Hi! I just wanted to check in and say Hi! I just booked this cruise for me and my mom. This will be our celebration for her being cancer free. She has chemo scheduled until the end of February. I haven't told her about the cruise yet. I am going to tell her Dec. 1 during her next hospital chemo stay. I thought it excitement of the cruise would help her get through the treatment.

This is my second cruise and my mom's first with Disney.

Tracie, welcome to the thread!

DS (Matthew) and I will include your mom in our prayers. We have watched a close friend of my DS go through Stage 4 lymphoma treatments over the past year. With God's grace, the young man (16) is in remission...and by God's grace your mom will be able to share the cruise with us...cancer free!

Right now we are staying in Cat. 9 because it is less expensive than the Cat. 6 I stayed in on the 3-day. I am waiting for Dreams to contact me about our room number. I also picked late dinner. We are staying three nights at BCV before the trip.

That's great, Tracie. I finally made it over to Beach Club on this last visit. We love the location and the property...nice get.
We have yet to book our stay. The window opens soon, I think. I'll let you know where as soon as I have it.

Because of the number of kids we bring, we are pretty much locked into the family staterooms. Love them, but boy would it be nice to try and finagle a better deal!

Strangely enough, I was in Detroit not once but twice in the last week. I'd never been to Michigan before! We flew through Detroit (on Spirit) returning from Orlando on Friday, and then I had to fly back in on Monday for a business trip. I really wish that the Wings were playing when I was there...oh well, maybe on my next client visit.

Yes, that's his true screen name. Just wait until we sail...aside from the fact that he's 6" taller than I am, you can tell we're cut from the same cloth.

That's very cool, man. And yeah, I'm taller than my parents, so at least you're not on your own!
I sure hope one of my daughters chooses to claim her relationship to me when she reaches 17! That would make all the pain worth it!

Anyway- we are in stateroom 6058, and there is myself and my 2 kids (Ages 9 and 5).

I grew up in the SF Bay Area, so I was also a DLer too. I can tell you that WDW will blow you away. I was just talking w/another dad who has recently made his first trip to WDW after growing up here on the West Coast and he put it really well - WDW is like this beautiful bubble...it's a place where we can escape from everything! DL is great (and the Pirates ride there is by far the best...) but it doesn't have the same World around it!

You are too kind! This is my second DCL cruise. The first was last year--a three night. Thank you for the prayers. She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and it has now been moved to a stage 1. Four is the worst and one is the "best". I know that it is all the prayers that have helped to bring her stage down. This is the first miracle I have seen as an adult.

I am taking a quick trip in Feb to WDW with my sister and I just got back from a trip in Oct. Anyway, I am excited to join the group and I hope we see it grow as the months continue.

Congrats on beating down the cancer beast. I'm always amazed by the strength of individuals to fight that incredibly tough fight. Again, congratulations and I can't wait to shake your hand. (I got to meet Lance once...really impressive individual who was one of the few heroes I've met who DIDN'T disappoint!)

As we get closer, we should start talking about some specifics - cruise meets, fish exchanges, etc. Should be FUN.

I really want to do fish exchanges! On our last cruise, no one was interested.
