I just received a call from Disney cruise line that they are changing two ports days around

Naples will now be on Thursday June 23 and
Rome will now be on Wednesday June 22


For those of you that have booked independent tours you may want to see if you can change them


The change is not yet reflected online on my reservation

I received a similar message, and I do see the change reflected under my port activities. We are doing a private tour in Naples, so I am hoping the tour company can accomodate the date change. The reason for the switch has to do with port availability in Naples. By switching the days, the Magic can now pull up to the dock in Naples instead of having to tender.

I called DCL and confirmed this switch. Also, they told me the port times have changed:
Civitavecchia (June 22) is 6:30am to 7:30pm
Naples (June 23) is 7:30am to 7:00pm

I called back a few minutes later and got different port times:
Civitavecchia (June 22): 7:45am to 9pm
Naples (June 23): is 8:30am to 7:00pm

I'm very confused, and we need to know so we can adjust our private tour accordingly. Can anyone confirm which one is correct? It used to be 9pm all-aboard times for these two ports... bummer if it is going to be shortened.

I have all but one of our personal navigators from our trip last summer.....

The times on the Personal Navigator were
Naples, Italy - All Ashore: Approx. 8:30 and All Aboard 8:45
Civitavecchia, Italy - All Ashore: Approx. 8:00 and All Aboard 8:45

I think the all ashore times are approximate since they have to get cleared by the port to let people off the ship.

As far as tendering ports...They are La Spezia, Italy and Villefranche, France.
I have no idea about Palermo, Italy since that was not part of the itinerary last summer.

Thanks so much for posting. I have two private tours to change and haven't heard anything from my TA on this. With the time change to Italy, being able to email them today hopefully I'll know if they can make the switch by tomorrow.

We are really getting close now. Is anybody flying over on June 16th from Philadelphia - US Airways?

We're from the Philly area (Horsham PA anyway) but had to take a flight frmo JFK to get a reasonable rate from Delta direct to BCN. We didn't decide to go until Feb and flights from Philly were high.

We'll be the one wearing the Phillies and Eagles shirts on the tours

We are from CA but watch the Eagles with interest because of DeSean Jackson. We are huge Cal fans, and DeSean is a Cal guy. So much fun to see him catch those long passes and return punts for touchdowns.

We are - Charlotte to Philly on the 2:45ish flight, then Philly to Barcelona. I wanted to leave a few extra hours of layover since I don't fancy running through airports with small kids!

Thanks for the info. Glad to see Civitavecchia has not been shortened.

But Naples used to be 9pm; anyone know when (or why) it was shortened to 7pm? Makes it much harder to do the port on our own when you have to allow a safety margin to get back to the ship.

Just a guess but probably because it has further to travel to the next port than previously when it was just going to Rome
As to when it happened it was when they switched the two dates around

Thanks to you guys, I found out about the port change and have asked Rome In Limo to change days (hope to hear soon). We are looking for a family to share the day with us - the 22nd as it were now! We are from PA and have 2 kids - 8yr old boy and 10yr old girl. We planned to do the Vatican historian.

Anyone interested? We're really fun people and we don't bite

Have made changes with our tour co. I don't forsee a prob, not like they don't deal with this all the time.

We have rented a house in a village about an hour or so away from Barcelona for the week after the cruise and need to rent a car. We have not been able to find any car rental agencies that are very close to the port, so my husband is going to have to leave the ship, take a cab to the nearest car rental place, pick up the car and come back to get the rest of us at the port. Will he be allowed to get off without the rest of us and go do this? or do they require that the whole cabin/travelling party leave together? He is not going to want to pick up any luggage to haul there and back either- just leave it to us to get it. I want to be able to wait until he is on his way back with the car before I get off the ship with the kids and all of our stuff.
