June 2012 code watch?

I had NOT booked which was driving me CRAZY!! I knew that my 180 day ADR window was coming up on Dec. 11th and I wanted to book before then so I could make all of the ADRs at one time...

but I had "saved" a reservation in my profile which is why I knew how much I was saving!!

it was a "room only discount", and as long as I priced out the separate pieces correctly (room, tickets & dining) I saved 33% on the room!!! The package I priced originally was around $6,420 (including insurance) and this one was $5,320 (including insurance)

We're going June 8-14

I'm trying to figure out the exact pricing on each piece of the package, but I'm kinda slow...:rotfl: and I keep getting distracted thinking about other things for the trip!!

COME ON DISCOUNTS!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo:

What is an ADR?:confused3

Just called.

No pin under my name. Darn.

Disney Destinations sent me an email yesterday which got me excited, but it was only through February which doesn't help. :(

Was it a PIN for February??? if so then CALL ABOUT IT!! I just learned that if you get a pin for a set of dates that you're not interested in, they still might be able to apply that pin to other dates, and those dates MIGHT be the ones YOU NEED!!!

CALL RIGHT NOW!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

someone else listed a website where you can enter in a pin number you're given to be able to enter in your dates and see if the pin is valid for those dates...if I can just remember which thread that was in...:headache:

Called today and had a 30% off pin code. We were booked at Pop so I upgraded to CBR and still saved a little. Hoping for a good discount code later on though!

Not questioning, just curious....what could come out that would be better than 30%? :confused3

Well, for us free dining would be better than 30% off the room rate. We're a family of 5 adults (well, Disney adults) so the dining plan would cost us $250/night. Riverside for our dates is $250/night, so with 30% I'd still be paying $175. I realize I'd be paying rack rate for the room, but getting $250 worth of free dining vs. $75 off the room rate has free dining being a much bigger benefit than 30% off the room rate.

Ahhh that makes sense. ;)

My DH was so burnt on TS restaurants last time that I don't think he would do it again even if it was free and our bill would come out cheaper that way. He HATED it......

I received a pin for 20% off. I thought that pin was only for me, I sent my email to my in-laws to show them what to keep an eye out for. And they call Disney and were able to use my pin. Which is awesome, but I was just wondering??

Can you explain this to me a bit better. We're going June 5 - 12. I booked this in August. I've looked for discounts and so far have found nothing. I keep reading these "pins", but I have my dense card on today and have no idea what you guys are referring to. Please fill me in briefly because I would love to get in on any sort of discount. Disney is not cheap so any money saved is a bonus to me. :) This will make my 9th trip to see the mouse. The best discount we got recently was 2 or so years ago w/the free dining plan. I've asked over and over why they never offer this during the summer months i.e. June/July and they didn't really give me an answer that I liked. :sad2: So, any advice is appreciated.

of course!!

I explained a pin in another thread this way:

"a pin is like a special coupon code that might be able to be applied to your vacation...

it might be for a discounted room or free dining, but normally when we talk about a pin its either an email or a postcard that is sent directly to you with the discount listed on that.

Instead of Disney just coming out with a public discount, this is like a personal discount - even though sometimes you might get a personal discount just before they come out with a public discount.

The pin I got was a "room only" discount, but I could have added dining and tickets to it "

We're mostly familiar with Disney coming out with public discounts, which means they run ads about it, post it on their website and we go crazy on this board talking about them.

and not everyone gets a "personal pin" from Disney - which is usually sent you either to your email or even mail - I've received both!

You always have the option to call the reservation number and ask if you "have a pin associated/under your name" - that's what I did to get mine. I knew I'd gotten a pin in September that was for Nov/Dec, but at the time I didnt realize that some pins can be applied to other dates and I let it expire.

But the nice folks here encouraged me to call reservations and ask if I had a pin under my name - the first time I called (a Friday night) there was NO PIN....but then I called again that Sunday afternoon and THERE WAS A PIN!! :woohoo:

and is no rhyme or reason why some folks get a pin, or even what type of pin they're given..

you can read on these boards that families who have been going to Disney for years and years never get pins, and other who get them all the time..

its just the luck of the draw!!

oh that's an easy answer!! Disney knows that we will come to visit in the summer months b/c our kids are out of school!! So, why would they offer such a good discount if they know that we're going to come anyway..:lmao:

they "normally" offer free dining in the months that are a little harder for them to get the families to come to b/c...

How was that??

Disney doesn't need to give discounts during summer because they will fill the hotels anyway.

Question - when you call and find out that you do have a PIN under your name, will they give you the numbers (of the PIN)? Reason I ask is I already have a reservation under AAA. If I have a PIN I need to get the numbers over to the TA so she can apply it.

We've taken nearly every trip in June, and we've never gone without a discount. Our last trip was in June of '09, and we booked with a pay for 4/get 3 days free deal. That discount came out in Jan. of '09. The trip before that we got 35% off rack rate.

We're planning another trip this summer, and I think it's just too early for the summer discounts to be offered.

Yeah, I know this, but I can't help but ask this all the time and shake my head while doing it. I normally go during Spring Break (teacher hubby), but this year we went twice and the 2nd was in June and he's such a Star Wars fanantic that now we've switched to June. I called and they said I had a pin issued on October 30 expiring in December. Never got the email. Not saying they didn't send it since they said they did, but I surely don't remember seeing it. I couldn't use the pin anyway, but I'm sure going to look more closely next time. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

Check your Disney destinations emails that's where mine was....my pin is valid for most dates until 12/2012 but must be booked by 12/25/2011...How big is the weather difference between spring break (April) and June looking to go in June next year because the rates work better for us then.
