June 2009 AKV...who's with us?

This will be our first June trip. Worried about the heat and the crowds, but staying at AKV will make it better. The kids love just watching the animals from the balcony, so the parks will be secondary this trip.

We are staying Jun 14-19 in a one bedroom SV.

We will be there June 14th to the 20th, I booked a 1 Bdr SV. I'll be there with my son, daughter in law, granddaughter (who will be 14 months) and my daughter.
June is hot and humid, I've been there the end of June beginning of July and you just have to be prepared. Pace yourself, drink plenty of fluids and use sun screen
I like to start out early in the am, do the early EMH and then back to the resort around 11:00 to go to the pool, rest,etc. Then out again in the evening when its cooled down a bit. Now going with a 14 month old may change things, but we will go with the flow.
The last time my son and his wife were in WDW was back in 2004, there have been quite a few additions since then so they are really looking forward to this trip.

I am hoping to switch to a AKV studio/SV on the 28th for our June 28-July 6th stay. It would be for two rooms b/c our best friend/family is coming too.

We will have our first AKV stay from June 21-28 in a studio SV. Can't wait! We went at the end of May a couple of years ago and it was very hot and humid. We are going in January as well so I think our trip in June is going to be more laid back. Lots of pool time! We may even try the water parks! I'm thinking we'll spend a lot of time checking out the hotel. The interactive water playground looks great!

We will be there this June--the 1st through the 10th in a Jambo House 2 bedroom Standard view--I just switched us over from our home resort (SSR) last week. We loved SSR, but also want to try the others. We were there last June (2-11) and frankly, I was prepared for terrible heat, humidity, and crowds, but I must have worked my mind up for much worse than it really is because none of the three seemed bad to us. The temps were in the low to mid 90s everyday we were there, but it just didn't seem all that bad most of the time and I didn't feel like the humidity was awful. (And I have lived in the desert of Colorado all my life, so it's not like I'm used to it.) We used Fastpass and never waited more than about 20 minutes for anything and in early mornings experience many walk-ons.

I think I just saw so many posts about how awful and dreadful the summer months are, so I had prepared myself for torture and it just really wasn't that way at all.

Just booked yesterday for a 1BR Standard View at Kidani for June 5-9! DH's birthday is June 7 and he wants to take in Star Wars Weekends! I'm SO hoping the new Kidani pool area is fully up and running!

We're staying in a 2br at Kidani, June 7-12. I just called yesterday, and the MS guide immediately said he had availability at Kidani. I wonder if Jambo is full during that time? I probably should have asked, because we often do fast food/carryout for supper, since our youngest doesn't do well in sit-down restaurants. It sounds like Kidani is going to be quite the hike carrying a tray of food from Mara back to the room. I really wish DVC would put a counter service place in each of it's locations. Unfortunately, not everyone has the luxury of being able to sit through a restaurant meal.

I booked a 1BR value for June 7-11 without telling DH . I told him that we will go IF I can find airfare below $800 for the 4 of us AND I have to lose 15 pounds! (That was my condition, not his )

We have a trip planned in April 2010 with my parents. I want to buy AP's (for the first time ever!) for June and then use them again in April. That would make our spring break trip in April cost about $1000 for the four of us! If we don't go in June, we'll have to double that budget since we'd need tickets.

Hopefully, we'll see y'all there in June! It will be the first time there for DH since we ate at Boma on our honeymoon in 2002. He loved the jungle juice so therefore, he let me buy at AKV!

I will be there with the family from June 7-14th. Will be staying at Jambo 1 bedroom till the 10th. Then off to the concierge 1 bedroom for the rest of our stay. I originally asked for the Kidani resort instead of Jambo but they had nothing available during this time period so I had to switch to Jambo. I was exactly 7 months out when I called for our ressies.
I, too never really liked going to WDW in June as being a Floridian it provided us other opportunities but since moving to SC this year we don't have the luxury to go as often as before. On a side note when I went to sign in tonight it showed the last time I did this was back on Nov 20th, 2007 almost 1 year ago, awee it's so nice to be back!
