June 2011 Code watch...anybody in?!

If anyone is interested, it looks like Disney will be offering Individual Enrollment for their YES programs in June 2011. For those unfamiliar, the YES Program stands for Youth Education System. These are classes offered in the various parks about a variety of topics. My daughter an I participated in one this past July at Animal Kingdom and it was AMAZING! We had a GREAT time! The upside to doing these programs is you can purchase park tickets at a DEEPLY DISCOUNTED PRICE! For 2010, a 5 day Park Hopper pass with 5 visits to the water parks and/or Disney Quest was around $175. The rumor is in 2011, they may have resort room deals as well. Right now, you can't book any of the classes until November 15 but here is the link if you want to check it out!

I hope this info helps someone! I know I will be definitely doing this!

I've been a lurker for awhile and have found disboards to be THE SOURCE for Disney info! We just booked our trip. Staying at POR for 5 nights (june 13 - June 18) - 2 adults and 2 kids. This will be our first trip. We would love a discount/pin or whatever we can do to save money! We will be keeping track and keeping our fingers crossed that something comes our way. When will the park times and events be posted for June 2011?

Probably the last week of November. I'm sure you'll have a blast on your trip! :wizard:

We are going during that week too! It is our first visit as well and we are trying to decide between POR and CBR. What made you pick POR? We too are hoping for a pin!!!

Awesome! We can't wait! It was a hard decision, but decided to go with POR because it is smaller and for what we've heard about the food court at POR. We also liked the option to take the boat to DTD, and plan to do that since we think the kids will enjoy it. Really, it doesn't sound like you can go wrong with either! Good luck planning!

I'm dreaming of going back to The World next June. The last time we were there was August of '07 for a quick 4 day 3rd birthday celebration for our ds. Weird to think that we only had 2 children then and now we have 4! I REALLY want to be able to go for June 23-24. Our youngest dd's turn 3 and 1 on June 23 and 24th, respectively. Also, June 24 is our dozen year anniversary. :) It's a pretty magical couple days for us and 3rd birthdays are great times to go. ;)

I'm nervous about the cost. My dh lost his job in August and I went back to work, but I don't make nearly what he made. We also always counted on a big bonus check in the spring for him that won't be coming next year. But after the stress of this year, I really feel like we're going to need a good family vacation. We will drive from Wisconsin and stop near Atlanta to visit with dh's Aunt & Uncle before heading on. That's another big reason for hoping we can go next year. His aunt has never met the younger 2 girls and we really want to get down there sooner rather than later.

I'm hoping for some good deals that will make it possible for us to go. I'm certainly not planning on deluxe anymore, but since there's 6 of us, we don't have a lot of options.

Since your youngest is just turning one, you could do what we are planning for our next trip. We are also a family of 6, and we are planning to stay at POR with a trundle bed. Our kids are all fairly young and not large, so there won't be a problem at all with the 4 of them sharing the bed and trundle...and our baby will probably still be co-sleeping with DH and I when we go anyways.

We don't spend a huge amount of time in our room anyways, and POR was the least expensive option for our family (at least until our youngest DD hits 3, and then POR won't be an option).

I might be in! I have pretty much decided that since DD12 doesn't want to miss school anymore, and we always go to church camp in August, that June is now our only option. DD9 and I had a talk this morning and thought it might be wise to go before she hits the adult rates! :)

I want to go as early in June as the school schedule allows. Problem is, here we never know the last day of school due to snow days. I think the planned last day is 5/24, so even if we have 7 snow days we could leave June 4. Last year we had 9 but it was an exceptionally snowy winter. At any rate, I'd better wait till the winter is partly over to see how it's going!

Airtran's cheap nonstop flights from Des Moines seem to be mostly on the weekends, so I'm looking to leave on a Saturday and return Saturday or Sunday. But, their June flights are not posted yet.

So, I don't think we can get in on free dining now since I want to wait to see about snow days, and I probably have to fly out on a Saturday. The Saturday of Memorial Day weekend is probably going to be ruled out by snow days.

We are used to going in November and these June prices are looking high. Hoping for something great!

Haven't been on here in a while but back in October received a magical e-mail with a pin code that included our dates. I'm booked:dancer::dancer::dancer:

Is this the code that is good for a whole year? I am thinking if we don't get something we will try off Disney which I really don't want to do.

The % off and GC public offers expire Nov 21st. I am hoping for great deals to be posted Nov 22nd :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Just so everyone knows, I tried to sign up for the YES program today as the website said to sign up starting Nov. 15. It didn't work, so I called and was told now we couldn't register until MARCH! This is killing me because I don't know how I can plan the rest of my trip if I don't know how much my tickets will cost and whether or not to book a package with a discount...

Just wanted you all to know that if you want tickets, you will have to wait for a while longer! :headache:

I went to the website and read about the YES programs and they look great! I see how you can get the discounted tickets and their prices, but I can't find any information about the cost of the course. Am I missing it? How do you find that out?

The website is in a PP's post as a link. The classes are actually included in the price, amazingly, and the tickets are already discounted. There are a few catches but nothing that's a deal breaker...at least not for us. I called the actual head of the program, but she said maybe they'd be up by January. I gave her my e-mail and she said she'd contact me when they were available. I think it sounds great as it will save my party $500, we now get the water parks option AND my kids get to do an amazing behind the scenes, educational experience in their favorite place in the world!
Check into it! ;)

Hi all,
I'm subbing to this thread with a plan to go June 10th to the 20th. Location on Disney property to be determined after we see what kind of discounts pop up.

This article appeared in the Orlando Sentinel (see link below)

With Disney profits flat, and attendance at the parks down for the summer months I'm hoping that all that whomping by Harry Potter will spur some delicious discounts for us Disney Devotees during the summer months.

Nice to meet you all! :thumbsup2

I am now booked for June 1-6! I am using a 35% off room PIN code. I originally booked an early May trip, but I had to delay for work reasons. We are staying at the CR in a MK tower view room. I am so excited about staying at this resort. This will also be our first trip as a family of 4.

We're in. We just booked for POFQ at rack rate (yuck) from June 11 - 18. This is our first stay at a moderate and we hope to actually make it to Downtown Disney this time.
