**June 2016 check in**

Any of the June folks as annoyed as I am that Soundsational & Magical Map are on limited schedules?

Not so much those shows, but I am annoyed the Dapper Dans are only scheduled until the day we get there, and nothing during the time we are there. My father sang in a barbershop quartet, and I was hoping to expose my kids to it. I think my eldest might like it.

We are finally doing the single digit dance ....9 days until we are in our Happy Place!!!!

I'm already getting nervous, thinking I'm forgetting something major. I normally get three day weekends (I work 4-10s) and this upcoming weekend is only two days so we can leave Friday, and I'm freaking out about any last minute shopping. How did the time fly by so quickly?

But at the same time I'm so excited that it's been difficult sleeping!

I understand completely, and I still have 12 days left...last night I was having a panic moment, because I was just SURE we're forgetting something. I had to double check pre and post flight hotels in our departure city, double check our rental car, run google map trials of the places we're going, figure out when/where my SIL is joining us for a couple days, etc...

The "But, what ifs" were spewing out of my mouth like crazy, and DH had to talk me down.

I am late to the party, but I only booked about 2 weeks ago.
My DS 10 and DS 6 & I have APs and we are coming to the PPH June 5th - 10th, then heading up north to visit some local friends. This is our celebratory "schools out for summer" trip and I let the kids pick the hotel - so our first time at Paradise Pier and we're very excited!

Hello!!

I hadn't noticed a June thread yet, but if there's already one out there, feel free to redirect me!

And if not...well, here it is!!

We are WDW vets planning our first trip to DLR/DCA this June. We'll also be taking day trips around the area.

Any other June travelers out there?

How is the planning going?

Like I said, I'm used to the WDW way of doing things, so it's a struggle for me to wait around before booking dining and things, and trying to get myself in the mindset of using paper fast passes again!

I know what you mean, that is my dilemma too, I will be going grocery shopping for a few things until we leave, but I am not going my usual "Big" shopping because I want to clean out my fridge and pantry. We leave 1 week from today and I am carefully planning everything out....I even am planning on having DH cook out on the grill a couple of times too, especially during the weekend, since i have a couple of things in the freezer that can be cooked up .

As for our packing, we all have our clothes in piles that we want to bring and will be packing them in our suit cases starting either tonight or tomorrow. I thought I had everything bought (vanity wise) but my DD15 always seems to remind me of what I am missing , so the Target workers have been recognizing me whenever I walk into the store (just kidding, but it does feel like it). DD15 also finalized everything that she wants to bring and I did the same too while DD12 was enjoying her last day of school today, I just have to pull out all of the clothes that DH will be wearing since he is counting on me to dress him .

We are headed to the parks on Friday, I'm trying to stay upbeat and positive after checking the weather. I hate the heat, and it looks like it will be in the 90's. Just have to keep thinking that being in the happiest place on earth is better than anywhere else... even if I'm melting.

It is getting time for our trips....what are somethings you have to make sure you take with you and last minute things you have to get?...I always take dollar tree ponchos even in the summer, they came in handy last trip when we were in WoC wet zone!!!....my kids still need a few more pair of shorts each...do you guys pack jeans and/or long sleeve shirts for any reason??

We are leaving 117 on Sunday.... and it will be 85 in Anaheim- which sounds amazing!

We are not packing long sleeves- lows are in the low 60s, which is a little chilly, but we don't think we will need them. If we do get cold.... well, I guess we have to buy a sweatshirt!

I am bringing 1 pair of jean capris and a light jacket because of our whale and dolphin cruise. It supposed to be a little cooler on the water, so we have to prepare for that. I will probably have the kids just bring a jacket. DS wears shorts at the first available opportunity, so he would melt in jeans in CA in June, I think. DD has some longer shorts, so she may get by with that.

Okay, so we'll be at Disneyland June 12-16. Should we book our flight and room now? Oh, wait, we're driving down. Anybody know of a good hotel close to the park we can stay at? Should we make any reservations for meals?

Maybe it's a good thing my wife started planning this trip months ago, although with less than two weeks to go, she's getting pretty stressed about it. Don't suppose anyone can relate to that.

What's keeping me calm right now is knowing if we forget something, we'll have a car and a Target close by.

And new worry as of a couple days ago is our room type at HoJo. We booked through Disney, and on another thread HoJo answered my question about what kind we'd get and where we'd be located (generally speaking, not specifically), and said we could upgrade, but online it's saying they're sold out for our dates, so I'm looking at double beds for 8 nights. Not the end of the world, but still. Just one more thing to obsess about for the next 11 days!

My must haves
Flight socks - my flight is 10 hours from Europe
Rehydration sachets - as my Irish body does not like the Cali heat
neck pillow and sleep mask - for the flight
mini first aid kit with over the counter pain killers and plasters
travel adapters for my laptop and phone

Our trip is still 24 days away, but I feel so completely unprepared for this! I have my list of packing all put together, but I haven't started setting anything aside or even done any shopping for this trip. Most of me is super excited to get out to California (first time!) and see LA and the parks... the other small part of me is nervous (for lack of a better term) that I'm going to screw this trip up somehow. DH has done most of the planning for this one, whereas I do the planning for our WDW trips. I know I'm a bit of a control freak, so maybe that's what has me nervous, even though I'm pretty sure he has everything covered from our shuttle from LAX to PPH and back, to our dining reservations, to our tentative plans for checking out LA and even our park days. I just want to make this a great trip for our family, since it more than likely will be our only one to DL.
