Hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year. Disney was wonderful. Weather started out in the low 70's and climbed a little bit every day,it was just about 80 when we left on 1/2. Traffic was awful driving home though. Just about stop and go all the way to Virginia.Glad we are flying in June! Parks were super crowded of course, but we did get to do Mickey's Philarmagic, which was great. Mission Space was kind of disappointing, too much hype. We spent New Year's Eve in Epcot with dinner at Teppanaki. At 6:00 none of the parks were closed, surprising. Illuminations was awesome. Now back to reality, New Jersey, work and COLD!! 20 degrees this morning and its suppose to get colder every day. Wonderful!

Denise:wave2:

Well, we're down to 151 days. Anyone else joining us? I'm sure those of you living where it's cold wish we were leaving tomorrow!!

Glad to hear from someone else. Not to bad here just 23 right now with windchill of 18. No snow for awhile but we did have some ice over the weekend. Sure wish it would hurry up and get here.:bounce:

:Pinkbounc WOW! 151 days makes me feel like there is light at the end of this cold, dark tunnel!!!:(

Now, anyone have any tips or tricks to make 7 days on the Cruise FEEEEL like 151 days????? ::yes::

THINK WWWAAARRRMMMMMMMM and HAPPY THOUGHTS!!!!:sunny:

:wave2:

Just wanted to bump us up on a cold, snowy, icy night in the northeast!

Hi everyone! a quick bump. It won't be too long yet, although it may seem like it. In a little over two months you'll get your excursion request and you can really start to think cruise then! Groundhog saw his shadow so 6 more weeks of this stuff. Hope everyone is surviving the cold and snow. Time to start getting the board going strong again. Cheers, Wes (Better half of DebbieDVC)

Ah, yes, as I sit here and look out at freezing rain, I can see us all on top waving to the people on the beach leaving the Cape........., well, it worked for a little while!

Who's the better half????:earsgirl:

Hi everyone! Haven't posted in a while since I thought we might have to change our cruise to a different week but we're sticking with 6/19! DD is not sure she is going to join us though...after senior week at the shore and 2 weeks in Italy and Germany, she's thinking about staying home to work (gotta save that college money)! We'd love her to join us but if she decides to stay home that's just more room in the cabin for the rest of us!

Ready for that nice warm Caribbean sun...I've had enough of this snow and ice!

Beth

It's snowing here today, and I'm dreaming of snoozing by the adult pool.

Can't wait!

Hi Everyone!
Thought I'd check in with the group as it's getting close enough that this is believable!:yo-yo:

I booked only one excursion so far directly with the company-the dolphin swim on Cozumel, as my DDs are set on it. Everything else is a bit up in the air, as every time I ask about excursions my DH rolls his eyes and says sarcastically "is this going to be as relaxing as our trips to WDW?" So I guess I'll just hold off for now.

Does anyone know how fast the DCL excursions book up? I would imagine it depends on the trip, but I was thinking if we just booked the must-dos and then had plans A, B. or C like I do for days in WDW, we could take a wait and see approach. As always, the planning is almost as much fun as the trip. It's getting me through this long, very cold New England winter.

I'll enjoy keeping up with this thread now that we are down to months instead of years.......:teeth:

Sitting in my classroom during standarized testing, looking out at another cold and dank day and dreaming of snoozing in the hammock on Castaway cay after too many Conch Coolers. Sound good?? At least its raining here and not snowing,We have 2 snow days to make up in June now. for which I will be taking my personal days because I will be on the Magic.:Pinkbounc

Aloha Everyone

We're having a heat wave...It hit 40 this weekend;)

Looking forward to choosing those excursions:Pinkbounc

Beth....sorry to hear that your DD may not cruise....my DS is also a graduating senior and REALLY hopes there are enough people his age onboard! But I REALLY hear you about the college $$$ and having more room in the cabin;)

msdisney53....I am considering doing my bulletin board up in DCL/Castaway pix!!! Somehow, I don't think my History Dept. Chair will see the humor in it:teeth:

Stay warm everyone!:wave2:

Hi all, for any of you that are interested, you can see the Wonder on Thursdays and Sundays and the Magic on Saturdays by going to the webcam at Port Canaveral website under multimedia. Debbie thinks it is cruel to watch the ships in port but I try to imagine all those excited people in the terminal and wish I was one of them. Sometimes the guy running the webcam (I figured out it sits on top of the Rinker silo) will follow the ships down the channel as they depart. That really puts off my wife. "Hey Debbie, come look at this" and its a webcam pic of the ship cruising out to sea. Boy does she say bad words! She won't even come to my computer when I call her now.:teeth: Soon, folks, soon. A little over four months. Almost time to buy sunscreen. Cheers, Wes.:earsboy:

Gee, what a difference a day makes. I thought Disney was getting over its post 9/11 doldrums only to find out that Eisner is in trouble and a hostile bid has been offered from Comcast---a cable company!!!. What's wrong with this picture? Who knows, we may be sailing on the Comcast Cruise Line on a ship renamed M.S. Monopoly (as in cable monopoly). Anybody ever see their cable TV rates go DOWN??:earseek: Wes (I'm not so cheerful today. Sorry)

Poor Wes, he is having nightmares of Comcast World!

Beth and Mai Ku Tiki we have a graduating senior too! We should throw them a party!

:earseek:

Aloha!

Great idea, Debbie....would LOVE to throw a party for our gang of grads...was trying to figure out what XTRA-SPECIAL something we could do for DS (like a DISney cruise the SAME YEAR we start paying college tuition isn't enough!!!)

Anyway, we WILL NOT sail on the ms comcast ANYTHING! Someone on TV last nite said they are the LARGEST purveyor of ADULT programming in the country!!!:earseek:

We in NJ already know about their HORRIFIC customer service ( it is legendary here)...oh, and their great history as a terrific stock...they make their tremendous profits by ripping-off their customers AND probably the employees as well!

This is NOT the direction DISNEY should go in!

Just my 2 cents!:wave2:

After your favorable response for the grad party, I think we should do it! Perhaps we can enlist the CM's on the ship. We will have to put out a call for all parents on this cruise with graduating seniors! They would love it, especially if it was a total suprise! We can try to plan it for a day at sea. Any thoughts???

Aloha!

Let's do it!!! I think the earlier in the week the better as this could also serve as an ice-breaker for these outcasts from the 'teen' activities!!!;)

Not a clue where to begin? Call DCL to request a 'special event'? or just arrange a secret meeting place somewhere? First time DCL cruisers here.....Last cruise DS was 4 and we were on THE BIG RED BOAT!:earseek:

Happy to help anyway I can.....:wave2:

~Rose~

::yes:: !! Well, DD has decided to go with us after all! I think the grad party sounds like a great idea! The kids will be very surprised if we can pull it off! I'm in!!

Beth
