (still trying to figure out which way is UP

), but I wanted to say thank you to all of you for the fabulous FE gifts; my kids were very excited to return to our room and receive them! It was also great meeting those who were able to make the meet-up on the first day--it was nice bumping into people we "knew" throughout the cruise!
As for the cruise itself, this was a wonderful experience for us. It was our 3rd cruise and our longest. We had a navigator's verandah (past cruises were Cat 9) and I have to say, while we really really loved having that verandah and experienced some spectacular mornings there, in the future I think we'll go back to Cat 8 or 9 to save the money (for excursions or more WDW time).
We were very pleased with our servers this cruise, our main server Rolly has been with
DCL for almost 12 years! He was terrific! And our assistant Tobias always kept our glasses filled PLUS he spent alot of time with the kids at our table (we are a family of 5 seated with another family of 5, so 6 kids total), giving them brain teasers and otherwise keeping them laughing. And, I must mention that the main dining room person (Tektas?) always made a point of visiting our table each night to check on us; this is a first, as the past 2 cruises we never even saw that person.
Palo brunch was lovely; I think the "vegas" in us is simply burnt out on buffet-style dining though, and we wished we'd gone for dinner instead. But then again, we had such a great time with the family we were seated with: a couple with 3 girls just one year older than each of our 3 boys! My boys were a bit shy at first but the girls were very friendly and soon they were all chatting it up as if the parents weren't even there!
So all in all, a great cruise; did have one not-so-magical moment with the Oceaneer Lab staff, but I think it was more of a training issue than anything else. In fact, it seemed like there was quite a bit of peer-to-peer training going on throughout the ship, and I wondered if it had to do with training for the Dream?
Now for the unpacking...

'til we meet again!
