June 20, 2009 Magic

We have been enjoying WDW since Tuesday and having a great time! Can't wait to get on the Magic tomorrow!

been here in cape canaveral for 2 days now....pretty warm, we watched the wonder sail out of the inlet last night...pretty cool

Hope you all have a great time this week!!!!!!!! Im a lil sad we backed out now. Cant wait to read some of your trip reports after!

We leave today!!!!!:banana::yay::cheer2::banana::yay::cheer2::banana::yay::cheer2:

My whole family is sleeping. I'll need a major nap by the time I get onboard. DS has swimmer's ear & we spent 5.5 hours last night getting him seen at the hospital & then driving to find the 24 hr pharmacy in Kissimmee. After that I glued/cut door magners (finally). I packed some of things DH didn't last night.

Now I just need to drag youngest out of bed to go get his b-day gift card at Guest Services. Since we're AP holders & today's his b-day, he gets a gift card worth a 1 day park pass.

If anyone actually reads this, I'll be the one falling asleep standing up in a blue & white Mickey hawaiian style dress.

I can't wait.......:cool1:

Just watched you all leave out of port. Awsome! Can't wait for July 18th.

Hope it is a great cruise for all of you! Sad that we had to cancel, but all worked for the best.

Thanks everyone for a great cruise!

Liam would never have left our side if he didn't have Chad to hang out w/ b/c Ocean Quest was a little intimidating IMHO as his mother. Patrick made a new "best friend" in Logan & for those of you who didn't know. He overcame his stage fright & was in MANY karaoke & sing along shows.

Thanks FE friends for all the great gifts. The kids got to them before the parents, so I truly don't remember who gave what--just that it was all so much fun. Some of you are sooo creative. Since I am always running late, I wonder if I hold some record for latest FE gift distribution---2am Sat. when everyone had already packed their FEs. I hope the frames & candy weren't too bulky for your carryon.

I wish I could've met everyone more. My poor next door neighbors Jazzygirl Jill saved me w/ Bonine on our last sea day & saw us all over. Other people we hardly ever saw again. One couple (you know who you are) thought we were stalking them b/c we inevitable seemed to be in the same place at the same time.

Many of you know my biggest highlight------"THE" necklace Scott gave me out of nowhere. It's the diamond journey Mickey pendant from Treasure Ketch. I am still overwhelmed!!!! What a great DH & Liam for making that happen. And a special thanks to Douglas & Kirsty who helped make it so very magical. I'll try to do a trip report later for future Tortola people especially.

I'm at AKLV for the night & we're going out soon.

Thanks again to everyone who made the cruise a more friendly place to be. :goodvibes

After a long travel day we are finally back home to reality! BOO-HOOO! I miss Hector at the pool getting us the drink of the day, miss Rudy our Room Hostess for cleaning up after us everyday. He was so funny and fun to talk to. I miss Wilson (AKA- Mr. Wilson) our Server for being so attentive and funny too. But we will see all of them again in May in the Meditarranian!!!

Our highlights:
The dolphin swim in Tortola, I got to do it twice because my oldest wanted me out there with her, so the guide sent the dolphin to get me :) Also snorkeling in St. Thomas. My youngest free dove in the ocean pretty deep! Amazing to see her do that, I missed seeing all the fish I had my eye on her the whole time. I swear she is Ariel in disguise.

Magical Moment: We told Brent that my oldest likes to dance and wants to be a dancer on Broadway or with a ballet company and we asked him if it is possible for her to talk to one of the dancers. He took down her name and room number and on Thurs. she got to meet one of the dancers!!! She was the one who did the couple dance in the Lion King song during the Wishes show! They had such a great talk together. My daughter was thrilled to meet her and I was too, I almost was in tears the whole time, LOL! It was truly a magical moment!

Will do a report later. I got home expecting our kitchen to be done. All that needed to be done was the counter tops. You think that is too much to ask, well I guess it is because we have no countertops and we have guests coming this Thurs.! It best be done! I miss the magic of Disney!!! Okay, Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust!!!

