Hi everybody! How crowded was Disney during the June 2006 season. We are going in 2007 and just wandering....thanks!

Mr. Mike

I went the first week of June 06 and it was fairly busy. Not nearly as busy as other summer months, but busier than May or December, for instance. Wait times were typically in the 15 min range. Some of the bigger rides had up to an hour stand-by wait.

It was mobbed by mid-June. It got more crowded the last couple of days we were there. Lines were up to 2 and 1/2 hours at the major attractions and AK ran out of fastpasses by 1:00pm for rides. It was very crowded. The worst I have ever seen it to be honest and I have been there a lot! Summer is always the worst and the heat doesn't help. :sunny:

We were there June 13 - 22. The first week the crowds weren't too bad, the second week they definitely picked up.

We've gone many times during the summer and obviously the off seasons are better, but during peak times the parks are open later and we can always get done what we want to do. It just takes a little more planning and patience.

I am betting that things wo'nt be *too* horrible on 5/31 - 6/8. I'll be leaving the morning after my dd breaks from school for the summer

We were there June 6-14 and had a great time. There were a lot of people but I used a recommended best days chart, fastpass and knew when to hit the most popular attractions without waiting. It was great.

We were there 6/4-6/15 and it definitely was more crowded the second week of our visit. We go around this time every year and have found the crowds to be very manageable. We usually avoid the parks on their EMH days/nights and use FastPass every chance we get. My friend and her family went right after Memorial Day and she said it wasn't crowded at all so we scheduled our trip for 5/29-6/8 next year :sunny:

We've been the past two years in the middle of june last year was the 14th through 24th and while there are a lot of people with some good planning and a bit of patience for others it is manageable i guess it really depends on your outlook. We usually make use of EMH and that really helps but also we have only been in June so we know no different. But FYI we were able to ride EE at AK 5 times this last trip and twice in one day with no problems.Walkthrough on HM several times hit all the majors. Our longest wait was about an hour and 15 min and that was Space Mountain and that was only cause they were fixing it for like 30 mintues of that hour. So it is defintely doable, and this is with 2 younger kids 8 and 6. So its possible

Thanks for the information, everyone. We're going next June, too, and have to be there the 10-14, but can add days either before or after. Based on what's been posted, it looks like there's enough of a difference between early and mid-June that we would be better off going June 6-14, rather than 10-18, right?

That is correct!! The earlier in June the better! :thumbsup2

Another new June visitor! All the great advice needed! DS is in elementary school now so June it will. Our time frame will be around June 7-16th. We stay onsite so I think that helps alot :woohoo: We will have to wait to make ressies in Dec. :hourglass I just hope I can prepare my 6 yr old for the heat. His first trip was in April 2005. It was beautiful weather.

We went for a week June 4 - 11. I don't think it was that bad. We've been going the first week of june for the past two trips. We waited till the kids got out at the end of June a few years ago and it was a mob, not to mention too hot. Go the first week of June.

What were the temps like in Early/mid June? We are thinking of going June 8-16.

It was around 98 degrees at that time this year. It was 98 degrees outside at my wedidng on June 9. Expect afternoon rain showers every day. :)

We were there the last week of July through the 5th of July and it was BUSY. We expected it 100% and planned accordingly. We went in the AM, stayed until about 1:00 PM or so then headed back to the resort for relaxation and pool time. We then went back into the "park of the day" late afternoon/early evening.

The temps were bearable. Just lots of fluids and taking it easy...

Wow, thanks for all the advise. I think I will have to start planning asap! I cant wait though, it will be a blast! I just will have to have patience! I think Fastpass should help though. I heard the parks stay open long after closing hours with shops being open!

I must be delusional because I didn't think it was that crowded. (I was there June 18th-24th). :confused3 I've always gone when there were barely any crowds (January, February, etc.) and June actually ended up being my favorite time to visit Disney.
I was expecting it to be really crowded with mobs of people because it is summer and I've always heard that summer is very crowded. But I was so surprised by how not crowded it was. We hardly ever waited in any long lines for rides or counter service. The only time I experienced very large crowds was for the monorail to the Magic Kingdom in the morning. I'm not saying that it wasn't ever crowded because sometimes there were longer waits for rides. (but I didn't wait in lines because I got up early, used fastpasses and had a plan..which is something you should do also :) ) But I didn't think that the parks were mobbed with people and there were times when it wasn't crowded at all.

It was the best trip we've ever had although it was very hot. I'm crazy though and love the hot weather. I love the long hours during the summer because it gave us all day to enjoy the parks and take a break.

My advice would be to get there before the park opens, have a plan, decide what you want to accomplish for the day, take a break, don't push yourself to get everything done in a day, and drink lots of water. Oh and have fun! :thumbsup2

Just look at the horrible crowds in Italy ;) (my excuse to share a Disney picture)

Went May 31-June 8 in 2006, and it was pretty warm! Parks were more crowded than I thought they would be, especially MK and we did not go to any parks on Sat and Sun. Would suggest you 1) Skip parades in MK and ride the rides during those; 2) Split MK up into two visits if you want to see the parades. You spend soooooo much time "lining up" to see them and waiting, and when it's hot and sadly, rude people pushing, it almost wasn't worth it. Drink plenty of water!

Tried the EMH in the evening and it was very crowded, more than you would think with just "resort guests" getting to ride the rides.

However, it beat working! ;)

We're going 2-8 June. Good to hear the crowds aren't too bad in early June.
