**June 2016 check in**

Starting packing today!

I plan on making piles of clothes that we are going to pack up, don't plan on actually packing for another week or so, but it will be a start...plus I got all of the suit cases down from the attic (it always puts a smile on my face whenever I see the suit cases down from there). Since DD15 is out for the summer, she and I will be going through our closets and pull out all of our clothes today and DD12 already says she plans on going through her closet during her 4 day weekend that she has this weekend, and more then likely I will be going through DH's closet since he has been working a lot and probably won't have time to do it himself.

Sorry if I missed it above, but are there any closures (besides everything for Star Wars land) in the last week of June?

Is it looking like 9 and 11 park closings that last week too?

Thanks!

I checked the 27-30 (all that is on the website) and nothing else is showing down.

Yes, the June hours are 8-11 at DL and 8-9 at DCA during the week.

So I decide to ring in the summer by heading down to the Jersey Shore, and what do I find?

I was almost beside myself; I think I ended up getting 2 whips and a float; heh; it was so surreal getting one without any wait whatsoever

These next three weeks are going to crawl...

I'm going week of June 13th. Anybody worried there is going to be several cuts due to Shanghai? Like longer lines due to less staff or not doing rides at full capacity? They already cut Soundsational parade. I'm a little worried it will be a crowded mess.

from what i understand, it's always a crowded mess during the summer; if there's any sort of difference, it's probably not going to be very noticeable

who knows; maybe them getting rid of certain parades and fireworks shows and reducing hours was them ensuring that there's going to be enough staff members; I guess we'll all just have to wait and see

Well, I don't have much choice at this point. :confused3 Since we've never been, we will just enjoy what is there in whatever form we see. We have 3 park days spread out over the week, so the main thing is catching Soundsational and Mickey and the Magical Map on our first day, since it is the only day they are being shown while we are there. They sound fun, but if we miss them, it isn't the end of the world. We are staying at VGC, so easy to get out of the parks if it is too crazy.

I'm almost done with my pre planning, I just need to order a Pizza Hut delivery for my arrival night, after an 11 hour flight landing at 6pm, I'll be in no mood to go out for food when I eventually get to my Downtown hotel. I also need to to get my ART ticket, which I will do the day before I fly and get it sent to my Downtown Hotel.

I have started little piles of holiday things and started changing my money into Dollars. I have taken out my California clothes and next weekend will start planning outfits.

That's a good mindset to have; I always look at things like this: you can only plan and worry and pre plan so much; eventually you're just going to have to let things happen; there's only so much you can do from a computer/phone

The best part about land I find is that just wandering around and absorbing everything is almost as satisfying as riding rides; the atmosphere is second to none, it has this cozy, lived in feel to it that you can't sense in any pictures

I remember my first time there there was a 4 hour stretch of time my last day there where I just walked around doing the whole "pinch me, I'm dreaming" routine...then I saw that Indy had just opened up after being shut down for a while as I was passing by, and that sort of changed that (heh)

I'm waiting on some clothes I've ordered to come in, picked up some new summer stuff for DH and the kids (my kids have outgrown all of their shorts since last summer)...need to get flip flops for the three of them, and make DH try on his swim trunks. I guess I have to make MYSELF try on my bathing suit as well, but I'm avoiding that like the plague!!

I'm weirdly afraid of not packing enough appropriate clothing for everything we're planning to do. Parks, whale boat, LA day...I know we're going to look like tourists, LOL!!
It still doesn't feel real, even though the countdown proves otherwise!!

I have heard great things about Marris pizza and they deliver also

Count me in as well! I will be at Disneyland on Thursday June 9th! Just making a day out of it. Starting in Disneyland with breakfast, then doing dinner in downtown disney followed by California Adventures in the evening with dinner and World of Color :) It will be a long day, but worth it :)

We are 15 days out and my niece is super excited. I take care of her in the mornings and drive her to school and this morning she couldn't stop talking about the trip! It's so cute!

Over the weekend I bought the last of the toiletries and things I needed as well as some glow bracelets and things for nighttime! I also made our matching shirts and her birthday shirt!!!

Can't wait!!!!

For anyone who may not follow DL Prep School announced Mickey and the Magical Map and Soundsational Parade will be on daily schedules for the summer :)

Not until July though! They are not scheduled during the week in June, unless they are going to add them, but I have been checking every day and still nothing in June during the week.

I have asked her if she knows when the dates are they will be running daily, I don't think the calendar is always accurate for instance they don't have a schedule up for Frozen as of yet either...so fingers crossed they just haven't changed it yet!!