One couple (you know who you are) thought we were stalking them b/c we inevitable seemed to be in the same place at the same time.

Alright, so I've been back home for about ten hours now and I'm already depressed. I can't find the room service button on my cell phone, and I had to get carry out for dinner, and I'm pretty sure my wife is not going to fashion a swan or a wildebeest or something out of a bath towel for me to enjoy before bed this evening.

Highlight for us was the weather (flawless in every way) and the Baths at Virgin Gorda. And we massively miss our servers Jozsef and Gabriella! :sad1:

I'll be doing a full trip report for anyone who is interested, but I need a few days to recover and get everything in order. I ran into several of you over the week so many of you will play main and supporting roles! :thumbsup2

Watch the Trip Report board...

Still stalking you :smooth:  , since we're the only ones w/ enough energy to get on the boards. Or......we truly are the "DIS"tards that my DH described.

I feel your pain & I'm still on vacation. :lmao:

Rough awakenings that the cruise has ended:

Liam upon entering our room at AKLV says "I'm going to order some room service.......oh....uh.....uh....we have to pay for room service here."

WHAM!

Liam upon seeing the prices on the Jiko menu, suddenly becomes depressed and says "this is going to be my LAST good meal and Ronald & Passeyu aren't here. I'm miss them."

WHAM!

Next the really sweet kid says, "let's not get an appetizer Mom, it's not like the cruise, this all cost money. I can't get two appetizers and two dinners for free + dessert."

WHAM!

I try to talk to DS about what we're going to do when we get to MK after dinner. I try to tell him, let's skip dessert & get something later at the Main St Bakery.

His reaction....daydreaming & looking more and more depressed. So I say let's just go swimming tonight instead of going to MK, you look really tired sweetie. He replies no w/ moist eyes. I just miss Ronald & Passeyu. I can't believe I might never see them again!

WHAM!

Later after swimming, he takes a shower uses up all of the H2O conditioner. I say, "hey leave some for me." He says, "no they'll bring by more soon" I tell him "no honey this is DVC & we're checking out tomorrow."

He thought someone would be arriving to turn down our beds.

WHAM!

I'm loving every minute AKLV. This place is awesome!!!!

I did get a welcome butterfly towel animal w/ a cool little African proverb. My reality will hit Monday when I realize how much :laundy: I need to do.

Welcome back to reality!!!!

We got home last night. The final bit of Disney Magic was the magical appearance of our suitcases in Dallas.

Thanks to everyone for the FE gifts! We had a blast doing that! What a great cruise with absolutely perfect weather!:cool1:

OMG. We have done the FE several years, and this group was the absolute best. I couldn't get over everything we got. We had plenty of candy for the movies. Plenty of things to play with at the beach. Lots of things to goof off with at the pool. Lots of things to have at home to remember the trip. I can't get over how creative you guys are. It was fantastic.

Drew -- I have to apologize to you. I ran past you in the hall (I was having a challenging day with my mom), and I didn't see you until I was a flight up. Oops. Sorry. Thanks for organizing the meet. That was great.

It was a great trip. We had a few bumps with our stateroom hosts; however, our servers were fantastic. The weather was great. The people were wonderful.

What a great trip. Still, it is a bit nice to be home. . .

I agree. Even this was my 1st FE group & I was worried b/c we had so many teens--couldn't figure out what to get them special, it was great. My DSs  doing this. DH who is lovingly the "enginerd" thought it was cool & then was ticked off at me b/c I was still putting things together on the cruise. :rotfl:

Ok, here's my rude awakening that I'm not on the Magic anymore. DS won't wake from his dead to the world sleep. It's 9:43 & I can't just go to Cove Cafe or to the promenade deck & leave a message on the magnetic board of where to find me. I'm stuck here w/ sleeping beauty--waiting to go to MK.

WHAM!

Disneylovers are here somewhere until tomorrow. I haven't run into them yet. On the Magic I could have found them at dinner. I would've run into them in the hallways at least twice by now.

WHAM!

I miss my DIS board friends. Where are you????

Seriously, thanks for a great cruise!!!!!

We had a great time on the cruise. It was all so amazing, the weather, the service, the food, the entertainment...etc.

We are at WDW until tomorrow night, but find we just want to relax and not try to do the parks non-stop. We have spent a lot of time in the room and at Downtown Disney. We are going to hit Magic Kingdom tonight once it cools down.

Highlights for us:

The Quiet Cove pool on Port Days. It was EMPTY and we had the pool and staff basically to ourselves.

I had a great chat with David's (adult entertainment) mother. She was on the cruise to see what he does.

Our server was great. He spent a lot of time each night just talking to us. He gave us his e-mail address and we shared ours with him. He let us know he will help us out if we ever want to visit Asia.

When I saw there was no Peanut Butter Pie on the Animator's Palate Menu we joked with our server. He said he would try to make some magic. The next night he brought me two pieces of pie and said I could have more if I wanted. I told him that two was plenty and took it back to the room to enjoy! So above and beyond. :)

We miss the ship and can't wait for our next cruise. Hopefully, it won't be too long before we can get back!

Wistful greetings from Cincinnati! :sad1: (Mary, that little clue should help you figure out which gifts were ours...hehehe) :goodvibes

We are finally home. Spent one extra night at CBR and spent the day at MK...yes, my 16 y.o. wanted to go to MK. :worship:

We had a fantastic time! DS and I agree that we had our best cast experiences this year. Servers Raphael and Mia took care of us extremely well, and we four nearly teared up on Saturday morning at breakfast. Stateroom hostess Stevonnie was an absolute blast...someone who could go "toe-to-toe" with DS! I loved it!!! :rotfl2:

I did get my magical moment Friday evening! Since DS and I always eat together, I've not been to Palo in the five years we've sailed. Well, our head server Putra arranged for each of us to get a chocolate souffle at dessert. WOW!!! Talk about a chocolate heaven on earth!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the meet at Promenade Lounge Saturday. For those who couldn't make it, we missed seeing you!

Also, many thanks to the FE gang. I have to agree, the gifts were unique, fun, and exciting! :thumbsup2

Amy -- you're welcome. Don't be too concerned about passing us in the hall. Half the time I was roaming the hall I had my nose in that daggone folder, so no telling how many people I passed myself! :confused3 Also, thanks right back at you for keeping our lists up-to-date!

As you can probably tell, we gave in...booked Father's Day again next year. It's not the Northern European, since DS' pending college fund is looming on the near horizon. Ahh, well...even at four nights it's a little more pixiedust!

I do have a few pix of some people, and I'll e-mail them to the subjects soon.

I guess it's time to go do some household chores.... :laundy:

Hello Tortola Gang! It was really nice to meet so many of you. It was so neat to have Mary and her family as our neighbors. I hope my sons dragging in at 2 am in the morning did not wake you. My one son does not know how to be quiet.....lol This was my first experience with FE gifts and my husband and I had fun delivering them:thumbsup2 We also enjoyed going to our room and looking in our FE. Thank you for all the fun items.:flower3:

I too miss having someone make my bed and then turning it down and leaving chocolates. I miss Natalie the Bingo hostess and Dave the entertainer. My husband and I spent every night down in Rockin Bar D. My husband, who hates to dance, was a great sport and went dancing with me.....the Magic delivered pixie dust there.:dance3:

The shows and port of calls were outstanding. We had a wonderful time on the Magic! For some reason, Russell and I had pineapple slices every day, so tonight we had pineapple slices to keep the Magic alive. Now, we are going to walk around our neighborhood in Ohio and dream that we are walking around deck 4 on the Magic.:flower3:

If I don't post soon, have a fantastic Fourth of July!
Jill

We're back too:sad1: Got in last night at 10:30, and home by midnight. It was rough getting up and going into work. I'm slowly unpacking the suitcases.

DVC Mary, we didn't run into you at AKV! Mary had a BLAST on Saturday. We spent half the day at MK and the other half at HS. She was SO excited that everyone wished her happy birthday by name! (the button helped!)

I'm sorry we missed the meet on Saturday. We didn't get to the port until 2, so we needed to grab some lunch, and by the time we finished eating it was almost 3:30, and we still had to unpack. I wish we could have made it. I wanted to meet all of you.

For us, DH felt the scuba dive on Tortola was the best. For Jen, it was the Doubloon snorkel and sail (DVCMary - your "daughter" says "hi";). Mary was thrilled with the birthday celebration, and we were so glad that Simoun our server caught Zan our head server before he brought the cake over (since it was strawberry, and Mary is allergic to strawberries), so they put the chocolate ship decoration on her chocolate dessert, and Mary was thrilled! I loved the shopping in St. Thomas, and I was SO happy that the parasailing was cancelled, but the rest of the gang was REALLY upset and upset with me for being happy!.

I miss my "drink of the day"!

Pat:)

Jill--I'm just glad my my crazy DSs or DH yelling at them didn't bother you. We never heard your boys. Your eldest DS saved my KTTW card on either Thursday or Friday night late. I went out for a walk. A blast of air knocked my KTTW card out of my well worn plastic holder. He walked around until he found me & I was sooo grateful. Please thank him again. My boys loved having friendly neighbors. Next cruise, I will start the Bonine BEFORE the cruise.

Drew--I knew the Cinncinnatti chili mix was you! I have close friend who grew up there & is a fan of Skyline Chili. Next time you go on a cruise, let the DIS meet group know you are interested in going to dinner at Palo. You could've come w/ us if we had known. We're all about the food & view there, not a :lovestruc dinner for 2.

Pat--Tell "my daughter" ;) she's a lovely young woman & a great sister. Tell her hi! I have a dear cousin w/ Down's, who is very close w/ her siblings, & some her extended family--especially my Mom. I'm just glad we got to wish Mary so many Happy sweet 16 B-days! I her :). She looked lovely in her pearls. Actually your WHOLE family looked lovely in your new jewelry.

Liam & I were totally bummed parasailing was cancelled. We tried to go on the waverunners next, but the water was too rough. We got stuck doing a sea kayak. Let's just say that we couldn't agree on how to paddle :rotfl: & tipped over twice. DH got lots of great photos.

To fill the rest of you in: we enjoyed the Doubloon Sail & Snorkel w/ Pat's family. We didn't know we were on the same one until we literally sat next to each other. Jason "the snorkeling hottie" thought I was Jen's mom. I got all offended jokingly since I thought he knew the 12 & 9 yr old boys were mine. If Jen was my daughter, I wouldn've had to had her in h.s.

The truth was Jason "the snorkeling hottie" kept looking for any excuse to talk to the lovely Jen :cutie:. He kept filling up her painkiller cup & I had to hold mine out to remind him to refill me, so the daughter joke just kept going. If I had daughters, I would be honored to have girls as lovely as Jen & Mary.

Missing the Magic!!

Thanks everyone for the FE gifts! I was so happy we did this, the kids did swipe everything before I got to see much of it but they really enjoyed it.

DVCMary....you will enjoy that of the 4 schools the teachers in our group teach at; 2 were represented by students on this cruise! I am sure the students (yes, not 1 but 2 girls) from my school will enjoy that I drank enough to pickle a large whale...as long as there are no pictures that show up on facebook, I am good!

Jazzygirl...our group also represented one current and one past teacher from Pick North. We enjoyed a long conversation with your older son one night, he is a very nice kid! Wishing him luck at OSU.

Thanks again all...next time we cruise we are planning on one of the new ships.
