June 2025 Refurbs

Not sure completely but people have said it's typically 14-17 days before the start of Halloween. That would place it going down around August 4th and going back up on the 22nd. We're there the 2-6 and it sucks we'll maybe get 2 days if we're lucky.
Yikes. Thanks for the intel. We are there Aug 2-7 (first trip to DLR!) Will make sure we hit up HM early. Thx!!

We should know pretty soon once the dates of August start to become active on the calendar. I hope it's open for the time we're both there. It honestly is a bit maddening that they've moved up Halloween to that early of a date for an overlay that's basically Haunted Mansion Christmas.

None as of now.

Disneyland

Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room: April 28 to ???
According to the Orange County Register, the entire attraction is getting updated and the trees in the waiting area are being rebuilt and refurbed and the refurb will be a few months. I suspect Tiki Room will be down a minimum of 2 months but possibly up to 3 months or longer. Expect a July or August Reopening...or at the best case scenario by the end of June/before July 4th.

Chip 'n' Dale's GADGETcoaster: May 19 to June 12. Reopens June 13.
Expect a 3 to 4 week refurb.

The Disney Gallery: Reopens on July 17th.

Matterhorn Bobsleds: May 5 to ???
My sources say a minimum of 2 months. Expect a July opening date or worst case early August.

The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln: Reopens on July 17th with the new Walt Disney exhibit.

See Tinker Bell in Pixie Hollow: Supposedly reopens June 1.
Back on refurb through June 12.
I do not trust this since Disneyland keeps pushing the date out. Stay tuned.

I will update accordingly when new information becomes available.
Does anyone know if the bathrooms near the Tiki room are closed, too, or are they just working on the inside of the attraction?

Grizzly River Run is down. Water is drained.

Radiator Springs also down.

Guardians of Galaxy has had only two elevators working.

Skip DCA if you don’t have a hopper…

Whoa! What happened? Did someone dump something in the water?

I’m not sure. It’s been down since we got here early today and the water is mostly drained. I think that’s a pretty good guess.

Anyone have any more insight on the Matterhorn or Tiki Room renovations? We'll be in DLR for three days towards the end of July. As of now, the calendar only goes out to 7/14 but it shows both of these as still closed. I'm also seeing Star Tours down starting 6/30 and Pixar Pal-A-Round down starting 7/14.

I can live without Star Tours and Tiki Room if I had to (we're WDW vets, and can see those in our "home" park) but I'd be bummed if the Matterhorn was still down as I don't know when we'll get out to California again.

Ah, thanks for this information. I was starting to look at wait times, and was wondering why Soarin' seemed so high. This answers my question.

No insight but Matterhorn goes down most years now for month, it has big issues but because of OSHA laws they can't rebuild the base without redoing the whole ride so they have to keep it down most years for months to work on it

If we get lucky it will be open when the Halloween season starts but I would not count on Tiki Room or Mattehorn being open for a while

Would love to be wrong but Disney lost alot of great people during covid and so its been a struggle to get things up and running for as long and in short periods. Its I assume part of the reason the tinker bell area is still down.....for like an entire year

This was a long planned refurbishment. It was reported in January that permits were issued to replace the ride’s fall protection, replace the surveillance system and do some cosmetic upgrades. So, the ride will likely be down for awhile.

They’ve pushed back the planned start date several times, most likely because of the large number of attentions that were down. As we discussed earlier, now that Halloween and the Holiday Season have surpassed summer as the busiest, they probably think it’s acceptable to do the work now so it’s up later.

Matterhorn is supply an old roller coaster. Disney couldn’t economically replace the base - it’s not an OSHA thing. Look at Knott’s, which is spending more money to upgrade its legacy attractions that it would to replace them.

Most of what Disney does is based upon internal factors, namely cost. But many Disney communities will blame things on external. For example, the reason Paint the Night went on hiatus was almost unquestionably due to its large production cost, yet the internet wants to blame it on OSHA, even though there’s no evidence to support that. Disney has well over 1M sq ft of storage in Anaheim and Ontario - sunk money was spent building out PTN and it costs them very little to store it.

The Matterhorn is nearing the end of its life. For those lucky to be around for the 100th celebration, my bet is DL would look vastly differen.
