Yah!! Someone else is going on this cruise with us : ).
"FE" is "fish extender". There is a metal fish outside the door of your cabin and people who are regulars on the DIS boards use this to hang a homemade or ebay bought thingie with pockets for goodies that they pass out. You can find more info about them if you search the topic. Sounds fun if enough people want to do it.

40 or so more days!!

Is this it???? Where is everybody????? We just signed up to sail on this cruise and I figured that there would be tons of people here. Anybody still there??? Let me know. All four of us will be on the ship, me , Kristen, my daughter, Billy, and Angela. this will be our eighth Disney cruise. Somebody keep me company.
Bill
PS, is there another thread????

Bill....This is it as far as I know. If you find another thread...please share!
Hello, BTW, my name is Kerrie and my family and I will be sailing with you and yours. I know it is crazy with all the "K"'s....Kirk (hubby), Kerrie (me), Karlie (12) Kassie (8), Kole (5) and Kenzie (2). Our first cruise ever! Glad to meet you.

Kerrie,,,,, that was quick. WOW!!! You are on the verge of the most amazing thing that we have ever done. A Disney cruise. The only problem is that the three day is just too darn short. We are going over to the resorts after and relax to try and get our heads on straight. Do you have any questions that you want answered. We are in room 2631 on deck two. This is a first time for us on deck two. Don't know what to expect. Hopefully quiet. We've done eastern, western, four day, three day, Pacific coast and Panama canal , all with Disney. Haven't been to Europe with them, though. Too expensive when you also take into consideration the airfare.
Bill
PS, Kristen is 13 and Billy is 16. Tentative plan is to do the Atlantis aquaventure, but , boy is it expensive.

Hey Kerrie,,,, When are you guys coming to Florida? Is it expensive? We found tickets for $57 each way from Indianapolis. Total around 140. But you have to add $15 per bag and then let's not forget that it is $6 for each reserved seat. Can you feel my blood pressure rising???????:confused3:confused3
And now , straight from the Copa Cabanna in Havanna,,,,,, (and also keeping with my need to have fun from all of the previous cruises,) THE BANANAS
:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Everybody DANCE!!!!!!

Bill...I wrote this big long response and lost it some how. I will short hand now.... We will be in room 2602 and 2604 that is unless we get the upgrade fairy to a Verandah (dreaming). We aren't much into crowds..so since this is our first cruise..we thought a 3 night would be just right. I love Disneyland, but can only handle one day. We love people...don't get me wrong. You get too many people together though and that is when the fun gets sucked out of things. Ya know?
Re: Atlantis...I was looking into it at one time too but decided against it because of the expense. For you and your family though, I wouldn't miss it. Your kids are at the best age to enjoy it!!! If you book online through Comfort Suites in Paradise Island, you can get a room for $280 and that gives you and your family wristbands to Atlantis. Just take a cab from the boat and check in and out at the same time. I am jealous...wish I could go. My kids are still a little too young to get the enjoyment that yours will appreciate there. We are staying on the boat in Nassau.

One question...I want to prepay tips. How do I go about this?

Thanks,
Kerrie
P/S We are meeting hubby's family in Florida after the cruise. We plan to do WDW one day and Sea World another day. One day of golf while grandma watches the kids too. Hubby is turning 40...his step-sister is turning 40 and his Dad is turning 80!! Lots of reasons to get together and celebrate

Bill...I paid almost $400 each for plane tickets. That's $2400 for the whole family. Does that make your blood pressure better? You are getting a great deal. We are flying from Portland, Oregon. This will be a once in a life time trip for us. Can't afford to do this again unless we win the lottery. : )

Kerrie,,,, We have done the Atlantis twice before and really love it. I don't think it was this much before. Lots of dough. I have never stayed or rented at the comfort inn, but have heard about it. Tickets to Nassau are pretty expensive for us and therefore, right now, we chose to go to WDW. We are scheduled to stay at the Animal Kingdom lodge villas, but , only if we get the ressies after the cruise. Right now, we only have the 23rd. Scheduled to fly back on the 25. We are with the vacation club and the whole WDW resort is almost completely booked up. I don't remember it being this bad since we have been coming to WDW. Good Question. I don't remember ever having prepaid the tips. They always give you envelopes at the end with recommended amounts.
You will be able to be as social as you want. The sail away party is great, but you can watch and that is usually what we do. Kristen sometimes gets out and dances, but not in a while. We enjoy the Bingo, lots of fun. We haven't done the clubs at night. I think it might be fun, but we are usually too tired and want the rest. The shows are a must and can only be seen on DCL. I am so excited for you,,,, the first cruise. DCL is very , very addictive.

Uh Oh...I hope that doesn't mean it will be more crowded than usual. So...what will you do if you can't get the ressies after the cruise? Do you have another place planned?

We are staying in a condo at a resort close to WDW. We fly back on the 28th.

I have heard other people talk about Bingo. We will play if we get more time reserved in Flounders for the 2 year old. I am confident my other 3 kids will want to be in the clubs as much as possible, but not sure I can get more time in Flounders. We already have her in there for a few hours on Nassau day (while we relax on the boat) and when we go to Palos and on Castaway Cay day while we get our Couples Cabana Massage. :woohoo:

Do you and Kristen and the kids have any excursions planned? The only thing we have set up is the the Cabana Massage (can't wait) and the older kids and Kirk are doing the Stringray swim.

Kerrie,,,, Thanks for keeping me company here. I am sure that very few people will be posting because most of them are new and don't have any idea of this or most of what is going on with the cruise. Some people have been around, I hear, and are doing a cruise for $99 from a deal from DCL from earlier. September is really booked because of this. Bingo is lots of fun and you can take little ones with you as you just sit in one of the clubs and , of course, pay and wait. They have lots of things they do to make it fun and make you laugh. We actually won some things , A DCL penlight(can't buy it anywhere) , LCD. The only excursion is the Atlantis thing. We are just so tired , I asked Kristen if she wants to go with me only to Atlantis or just stay on the ship. She said we could stay on the ship. Most of the excursions were open when I first looked. A few have filled , now. Palo still has some space. We aren't going to Palo. We prefer the brunch, but it isn't on the 3 day cruise. It happens on the at sea day which we don't have. There is one thing we will miss. Pirate night. It also is not on the three day , I believe.
I managed to get the first three days at WDW, Saratoga Springs, Boardwalk, Animal Kingdom, but am awaiting the fourth day, our last. I sure hope I can consolidate them so i am not running around day to day. The porters will change your luggage for you while you are at the parks, still a lot of trouble.
Kerrie,,,,,,They always have a Disney Vacation Club meeting on the ships during the cruise.. At these, they give away lots of things with the logo. NO obligation. Think about joining Angela and me for the meet and greet. they like for members to attend. Remember ,,,,Lots of freebies,, like DVC hats. Towels, pretty cool stuff. We have been members since 1994 and actually are doing this cruise with our DVC points.

Bill.....no... thank YOU for keeping ME company. I have been a lurker on the boards since I first started looking into a cruise over a year ago. I kept waiting for someone to start a meets thread for our sail date and I finally started one myself.
So..what exactly is the "Disney Vacation Club"? Is it like a time share? How much does it cost to be a memeber and what do you get? We are closer to Disneyland in California and probably won't get out to Florida again in our lifetimes. My husband is from Michigan and I am from San Diego, Ca originally.
Sorry...I was thinking Kristen was your wife. Angela is your wife and Kristen is your 13 year old! Ooops. And Billy is your 16 year old. (I have an 18 year old nephew named Billy so that will be easy to remember.) Good luck memorizing our names. He, he.

Kerrie, Yes the Disney vacation club is a time share. It operates on the point system. It takes so many points to reserve a room on a particular night. You buy the number of points that you think would likely serve you well in the future and also based on the amount you can afford. This cruise cost me 450 points for the four of us. I can stay at a studio at WDW for around 10-15 points a night. More for a one, two , or three bedroom condo. They have a new resort at Disneyland, the Villas at the Grand Californian, and they are selling them currently. You can learn alll about it at the meeting ,,,,, BUT,,,,,, remember,,,,,,NO OBLIGATION!!!!!!! If you want, you can meet with someone, but once again, you don't have to. We have been in it since 1994 and are extremely happy. There are some drawbacks. Usually ,minor. Gosh,,,, we've been in for 15 years. WOW!!! Just think,, some sort of Disney vacation for the next 50 years, every year!!!! You can also trade for other vacations. They are getting ready to build a DVC resort in Oahu. Now that one I'm thinking about adding onto with. Search for Disney vacation club and go to the website and look around. There is also a thread here on the boards, but I don't look at that one very much. Let me know what you think.
When we started, the only property was what is now known as the OLD KEY WEST. THAT WAS THE DISNEY VACATION CLUB. Nothing elso. We almost bought into Marriott, but knew that we were always going on property,, why go to Mariott. Haven't regretted it. We will get special stuff on the cruise because of being on points. Not to mention that we get Castaway Club, repeat guest stuff. I'll have to show it to you guys. Never know what it will be with each cruise.
Bill
ps,,, I think new points are around $100 each. Not cheap. Price has gone up. You can get resale points, but I don't know much about those. I thought about adding some a while back, might go for 80-90. Depends on where the points are located,,, they associate with individual resorts in the system. Mine are all with the old key west, but I can use them anywhere in the club. Kind of like taking out a mortgage to get a guaranteed vacation for fifty years.

Hey , I have been posting on the thread that we had going for the Disney cruise in 2005 when we went through the Panama Canal. May 14,2005 for two weeks on the Disney Magic.. Kerrie,,,,,,It was glorious!!!!!!!
We were in a mid ship category three suite. It had a 30 foot balcony and was two doors down from the Walt suite. Oh well.
