June 2012 code watch?

It looks like we will have to change our travel dates from 9/29-10/6 to the first week of June. I have never been to Disney during the summer months-How hot will it be and are the crowds similar to April (1st week) crowds?, what steps do you and your family take to ensure that everyone has a great time in the heat?....I am not a fan of water parks
TIA

It's going to be hot but you live in Georgia so you are used to hot. We live in Louisiana and actually found it cooler in Florida in June than back at home in June. Actually that could have been just because we were having fun on vacation! :rotfl:

We bring those fan misters with us to keep us cool. You can buy them for pretty cheap ($2-10) before your trip. Remember to bring LOTS of batteries for them.

Also, just as a side note, Disney's Gay Days is the May 30 - June 2. I'm not suggesting ANYTHING one way or another but some people do like to know about different events that cause crowds.

We may actually be there at the same time as we are going June 8 -15!!! :thumbsup2

The best advice I could give anyone about dealing with the heat in June is "listen to your body". Take breaks. We don't do water parks either, but we will go back to the resort for a little while. Also, do the inside air conditioned attractions in the heat of the day. Drink loads of water!!!

We love June and can't wait until next summer.

I received a PIN in the mail today but only good through March. :sad2:

I called anyway to see if they would apply it to June. Nope! :sad2:

"Dixie" did quote me a price and said that she would "hold it in the system". Then if we get a PIN for June, it would be applied to that quote. This was a first for me. I didn't have to give a credit card or make a payment.

Still hoping for something for June!popcorn::

Yeah I would like to know that as well! We are going in June and would so love to have a nice discount. Our trip is costing us quite a big sum of money so we would love some help here. I guess time will tell. I keep watching and hoping.

I've read that email pins get sent to you from Disney Destinations. If I were lucky enough to receive one, would it look different than those monthly Disney Destinations emails that come w/ the subject, "This is your November HELLO"? I just want to make sure I know what to keep my eye out for! I don't always go through those "monthly hello" emails in detail, unless there's something that catches my eye...

WAHOO!! :woohoo:

This new discount brought my discount to 30% off with a savings of $837! I had a 20% off pin (room only) and this one actually fell during our travel dates AND we were already booked at the BC!!

Lucky day!!

I hope this new discount helps out others!!

This code definitely helps me! We were booked at CBR with the 10% AAA discount, now our discount is 25%! I'm so glad this came out. Now I can obsess about something else, LOL!

Morning all, there's a new special offer on the Disney site today which includes the first two weeks of June.

Thanks very much for posting!! I went ahead and changed our reservation to save 20% compared to AAA 10%. YEH! Every little bit helps. I'm not so sad now that no PIN has come to me!:wizard:

I am brand new to this. Planning first trip to WDW in June 2012. My wife and I Will be taking my 2 year old and 6 year old. How do you even get on a list to receive a pin or any discounts? Can AAA discount be applied with the above discount? Can I join AAA just to get the discount. Someone please help me here! I want to give my family a great vacation!

It is a much-discussed mystery about exactly how to get on the "PIN list", but the general tips include to browse on the WDW website, "save offers" of reservations, request a planning DVD, etc. I have gotten PINs before, sometimes when I need them, sometimes not. No, you can't combine an AAA discount with the above offer. This offer is better than is typically received with AAA, so you could book with this offer if it includes your resort of choice, and not have to join AAA (though personally I have AAA and use their discounts in lots of other places...). While it is not the best room discount I have ever seen, I think it is respectable. I am not interested in the "free dining" offers that sometimes are available, so this was just the sort of thing to make me happy!

Good luck!:wizard:

Great. We are just planning one of the Value resorts this time around. A little curious though, I had two saved offers in my account, and when i made the same request through this link, it ended up being the same amount. And the first offer was the same as it was when I saved it a week ago. We are planning on being there 6/10 - 6/17. Do you think since the deal ends 6/14 that the discount wouldn't apply to any part of my reservation?

Thanks for the information. I am usually pretty good at planning vacations, but for some reason this disney stuff is new to me and seems a little overwhelming! :Pinkbounc

The nights of the 15th & 16th will be at rack rate. They price each night separately. They used to give it to for the whole trip, but that ended a few years back. Only Free Dining still goes for the whole trip if your check in date falls inside their window.

dspud - I know how you feel. For our first trip, which we delayed until our girls were a little older at 7 years, we only went to Magic Kingdom so that we wouldn't be lost in the confusion!! Disney is magical, but you're right, it's a bit "different" to plan with lots of little tips and tricks everywhere. Once we got a few basics down, though, it was not only easy to plan, but fun to get a bit geeky with the details! We have been a couple more times now, and all has run smoothly. On the last trip we even hit the 4 major parks in one day as our trip finale - big fun just to try it! (not for beginners!)

In retrospect my thought about why it went well for us was that even though we prepared with lots of info, we didn't insist on every minute being filled, every ride and attraction did not have to be conquered, and if the plan varied a little, it was still OK. Getting a room discount to get things started can boost the confidence!

Good luck planning and enjoy your trip!:wizard:
