June 2012 Car Rental Discounts/Codes

I am trying to book a car (minivan) for the week of June 20-26, I found a Thrifty price for 371.95/total cost.

Is this a goode deal...or should I keep looking? I used a Corporate Discount number... 004M001010

I have been "stalking" the transportation board, and found a great resourse in car rental savers, thakno you previous poster!!!

Thanks -
First time renter!!

I found a rate of $341 at carrentalsavers.com. It's through payless, which is offsite.

I can't believe my rate dropped again!

Renting through Alalmo for 12 days starting from June 28 - COST IS NOW $150(inclduing all taxes and fees)!!!!

This is using the costco codes and coupon.

I just cancelled our Expedia.ca ressie. I had booked June 23-July 8 in a standard @ Dollar for $232 CAD. I just booked at alamo.com using contract ID 7015504 and coupon AD2359FDF for $216. :cool1:

I'm down to $245 for a standard through Alamo for 15 days (6/15-30). It's dropped $55 in the past two days. I'm going to run out of ink printing confirmations!

Used the Visa coupon, Insiders code.

I just changed my reservation AGAIN. I booked with Alamo & used the Costco ID with coupon AD2359FDF. I am down to $205 CAD for June 23-July 8 in a standard.

Whoop whoop! Full size car with Alamo for $180 total June 1-10 with visa code and $35 off code. I provided my husband's driving info so we can use the kiosk. Can someone tell me how we use the kiosk instead of the counter????

Am I doing something wrong with the Alamo site? I can't get anything lower than $334. Here are two screen caps. I wonder if I'm putting the codes in the correct section:

Alamo is still coming up high for your dates. Try Dollar or Thrifty. they are both coming in at $163 incl tax on priceline for a standard.

Also - check out expedia.ca. A standard is coming up at Dollar for $107. Smaller cars are less.

Just an FYI to anyone using the Costco code, someone just posted on another thread that they were required to show their ID when they picked up their car

People can join the Alamo Insiders Club. Once a member you can fill out the rental agreement online, bypass the rental counter and pick the keys up at the self-service counter. Then you won't need to show the Costco or AA card. I have both cards, but no coupons so I'm going to do this just in case. I won't fill out the rental agreement until a couple days before we leave.

There's a link to do this (fill out form online and skip the line at the rental counter) at the bottom of the confirmation email that is sent out after you book a rental online.

Don't you have to visit the counter or the employees if there are TWO driving?

No. Just give them both driver's licenses at the check out booth. They can add the 2nd driver there.

I'm not sure what the big deal about the Costco codes is. I don't have a Costco card so I'm not using them, but I'm getting some great rates from Alamo without them. There's a $30 Visa coupon I'm using that seems to be similar to the Costco coupon code. I'm getting great rates with just the regular insider's code.

OK, just got a even better deal. I'm now down to $221 for a standard for 15 days. Rate is $65/week.

I use the regular Insider's code (log in before adding my dates). Then I used upgrade coupon AU2852SDA. It's an Insider's coupon valid for a 2 car class upgrade. So I'm paying for a Compact and getting a Standard (my confirmation page shows Standard). This reduces my rate another $20, which is better than just renting a Standard and adding the $30 Visa coupon. Found that coupon on Mousesavers.

looking for deals for June 12 to June 28 on a mini van...anyone have any luck? thanks

I'm doing really well with my rental as well....

I started with Dollar at $299 for a standard,
then got a standard with Alamo for $247,
now I've got a standard with Alamo for $180

My dates are June 30-July 13. I really only wanted to be with Alamo/National (I'm an Insider and Emerald member) for the second driver perk but I will take any in terminal company for the lowest price. I don't even need anything larger than a compact but the standard keeps popping up as the lowest priced car.

Forgot to add....I used Costco ID 7015960 and $35 coupon AD2359FDF. I later went in and added my Insider number to add the second driver perk.

My dates are June 23rd to July 1st. Got a deal for the 8 nights with dollar /thrifty for $141 tax included for standard size car. Full size is a little more at $164. Book direct at their web site, instead of Priceline.
Alamo was way way too much even with discount codes.
