We just went in October after not vacationing for awhile. Now we are planning on going to Yosemite National Park and visiting Disneyland together. How bad are the crowds in/around June 1st? When do the kids get out of school in California? We did Fairfield Inn last time and are thinking of Howard Johnson this time just because of all the good reviews on this site.

Is June too crazy of a time to go? When is Toy Story Mania expect to open?

Any help would be great.

We will be there June 1st as well. We usually go in early June because schools are still in for another week or two. Crowds are usually good! As the month goes on it gets more and more crowded. June 5th is a Grad night so DL will close at 9pm that night.

They haven't said when Toy Story Mania is supposed to open yet. They are just saying "Summer 2008". But I would bet it's gonna be like Nemo, second week of June or so.

We will also be staying at Hojo's!

SoCal AP's are not blocked out until the second week of June, so that's promising.

I will likely be there June 3rd for DS's 3rd birthday. :)

KCmike got bit by the "boss mouse" & the family is making a return visit!!. :lmao:

Mike, I was at DLR the Sun - Tues of the first week in June (this past year). (equivalent to June 1 - June 3 this year.)

Lots of folks from AZ & Texas there. A little crowded sunday night, but we had FPs collected from that morning, so no problems. No crowds on Monday or Tuesday until the evening (but was still manageable). The Fireworks ONLY ran on weekends (thankfully we saw Sunday night).

I monitored closely after returning, & that week....Mon - Thurs was very UN-crowded. That Friday saw a spike of crowds & by the (second) Sat & Sunday of that week it was mobbed.

Even with a 9pm closing for Grad night you guys can get ALOT done that day (if you stay thru Thurs.)

If i was returning (& i might :yay: )...I'd plan a Sun 6/1 - Tues 6/3 (or Wed. 6/4) again in a heartbeat.

But remember Sunday is the only day for Aladdin & the Fireworks on a Sunday-Tues. visit that week. To ensure seeing the Fireworks you might want to come in Sat. night if it's important to you.

Don't know how the Toy Story opening would affect things.

Good to see you posting again, Mike! :hippie:
