Tentatively we are on this cruise too!!!!!:cheer2:

It is a weight loss incentive cruise for me!:thumbsup2

we are doing a Biggest Loser competition through DH's work and part of it was meeting with a life coach. I mentioned eating out and $ and she mentioned it would be a good idea to look at how much we spend on eating out. This past month (although it includes holidays) we spent $500.:sad2::scared1:

so today I am on the elliptical and started thinking... what if we save that money and go on a cruise on the Dream.... Mention it to DH and he says why do the Dream since it might not be as good as the Fantasy (we did a Fantasy cruise last year), so of course I RUN with that comment and now we have picked this cruise to go on!!!!

In order for this cruise to happen I have to keep losing weight and of course come up with the $ for this... It IS expensive! I am just so excited at the possibility, I can hardly think of anything else!!!!!

Can't wait till I can actually book it, but if you don't mind I am coming along on this ride on this thread to keep motivated to loose weight.

This will be our 4th cruise. We did a 3 night on the Wonder, a 7 night double dip on the Magic, 7 night Fantasy Eastern last year.

It will be me, DH, DD (15 at the time) and DS (19) at time of cruise.

What a great incentive to stick with your weight loss plan! Good luck and hope you join us on the cruise. We'll try to help you stay motivated! :goodvibes

Are you cheating on us already??? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I was looking at this cruise date as well. ;)

:rotfl2::rotfl: I guess I am a serial cheater. I better sign up for cheaters anonymous. :confused3 We are usually 2 years ahead on our planning. We are working on getting to platinum status. This will be our 10th cruise. :cool1::cool1: Come on and join us in visiting Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel in 2014 after the 2013 Fathers Day Eastern Fantasy.

Thanks everyone for the positive, motivating comments. today I am down another pound so I can change my weight loss clippie to....

:wishtwenty

I am happy!

I also joined the Facebook group, but not sure of what to do with it?:confused3

Until this past week, we didn't do Facebook at our house. BUT we found out DD had sneaked a FB account and she was punished for lying but decided to let her keep it and I have full access to her account. On our last cruise the FB group was way more active than the DISboards page so I decided to join FB today just so I could join the group. But DD had to help me with all of it.:rotfl: So, please be patient with me as I have no idea what I am doing on FB!

my last cruise, the facebook page had a lot more activity on it as well. i think both of our pages are quiet now because its still a ways out and the prices are high!!

Hi there,

I have a question about stateroom 8188? How in the world do I reserve this room!? I think this is by far the hardest nut to crack, lol. I spent time on the phone with Disney and they were useless. All I want is not to have the experience we had two years ago and that was the navigator veranda BS, yes it's the abbreviation that means bull. I don't want to get The bait and switch bs from disney again this year as I feel this is our last attempt at dealing with Disney. Does anyone have the method by which I can secure a reservation to a room I want??

Thanks.

I'm not sure why you think there's a trick to this - didn't the Disney rep tell you it was already reserved? I tried to reserve 8188 myself for this cruise on opening day and it was already taken. Seems a fellow Dis'er on this thread beat me to it! :) So I got the room right above it. I was lucky enough to grab 8188 for our March 2013 Fantasy cruise; booked on opening day and was obviously the first one to ask for it.

There's no trick or special method to reserving any room on the ship; you just need to be the first one to request it. But fortunately there are lots of great cabins on the ship; hopefully you can find another. :goodvibes

Edited to add: I just read your post in another thread about the 5E cabins. It sounds like you booked a November 2012 cruise and were unable to select a specific room. That probably means that the ship is nearly full and that you reserved a GTY cabin, which means you will be assigned a cabin by DCL when the sail date gets closer. You can only book specific rooms until the ship reaches a certain percentage of availability (no idea exactly what that percentage is), after that Disney assigns them. You can not pick a specific room if you book GTY (which may be why you feel Disney wasn't helpful). But you are guaranteed a cabin at least as good as the category you reserved, and people often report getting upgrades to higher categories.

Sorry but for this cruise I have already reserved 8188. This stateroom is very popular therefore about the only way to get it is to book it on day one of bookings. I booked it the morning of the day 1 bookings. I would not let not getting 8188 ruin your cruise. There are plenty of great staterooms on the Fantasy. I would check out this link http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/cruise-new/roomlist.cfm for DISser's reports on staterooms. This will help you avoid rooms that may not work for you. For us we would not stay on deck 10 below the pools. CMs move chairs around on the pool deck at all hours of the night and there are many reports of noisy staterooms on deck 10. Hope you find a great stateroom and join us for a great time on the Fantasy. Have a magical day.:thumbsup2
