June 2007 Rate/Code Watch

I checked availability for our dates June 28-July 12th. Out of all the Disney resorts the only ones that weren't available were CR and CSR. All of the other deluxes (GF, Poly, YC/BC, BWI, WL, and AK) and the other moderates (POR, POFQ, and CBR) and all of the values had availability in just about every level too (concierge, non concierge, standard view, water view, etc). I'm hoping that the next round comes out and at least covers up to July 8th (when regular season turns to value).

We didn't go to WDW in July last year but have the past few years, but have always found the parks to be surprisingly empty during the last week of July. (We go back to school the first week of August, so this trip is usually the last hurrah of the summer.) Oftentimes, we don't plan this trip until the very last possible moment. We've never had any difficulty getting the resort and even the view/level that we've wanted, including the WL 2 years ago. Of course, theme park attendance seems to be on an upswing; so there's no guarantee this will continue to hold true.

Glad to hear that about the last week of July as our dates are the 21st-30th.:cool1: I keep hopin we will catch some kind of a break.

I cancelled my original booking with WDTC and even joined AAA to book a package through them. We saved $236 using AAA - staying at POR for 8 nights at the end of June.

Good for you, we did the same thing this year and saved close to 400 bucks for our package, worth the 60 dollar joining fee in my book! :thumbsup2

I haven't read through all the posts, but was anyone able to book a AAA rate at AKL pool view for the period beginning on July 8th and forward? It might be worth it for me to join AAA.

Thanks

I have AKL standard July 14-21 with AAA room only.

PolyAddict, can you tell me what your rate is?

Thanks,
Melanie

I believe it was $184 plus tax a night. I don't have my confirmation with me, but I know I paid about $411 deposit on 2 rooms. So, I think that's about right?

Hi guys,

Just dicovered these forums. Hopefully they can be helpful for my June 17th to June 23rd trip! This will be my first time to DisneyWorld with the family (3 adults and 2 kids) I've contacted a few travel agents and the best rate I got was directly from Disney. The package is as follows:
Rooms and Tickets
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside

Check In June 17, 2007
Check Out June 23, 2007
Staying for 6 nights, 7 days
Adults 3
Children 2
Room Type Standard View Room
Tickets 7 Day Magic Your Way Base Ticket
Package Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining
Grand Total: $3,368.80

I think its kind of high but it was the lowest out of three quotes. I know June is a more expensive then other months so I'm hoping to get some discounts ;-)

Do you guys think I should book the trip now and wait for the discounts or should I wait??

Thanks

Are you a AAA member? You may be able to get a discount on your package by asking for the AAA rate. If you are, though, I'd call soon because they only set aside so many rooms at each hotel at that rate.

If another better rate comes out you can change.

I just called AAA about an hour and a half ago and the TA took my info for the dates 6/18-6/23 and then called me back to tell me that the AAA rooms in all teh values were all booked.

I''m beyond bummed because it would have saved me almost $150. Oh well, I guess i'll just book the Disney rate.

Try AAA. One of the above posted that theValues are booked, but there may be moderates still available with a discount. Could save you a few $$$. Good luck. Jay

If your 2 children are under 9, that price is high. Make sure you are not paying extra for preferred view & trip insurance.

I'm not an AAA member. Do you guys think it would be worth while to become a member to save a few $$$?

jjohnson, children are 12 and 7. I made sure I wasn't paying for a preferred room or insurance.

Also, I just checked and I can get discount tickets to the park ($230 for 7 days with park hopping) Is this a good deal? Is it possible to just buy the hotel and dinning plan from Disney??

Thanks guys.

I joined AAA just to get the discount. A primary membership costs $50/year plus a $15 application fee. They wave the application fee if you book a package with them. I saved $236 by booking a package with AAA. I would say that was worth it.

Just tried to book POP for my folks in July through AAA from the 17th to the 27th...all full.

To get the dining plan, you have to buy a package that includes at least a one day ticket for everyone in your party.

You can call and see if they have any POR rooms still available at the AAA price.....see how much you'll save by deducting the $60 you'll have to spend to buy the membership from your cost savings. In the past we've saved about $200 on a AAA package at POR.
