June 2011!!

We just booked today! June 4-11 at AKL Kidani!! We have never stayed at a Deluxe before and are super excited!:cool1:

No way!! My old job did that and I hated it. When I got my Droid, I was able to get my Dis-fix on there,.

It really made me mad today. I had no meetings at school today, time to myself, I was done grading, and couldn't play on here. Boo! Oh well. It's a rare day when I actually have time to play on the computer at school anyway so I guess I can't really be too upset.

jasmine91, :welcome:AKV Kidani seems to be a really popular place this summer. Glad I booked my trip early. Congrats on booking your trip and staying at a Deluxe.

The master bathroom is HUGE and the shower in the master bathroom is HUGE!! The whirlpool tub was nice to relax in after a day in the parks! (With a glass of wine!)

You've convinced me. I'll bring a few bottles of DH's favorite Riesling down with us!! I keep telling him I can't wait to use that shower!!! It's so big I can throw a party in there!

Has anyone ever made good use of the kitchen? I plan on just doing breakfast for a few days and just getting the basic meal plan for the week. If we drive down, what's the best supermarket to hit up? If we wind up flying, is the garden grocer the only one that's allowed on property?

This will be our second DVC stay, and the first time we used the kitchen mostly for breakfasts, and a few lunches. This trip I think I might actually make a few dinners (easy things like frozen lasagne). The kitchens are pretty well stocked with pans and such, so it was great! Plus we were paying cash for our stay and the mousekeeper did our dishes every morning if we didn't clean them before we left!

We're still debating if we'll get a rental car (in which case we'll hit up the Super-Walmart or the great Publix nearby). However, I've heard good things about the grocery delivery services. Garden Grocer is one that has a set list of things and prices you can choose from on their website. Another is We Go Shop which will go to any store you choose and shop from a list you provide. Garden Grocer prices are higher per item, but has lower delivery fees. We Go Shop charges exactly what the store does for items, and has a higher delivery fee.

@anjalee6

We are staying at BLT from June 6 to June 21, so you can add me to the roll call! :goodvibes

I'm telling ya, it's HUGE!! DH and I could EASILY both fit in there at the same time if we wanted to, and we're not tiny people! :lmao:

YES!! We use the kitchen!!! We ALWAYS do breakfast in the room... if we do a breakfast out, it's usually a late breakfast, which doubles as lunch (like 10:30-11:00 a.m.) Cuz we're early morning park goers (rope drop, baby!) In March, we hit Panera when we got there for a bunch of bagels and cream cheese and had those every morning. Also got cereal, etc. Next time, we won't buy quite so many groceries since we had a lot of stuff left over that we couldn't take home with us.

We made BLT's one day (this time will get precooked bacon and just nuke it cuz it took forever to fry up a bunch of bacon!). Also did spaghetti one night (with bagged salad), tacos...

Next trip we plan on getting frozen or refrigerated meals from Costco (lasagna, pizza, etc.) along with the precooked bacon for BLT's. Will also get the bagels from Panera again (already have gift cards saved up from My Points!) We LOVE having the kitchen!!

Thanks for the roll call & ADR list, anjalee6! So funny that with all of us going to a lot of the same restaurants & overlapping stays, none of us are booked at the same times! But I see DisneyAsh is going to Yachtsman's first, so she can give me a review!:rotfl: I was wondering, did you guys book based on crowd level numbers or something? :confused3 Must admit I just winged it! (except for avoiding/using EMH)

DH and I went to Yachtmans on a previous trip and LOVED it!!!

We used the kitchen occasionally for the last trip for reheating meals and for making snacks, but I don't really like to cook on vacation. We brought a lot of food back to the room and just ate there. It's still nice to have the full size fridge for drinks and snacks as well as storing our ice packs from the drive in the car.

The tubs are my favorite thing. Glass of wine, a good book, and a big tub. What a great way to unwind after a long day on your feet!

How did I miss this thread for so long. We are taking planning our "annual" (missed last year - darn economy! ;) ) June trip.

We will be celebrating our youngest daughters high school graduation. Where does the time go and does she realize I never said she could grow up this fast.

We will be at BLT (MK view :cool1:) from June 13-17 and then we will be at Villas Wilderness Lodge from June 18- 23. From there onto Vero for 3 more nights!

Our ADR's -
June 13th - Chef Mickey at 6:20pm
June 16th - Liberty Tree Tavern at 11:30am
June 17th - Le Cellier at 11:45am
June 20th - 50's Prime Time Cafe at 6:05pm
June 21st - Via Napoli at 5:45pm
June 23rd - Whispering Canyon Cafe at 10:00am

Hoping the weather is picture perfect and everyone has the most MAGICAL time ever!

DVC Jen, :welcome: So happy to have you on board with us. I have added you to the list. Your graduation trip sounds wonderful!

Interesting turn of event in the Kleinberg house:

Back story: My DH just graduated in December with his BS in Middle Grades Education (Math and Social Studies). Since the economy has TANKED over the past year or so, teaching positions in Georgia are few and far between. Well.......... He actually had a job interview on Thursday!!!!!! And it went WELL!!! Fingers and toes crossed! We'll know something either MOnday or Tuesday.

BUT.............................he'll still be working until June 1st. Wait!!! Our WDW vacation begins on June 1st!!! So, we'll either have to cut our trip short or try to move some days to the end. Sigh....... of course Le Cellier is now booked for the entire week and we have ressies there on June 1st. BUT....if he gets this job then we'll be able to vacation more and possible even buy in to DVC. Soooo....I'll get over it and adjust my touring plan.

It's such a great touring plan too.......

So can you all please send up your thoughts or prayers (if you do) for Tom in GA to get the job at Renaissance Middle School??? Thanks guys!

Mary,

Sending prayers your way that Tom gets the job and some pixie dust too (it can't hurt, right? pixiedust:) . As a teacher, I know how hard it can be to find a job these days. It will all work out for the best...even if you don't get to go to Le Cellier this trip. Like you said, a job means even more trips...yay!

I have to keep reminding myself of this everytime my husband goes away to coach wrestling (I was having a hard time doing this today), that his wrestling paycheck pays for our Disney trips so without three month of a horrible wrestling schedule and no free time for me, we would not be going to my happy place later in the year!

Oh, we most definitely need some Pixie Dust! pixiedust: When I posted I thought that I should have added that as well. :)

I'll take a job for Tom over Le Cel cheddar cheese soup any day! :thumbsup2

Sending pixie dust your way. As a former middle school teacher, I'll also toss some extra patience his way, too ;) Not an easy group of kids to take charge of LOL

That's funny. I teach middle school and I think they are the best age to teach, but everyone always asks me how I can do it everyday. However, my friend teaches preschool and I think she is totally nuts! I think that and kindergarten are incredibly hard to teach-I would need the patience of a saint! LOL!

Tom LOVES that age. He says the same thing about me. I am a school-based Speech Pathologist serving Pre-K-5th grade. He says there is NO WAY he could do what I do. I say the same to him. He's so patient and kind and really seems to have a way with them. Funny enough we have a 3 year old and he says they're not much different from her. :lmao: Dealing with independence issues and defiance. :)

Ha! After leaving my middle school assignment, I taught at the preschool level and LOVED it! I'm now teaching in early intervention (birth-3) and officially have my dream job. In all fairness to the middle schoolers, I was teaching in a self-contained, center-based school for kids with emotional disturbance. Not exactly a fair representation of the middle school population as a whole.
