Hi all,
I'll take the plunge and start this thread for us.

My family and I just got off the May 9-16 Magic Eastern Caribbean - our first cruise! What a MAGICal experience! The DISers onboard really made the trip.

We went ahead and took advantage of the onboard add-on offer for our DVC points...and got this cruise thrown in for the whole family. I can't wait to see what the Wonder has to offer...and to meet all the rest of you great DISers on this cruise as well!

Talk to you all soon!

**Below is a list of all those who have joined our WONDERful sailing. I will do my best to keep it up-to-date based on the info posted in the thread or sent to me via PM.**

Wow - glad to have you very experienced cruisers onboard with us! I hadn't even thought about the fact that it's a Father's Day Cruise...I shall now expect goodies from the wife and kids. ;)

When we get some more people on this thread, we can go ahead and get started with conversations about FEs and Meets. Until then, let's just try and keep ourselves sane through the next 353 days or so!!

Hey there to anyone who's subscribed to this thread. I hope we can get some conversation started here. I'd love to hear people's thoughts on:
- Fish Extenders - gift exchange, etc.
- Cruise Meets - who, what, where
- And of course - who is joining us on this awesome adventure! My family and I came home with a lot of new friends from our first Disney Cruise and we're hoping that we can do so again this time!
I'm going to update the first post as we go along with the names and any other pertinent info you care to share throughout - I'll start with my info to kick us off!

I hope we can all talk soon.
Jeremy

I'm with you, Jeremy. DS and I had a great time two months ago...and met some really cool people. Hoping that holds true this coming year as well! :thumbsup2

Glad to hear it Smilen! It'll be great if we can get this group going too. Feel free to shoot me your info if you're not averse to sharing!

Hey there, Smilen. You mentioned that you and your son travel together. That's pretty neat - how long have you been doing that?

Hi, Jeremy!

DS (Matthew, 16) and I will be on our sixth consecutive "Father's Day" Disney cruise this coming June. :cool1:

We had such a great time on the Wonder during our first visit that we had to try out the Magic. Then the Wonder again...then the Wonder with my mother...then the Magic again...well, you get the idea. :-)

Each trip we try to do a snorkel together as well. I've suggested to my son that he might want to try a different cruise line, now that he's getting older...but nope, Disney "all the way" for him! :thumbsup2

Very lucky for you that you have a son who is so wise. ;)

My daughters are younger so I'm hoping that I too get to stay on the Disney 'wavelength' - I know, such a bad pun...

Good to hear that your son enjoys it...he probably likes The Stack/Aloft, huh? Means my daughters may be well taken care of for years!

So we're a little over 250 days until the cruise and I have some good news. We have convinced my cousin and her family to join us at WDW before the cruise, so right now we are looking at a group of 10 of us at WDW...next step is to convince them to actually join us on the cruise itself.
Hard work, indeed!

To everyone joining us on this cruise, I hope all your planning is going well!

Congrats, Jeremy. It's always fun to have a large family at WDW. Yours will enjoy it. Yes, now you need to get them to book the Wonder! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Drew. Fingers crossed. How goes your prep time? You guys doing okay?

Things are going well. As you can probably tell by the signature line, we also booked for Alaska in 2011. I am now a slave to DCL! :rotfl2:

As for the June cruises, we're anxiously awaiting them. We've already booked the flights. We're coming in to MCO the day before, so we have to figure out which hotel to stay at...and, if on Disney property, which park to hit. :confused3

I'm also anxious to see pics of the Wonder after drydock. They're supposed to be installing the new "viewing area" for Alaska on Deck 10, so it should be there when we sail (it appears that some of Wild World of Sports Deck might be taken for that, can't tell for sure).

My wife and I are so jealous. Nat even had the Alaska cruise on-sale date on her calendar. But when we looked at the $$$ it was just too rich for our blood. We're looking at it as a future trip, though...you better believe it.

A lot of people on my last trip stayed at the airport Hyatt (http://orlandoairport.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/activities/index.jsp since they were flying in the day before too. If you don't absolutely HAVE to go to the parks that might be the way to go...no hassle getting to your hotel, a rooftop pool, and you are close enough to shoot over to the Space Coast for a day...something I've never done.

Hmm, maybe we'll book an Alaska Cruise WHILE we're on the ship. I'll have to work on the wife for that one, huh?
:thumbsup2

So, as a prelude to our June excursion, I'm heading out to WDW this coming weekend! :thumbsup2 My kids and I will do the Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and I will be partaking (rather heavily I think) of the Food & Wine Festival at Epcott...I want to test my theory that I can make sloshing sounds when I walk by the time I make it halfway 'round to France!
:drinking1
Anyone else have plans to be in WDW this coming week? Or during the week before our cruise?

Hi! I just wanted to check in and say Hi! I just booked this cruise for me and my mom. This will be our celebration for her being cancer free. She has chemo scheduled until the end of February. I haven't told her about the cruise yet. I am going to tell her Dec. 1 during her next hospital chemo stay. I thought it excitement of the cruise would help her get through the treatment.

This is my second cruise and my mom's first with Disney.

Wow, TAKitty - that is a great idea. Talk about a wonderful additional motivation. And how proud will she be when she gets reminded how great a job she did raising her daughter!

Welcome aboard. Am I understanding you correctly that this is your second Disney cruise? Or just your second cruise in general? Either way, we'll make sure this is an amazing experience! Where did you go before?

I truly wish your mother a quick and full recovery. She'll be in our prayers. :grouphug:

You are too kind! This is my second DCL cruise. The first was last year--a three night. Thank you for the prayers. She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and it has now been moved to a stage 1. Four is the worst and one is the "best". I know that it is all the prayers that have helped to bring her stage down. This is the first miracle I have seen as an adult.

I am taking a quick trip in Feb to WDW with my sister and I just got back from a trip in Oct. Anyway, I am excited to join the group and I hope we see it grow as the months continue. :wizard:

That is terrific news, Tracie. Such a rare and amazing thing. Keep on praying and fighting that good fight!

We just went last week - my first time at Food & Wine. WOW. What an awesome time. Now I just have to live through the next seven months until we get back there!

Where are you and your mom from? We're in Vegas...but please don't hold it against us!
