June 16, 2007 MedHead Cruisers

Auntsue1 - SIlver7 was just making fun of me. I think Haribo is the company that makes peeps. We have a bad habit in our office of always saying "ask my peeps" etc. meaning "ask my people" (Just bad slang) I had used it in a PM to silver 7 and then again here on the thread - soooooooooo -sliver7 was just giving me a hard time:rolleyes:

What we are sending to those interested are the "live strong"like rubber bracelets that we had made for our cruise - the model looks really cute. they are for everyone - even lurkers who will be on our cruise. SO absolutely you are included - unless you really just wanted the "peeps":rolleyes1

And - thanks for the info. We fly into Pittsburgh, the wedding is in Ohio, and the reception is at Mountaineer WV - seems so crazy to be in three states at one time - especially when you live in the middle of Texas.
WIll just have to deal with whatever happens weather wise - your right - it's a very quick trip!

I just read on another thread that you need to know your pin number of your visa card to make purchases in Europe. Someone said they didn't need it for Italy but you would from France. I've never heard of this....has anyone else?

Marie

OK - I'll be in charge of finding a place (I have a couple places in mind already). Let me just make sure I know how many we have . . .

Steph - 2
Marie - 2
Patricia - 3???
Us - 4

Thats 11 of us!!

Does anyone else want to join us?? Thats Friday, the 15th for dinner!!

-Jodie

Hi I am game. There will be the 3 of us. myself, Jenna & DMIL Patsy. Jodie, I found some resturants from a report I read on the net.
Mandongo prices us$ 21.00- 30.00
citrus US $ 21.00 30.00
Babilonia (near Sagrada Familia)US $21.00-30.00
LaPoma Restaurant-Grill (Pizza) US $11.00-20.00

I have the address's on all above & the numbers, if anyone is interested. I have reviews on them all which are highly recommended

Marie, I would love to share transportation with you. Do you know if our hotel have a pool? A nice swim sounds good, after the long flight sounds good.

I have been reading the live reports from the Magic,
I can hardly wait
:yay:

I've been reading those reports too...glad I am not on it although it sounds like their having fun...
but omg! such big waves, no one on deck. ugh! i couldn't handle that.

My input on dinner is pizza or if they have close enough to our quesadilla. My dd is probably as picky as the other kids but those 2 will do her just fine. Please no seafood primary restaurants. My dd and I have allergies and while we can be around it, they usually don't have a broad enough menu.
Picky enough for ya ;)
Thanks
Steph

Hey Patricia, These restaurants aren't on my list, but I'll check into them. I've got a couple others that look promising too. I'm also corresponding with the hotel and getting their recommendations as well. Will let you know. Thanks!! -Jodie

OK, it's finally happened. After five cruises, one each year for the past five years. Each year we pray and pray for an upgrade but nothing comes. So tonight, i'm checking our ressie, like i do every night, just to make sure it's still there and what did my eyes behold. I didn't really believe it. I mean i'm tired, it's been a long day, i'm on this pre-cruise diet, which means i'm trying not to drink wine. So i rub my eyes and check again and there it is. Where it use to read cat 7 navigators verandah 6136 it now says boldly CAT 5 DELUXE STATEROOM W/ VERANDAH 7612. I of course, jumped up and screamed, ran down stairs to tell everyone. I then was screaming, i have to go tell the disboard people, so here I am. Boy are we happy.

THANK YOU UPGRADE FAIRY, WHEREVER YOU ARE!!!!!

Pizza?? In Spain?? Shouldn't we be eating Spanish food? Yall are hilarious! I'll keep looking! Maybe I can find a Tapas bar that serves pepperoni and cheese tapas! HA!

Doing the happy dance for you! :dance3:

Ladies, one of the restaurants Patricia mentioned, La Poma, serves pizza and other dishes. The reviews are really good and the price is good. The kicker - it doesn't open until 8:00. Is that too late? Many of the restaurants don't open until this time OR LATER (some at 9:30). What do you guys think?

-Jodie

Sorry for so many posts, but you know, if I don't do this now . . .

vtiffany(Vicki) - :welcome: Welcome Aboard! :welcome:
We are not from the Chicago area, but we are about 5 hours west of you!

I don't know if you've read back through all the pages, but we lucked out and got the Roy Suite for this cruise so we are hosting a DIS meet and greet in the Suite on the first sea day. Everyone is welcome so if you and your family would like to join us just let me know. I am keeping a list with everyone's cabin numbers because I plan to send out a reminder on the 16th.

Also, I am trying to put together a list with all the information for everyone such as when you are arriving in Barcelona and what excursions you are planning on doing. This way we can see who is going on the same excursions so we can look for each other. On page 115 there is a list of questions if you want to look at them.

I know you are still trying to figure everything out so just let me know when you have made your plans and if you want to be added to the list.

Yes, of course, we'd like to be included!:dance3:

Here are our particulars:

We leave Chicago O'Hare 6/15 on Iberia #6274, arriving in Barcelona on the 16th via Iberia #6122 thru Madrid at 10:10am.

Hopefully on the ship right after that! Cabin # 6592.

These are what we have reserved.

Naples- Leisurely Sorrento and Palo dinner.

Civitavecchia- Jumping Back into Eternal Rome

La Spezia- Florence on Your Own

Marseille- Calanques of Cassis and A Panoramic Tour of Marseilles

Villefranche- Highlights of Monaco and Monte Carlo

We are also going on to DLP after the cruise. I think I read some others are doing that as well. We are staying at the Sequoia Lodge from the 27th thru the 30th. I thought we would see some of Paris, but, then I found out about the 15th Anniversary Celebration at DLP. I don't think we will have enough time for anything but Disneyland.

Does anyone have any info on the Calanques of Cassis? I'm not sure if we will keep that reservation or not. We might also be interested in private tours of any of the ports if anyone has room for 2 left in theirs. It is just my DH and myself.

Vicki:woohoo: We're less than 30 days now!

Hey, this is our 4th cruise with Disney, how do I get this to happen to us?:confused3 I'm going to check right now and see if we were sprinkled with pixie dust! I'm concentrating and wishing really hard right now:goodvibes

Vicki

Patricia,

Yes, I saw that they do have a pool and it looks nice from the pics on marriott's website. I read that check-in is at 2:00. I hope we can get in earlier just to unwind.

Let's definitely share a cab to dinner and I'll eat anywhere.

Marie

About dinner, I earlier is better but 8:00 is fine if that works best.

No pixie dust here! I would be shocked if it did happen.

Marie

No pixie dust here either. And my letter to dvc came back due to that fact I didn't put my address in the email. Uh..ya..I had my name and member number isn't that enough. Anyways, I sent it back today with the information they needed in order to respond. I have no idea how my address will help them respond but whatever. I am sure they'll be happy once I get off the ship so they can stop hearing my complaints regarding their crossover system between dvc and dcl. The resorts don't have the same issues...oh well. 28 days until we leave! thats good enough for me.

On to another...

8pm is fine with me. I figure we should get used to the late seating anyways. Plus it gives us plenty of time to finish the days sightseeing. But really anything is fine.

On the menu front...just hoping that you can see something very bland and simple for the kids. I'm good with anything. (except seafood for the obvious reason) I'll just take my prevacid (showing my age) to prepare me for the spicy spanish food! I love the hot stuff!

So now I am working on addresses and email for the folks at home to send postcards etc. The nice thing today, my dd was invited to a bday party on the 16th. And I had to call and say "sorry she can't attend we'll be in spain" it was so nice to hear coming out of my mouth. So REAL!

have a good night.

:offtopic: sorry - but can anyone tell me who was voted off of American Idol tonight. Went out to dinner and forgot to TIVO.

Thanks

I've been told, when traveling abroad that it is best to stay up real late so when you finally fall asleep you will be on the country's time. This worked when I was in Japan, though I felt like I was high all night. Jodie, when I was in Japan we ate pizza too  . I saw the food reveiew on the La Poma & they have other great foods. After work I will print the info I have on the resturant.

Has anyone heard from Lauren????????? alais "Princess Jasmine"??????
We miss you

Have a great day everyone.

Patricia

Patricia, yes I think La Poma sounds great. It got great reviews and it looks like they have good variety. Also, its on Las Ramblas, so we can hang out there before and/or afterwards. I'm a little worried about my 7 year old adjusting to the time change. She may be exhausted by 8:00, but we'll give it a try. I'd still like to see what my hotel has to say about pizza restaurants, and if they can't come up with anything better, than I'll go ahead and book La Poma for us.

Sound good?

Lisatex,

It was Melinda. I was shocked!!!
