June 20, 2009 Magic

Any DD who wants to email my 13 year old daughter, Rachel can PM me their email. I can't PM anyone yet as I don't have 10 posts yet.

I am in favor of a meeting of our disboard group. I think it would be a great way to start the cruise. I hope I meet some at the Hyatt airport the night before!popcorn::

Welcome to the new people. Glad to have you all with us. I was begenning to think that there weren't going to be manny little girls in the group, we still seam to be very short on 9 year olds. There are a lot of boys I noticed. My point is that if anyone would like to make contact with Bethanie 14 or Caitlin 9 they can PM me and I will get those addresses to them.

Bethanie is a typical 14 year old, she is out going and spends a lot of time on her phone. She will be entering highschool in the fall. Not into sports at all but likes dance and is hoping to be on the cheer squad. Caitlin will be going into the 4th grade. She is a little shy. She likes to swim, dance and do art work. Both girls are really getting excited about the trip, and looking foward to meeting new friends.

Thanks so much Amy for all the updates. I am so bad with names I will be the one walking around with list in hand to keep everybody straight.

What time is everybody getting to the port. Most times we get there when it opens. We are lucky we only have a short drive down that morning. So if anyone forgot something and we have it at home I can bring it.:cutie:

We arrive at the airport at about 11:20, so we should get to the port before 1. We'll hit Parrot Cay and then get in the room.

After 6 or so cruises, we've never done the sail away party. e might try to do that this year.

Can't wait!

We're due to arrive at MCO about 10 minutes before you, Amy. Maybe we'll get to meet up at the airport...or if you're taking the DCL transfer busses.

I have 12 Familys on my fish extender list, with 11 girls and 10 boys. Am I counting right.

Any kids having a birthday on the cruise. I think I remember Patrick turns 9 with DVC Mary. Any one else?:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Lynn, I came up with the same totals.

Since I'm trying to get organized, and as "Excel needy" as I am, I have the FE list in .xls format. I've also amended the spreadsheet of daily events that Drea (anewmac) provided in a previous post.

Should anyone want a copy of either, just PM me with your e-mail addy and I'll be glad to forward.

I know we have teachers onboard? What other occupations? Hobbies? I mostly help at both schools, with our budget cuts I am there all the time. My husband is into flying and anything with planes.

I know a couple of people have expressed a thought about having a general "DisMeet" the first day. Is there any interest in trying to get a gathering set up?

If so, we may want to start looking at possible meeting times/locations. From my limited experience, we could be looking at the 2-3 PM hour Saturday afternoon (before the safety drill)...since I'm sure people would like to have that first meal and show Saturday evening.

Haven't been posting on here for awhile, I realized today, so I better catch up!

Regarding meeting up the afternoon we board the ship, we're going to take the DCL bus from AKV, so we probably won't get to the ship until 2 or so. (at least, that was the time we arrived last year for our 4 night cruise on the Wonder). We'll need to grab a quick lunch, so meeting at that time could be a bit rough for us.

We have a birthday girl (but her birthday is the day we get off the ship, so we're taking her to WDW - shhhhh, it's still a surprise!). I know I'm gonna slip up and say something to her!

We have our shore excursions for Tortola, the island tour for the us girls, while DH scuba dives, and on St Thomas, we're all doing the doubloon snorkle. We're going to try and find this rum distillery on Tortola I read about that's supposedly 300 years old, but if we don't, we'll just explore the island a little!

Six weeks to go!

I am a reg nurse and work in an intensive care unit on the night shift. I love movies and probably have the worlds largest home movie collection. I attempt to do crafts and scrapbooking (I am not very good at either). My grandaughters are a big part of my life. I try to spend as much time with them as I can. It has been hard since we lost their mother 2 years ago.

I also love to travel as much as I enjoy taking the girls on trips I need to find someone who can pay their own way, or I will soon run out of money to spend. As you can probably tell I am a couch potato in a big way. I have good intentions when it comes to exersise but I can think up great reasons for not doing it.

Michelle has recently taken up golf, she has always been active in sports. She tried to get the girls to be active in sports also but to no avail. They are too much like their mother a girly girl from the monent of birth. Michelle is also a computer geek (just my opposite).

My husband was in the U.S. Air Force Reserve for many years as a specialized firefighter. He is pretty good with "plane knowledge" and would enjoy talking to your hubbie. Also, my dad was in WW2 in the Army Air Corps and was also a private pilot. I grew up on planes and flying so we would have a good time talking! Tell him to look us up if he wants to talk planes!:cool1:

I am up for a meat on Saturday afternoon before the safty drill. It doesn't have to be a long gettogether just long enough to put some faces to names. Or we could arange to get together on a evening after dinner at one of the culbs. We did this on our last cruise and had a very enjoyable evening.

We are up for any time/any place. Just let us know the specifics. I think it would be a great idea for the first day/night. Maybe we could get some cheap sticky name badges???????:yay:

We will be taking the busses. If you see a huge gang surrounding a grandma in a wheelchair, that's us :-) We are flying Southwest to MCO.

I just read on the FAQ that we do not have to get up early for the all call for customs in St Thomas. I hope that is true. Lynn:cool1::cool1::cool1:
